The two people you got should've counted for the hiring quest, but I think when you assign them to the other camp, they don't count anymore. If I remember correctly, in the beginning, when you had the 1 guy (and he was still assigned to the other camp), it said 1/2 I believe. Once you moved him, it went to 0/2. I bet if you assign them back to the camp closer to the town (just temporarily) they will count for the quest again.
Also, you can make signposts I think they are called (you need to research them first) and then you (though only you, not your people) can fast travel between them. You could make one of those near the reeds and then you don't have to risk your people with an outpost and you can quickly pop in and out yourself. You can make a bunch, they just have to be near a road (and not too close to towns).
I came here to comment that his people aren't in his settlement is why it isn't counting lol
catching up on these so have no idea if you've already sorted this.... but... you settlers may not be using the chests because the chests are not set to the HQ outpost.
Just a suggestion put a storage chest behind each work station and fill it with the raw materials needed for that work station. Quick and easy access and you can see at a glance how much material you have.
The reason the ai wouldn’t make the linen. The requirement is crafting 2 your guy is that but the lady isn’t. If she goes to the table forst it locks him out and he can’t craft it but she can’t. So set her to low crafting priority and him higher. Then he will go to the table first and craft it. As you progress you will have a person for each task set people with low skill in a job to not to that job.
As for town quests, if you look at the minimap in town, the ones with available quests are usually marked with a chat icon, while active quest is marked with !

Hey Kage, I watched the vod of you playing this yesterday, definitely going to pick it up! Hope the devs keep with it.
You were also talking about Manor Lords a lot. Just wanted to share a couple of tips from a man with 30 hours in 3 days and no pressures of streams and videos. Push every bandit camp until about 2k influence, influence is key. Trade, trade, trade, pick the perks to match that. Lastly, set oxen to work on individual trade/inventory points. That should help with the not getting things from here to there. Although, I still find many bottle necks around moving stock.

He plays 7 days to die the best survival game ever out to date so it makes sense he probably has 6k hrs on it or way more I have about 2k so lol

I think the part of the quest is when your in town down by the mini map shows hands shaking saying something out of 500 once you hit 500 it lvls up

U must have been getting headshots on those wolves. I haven't been as lucky with the bow with wolves. But it's working good for bandits. Just have to do a bit of kiting until they deaggro.
The Followers work the same way your character works. They need to be trained and have their skills leveled up just like ours, so they need crafting lvl 2 also to make linen themselves
Interesting they are raiding your camps. I've had 2 raids neither reached my base. Maybe it's my location. But both got stopped by the town guards.
6:56 I think it means that then have to be in “follow” mode, not “worker” mode
are you able to put food in the chests on their little house they live in? perhaps they might eat from that?
why not research the bag under the pretext that it could give you more storage.
You just have to talk to NPCs with the chat icons. I had 2 followers and almost 500 renown or whatever it's called, and "friend" status all before the first winter. You need to set up those priorities as well. Work and harvest priorities. I'm going to fire one of the guys though. I couldn't find a beggar who wasn't a dullard AND a slacker... every single one of them. Their attributes bust be randomly generated because I hired the same guy from my first game where he was a prodigy.
I'm coming in late on this one, but on the chests there are three options. Just a question but do you need to turn them on?

Hello. As far as I know the woodsman are only in Padstow and how can I join them if the village is not free yet. i need research bow tier 2 and he needs woodsman. Is there any other way?

You’re not good at combat yet I see though the combat looks like the standard non skilled combat. If it was like kcd this game would be a have to play would make it more fun lol
Looks like a great sleeper game with awesome potential.
Looks way better than manner lords I bought that one and it’s no good. In my opinion way too slow
