    Look into notching to help your Fuyu persimmon limbs grow on the other side. Love the passion fruit setup…it’ll be MASSIVE before you know it. Awesome 👏🏾 tour! Thank you for sharing and stay blessed!

      Yes I will look into this for next spring! Haven't tried that before. If it doesn't work, I may just start over with a new tree - otherwise this one will be completely bent over.

    I’ll start a list: First, not AP - ri- cot but “Ape re cot”, Second, do you know figs and mulberries are first cousins, try Pakistan. Third, try another Pomegranate. Fourth, if you get an epic Peach harvest, try preserving them in French Brandy, you will squirm with delight. Fifth, great courage, trying the Espalier, congratulations. You may think about putting some aluminum siding on the fence 9:38 9:39 to reflect sunlight. Sixth, think about getting a bee hive, nothing nicer than your own honey AND blackberry honey is fantastic. General tip, with frost sensitive plants/pots, back in the day, they would put them on a pit filled with compost that warmed in the winter. Another general, no nuts, pecan? Almond (if you can grow peaches you can grow almonds. Macadamia only if you’re prepared to plant it and have a largish compost pile under it for the first 3 to 5 years.congratulations and best wishes. Read Bill Mollison and Geof Lawton.

      Lol - the APricot thing must be regional. That's the only way I've heard it around here. Another pomegranate is on my list for this fall. And YES to the peaches in brandy. Espalier - my climate is so hot, I definitely do not need any more sunlight reflecting on the trees! I absolutely want bees. I do have a couple of hickory trees but no room for more nut trees on the current property.

    I put that razzmatazz on my wishlist! A local lady here in NE FL successfully grows Thomcord grapes, so you might check into those if you ever are looking for another seedless variety to try. Do you order any of your fruit trees online? What size pots are your citrus in? Thank you!

      Great suggestion - I may want a second grapevine on the trellis. I order some of my fruit plants online (I like Nature Hills, Stark Bros, and Bob Wells Nursery), and buy some from a local nursery. My citrus are currently in 21-inch pots (not sure how that translates to gallons)

    Thank you very much for this nice video. Why don’t you plant Satsuma mandarins? Have you tried the Okitsu for example ? It ripes early in October / November in my zone south France (i am 9b) and resists up to -12 ° Celcius (or more). You can try Yuzu as well…
    Also i plant a vine next to each fruit tree and make it climb into the tree so that i have double production.
    Wonderful garden, well done.

      That's a great idea! I recently heard that those are fairly cold hardy so I'll have to try it.

    Very nice video. I am not sure what else you can add other than vegetables. I would like to share with you some organic fertilizer products called "Espoma" they have all sorts and even acidifiers for your acid loving plants, like your blueberry's. You have certainly created yourself a full time job maintaining your grounds. I would love to grow a lemon tree but we are to far north. I enjoy watching your videos and your excitement to share. Keep it up !

      Thanks for your comments! I have used the Epsoma acidifier on my blueberries and it was great. Yes, it's a lot of work initially, but every year it gets a little easier as I figure things out. Maybe you'd be able to grow a lemon tree in a pot and keep it indoors for part of the year?

      @@TheFruitGrove that is what I was thinking. I remember my mom doing this and the plant was so timid and dropping all of its leaves every winter in doors ( lack of sunlight I’m assuming ) and starting over every season with little to no usable lemons. I have thought about getting the Meyer’s lemon and giving it a shot. I really think I’m going to go through the same issues as my mother did. Sometimes it’s fun but at the same time of going against Mother Nature and not putting native plants in, is a set up for failure.
      We are all in different zones for reasons.
      By the way, I use a lot of Holly-Tone from Espoma. This product is amazing.

    How many melons did you plant on one side of the trellis? Thanks!

    • @TheFruitGrove
      @TheFruitGrove  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I did two on each side, although one plant didn't make it. You won't see any more updates on their progress from me this season - just this morning I noticed a rabbit ate all of my baby melons!
