When this video had come out, I had mostly gone backwards. I met a guy online then in person and I moved across the country to marry him. I went from having SEVERAL family contacts for babysitting/nannying and cleaning in tight knit community to living in a new place and having to meet people all over. I finally got a few nanny families, but it took time. Now I'm turning down nanny jobs because I just don't have the time. One thing that helped me in my old community was taking the nanny kids to the park and about the neighborhood. Suddenly, people would walk up to me and say, "I see you with different kids in the neighborhood so you must be a babysitter, can I get your number for when I need a sitter?" You can also work in a daycare. Where I live now, families prefer babysitters who have worked in daycares. They think it's better. They didn't care about that where I used to live.
