I have a hard time with all these games in extreme early access. The glitches are so annoying, and players are basically all unpaid beta testers for months or years. I'll start a game, suffer thru the extreme bugs, and suddenly there's a huge update and my entire play through is broken. If a full release ever does come out, it's many years later and I'm long tired of the game.
The only good thing is that this early access provides funding and allows small studios to create very complex, amazing games, that can put the best AAA studios to shame.

​@@drengr2759 Been a long time since I had an experience like that playing an Early Access game. Though to be fair most recently I did stop playing Infection Free Zone for a bit because of the save corruption issue.
I think the most annoying things that have happened so far in Bellwright is a felled tree getting stuck in a weird spot not allowing me to chop it in half or my fireplace cauldron not letting me add ingredients. In addition, sometimes my villagers get stuck on trees or rocks, but usually they clip through them after a minute or so and go on their way. Granted, I'm only about 15 hours in so far so maybe there's more to come.
Overall though, I usually play them when they come out for anywhere from 40-100 hours depending on the genre and my interest at the time, then let it sit for 6-18 months and come back and do another fresh playthrough to see what's changed.

NPC's should have shields and decently good weapons for defending raids.
unlock the Saw Pit for planks to make shields.
any level of armor also helps so invest in researching that too

Glad I saw you play this yesterday. Picked it up and have put about 12-15 hours in so far. I like the Enshrouded/Valheim vibes with the ability to have the companions so it’s not as tedious as being the only person collecting, researching and crafting. Add in the missions which gives me Medieval Dynasty vibes and it’s been good so far. Glad to see the Steam reviews have moved from Mixed to Positive! Good game so far without significant issue.

the books are used by having them in inventory and going to the stat block. next to the stat corresponding to the book is a plus sign. click that.
