When doing tests like this, a tiny bit of salt in the water will give a better test. The reason is because pure water is an insulator. If you had pure distilled water and the phone was absolutely clean you could have it under the water forever and it would work under water. In order for water to be conductive, it needs ions to provide charge particles that can move. Normally in a wet phone, remnants of flux and other dirt provide the ions. If the phone is clean and the water is distilled, the test results won't match real world results. A very small amount of salt will provide the ions to turn water from an insulator to a conductor for the test.

Here I am with rn8pro after 3+ years of purchase with continuously playing pubg and with heavy usage like it even fell from 1st floor😂 but still it's in the best condition only headphone jack is loose(ofc heave usage on pubg for using it as a grip)...after all everything is just fine working just like a new phone...and yeah you can run in a rainy day using it without any fear 😌

Same, only some physical parts like hardware volume and lock buttons are button, i didn't even got it fixed....just pressing a bit hard and usin😂....no problem with the internal things of the phone. One time just had to get battery changed for only rupees 500. Still using after 3+ years 😂

my redmi note 8 pro fell in the 10cm deep water and it was there less than 2seconds I immediately pulled it out, it was working like nothing happened for at least 7 hours then after that i noticed it is all fogged up and it swiftly shut itself down without being able to turn it on again. it probably short-circuited because of the water inside steaming. Last monday my youngest daughter dumped my Redmi note 8 pro into my fish tank, it was there AT LEAST 5-10 MINUTES before i found it. As i pulled it from the fish tanks it was still playing a youtube video. i freaked out and turned it off, then placed it under rice. Hi, can you please help me.. my redmi note 8 pro some water entered in the right corner of my phone, i kept it under sun for many hours, kept in rice for 4 days. More than 95% water is dried, but the phone screen is flickering like hell with multiple touch inputs that the touch is rendered useless. I then slammed my palm 2 times over it and now it is not flickering but when I lock it the screen is ok for 5 seconds and then white lines and coloured lines start appearing. I have kept my phone off since then. Any way I can help myself here????? As we are stuck in Lockdown due to Covid
