I am so glad hip hop is getting older, it's allowing older folks to continue to have careers. And I want them to change grow and sound "old". It's a blessing.
I love this album because it highlights him talking more about introspective topics. Obviously all of his other albums have had many of the same themes of regret and sadness but a lot of times those themes are almost masked by crazy instrumentals and vocal inflections, while as this one the instrumentals are more lowkey which gives the audience an easier platform to relate and really tune into what he’s saying.
I've been a fan of Danny since 2012, but damn, this might be my favorite album from him. I can really relate to this, and his deeper voice sounds amazing in my opinion.
I know I'm late, but danny is one of most favorite artists. Unfortunately, I wasn't around before he got more popular, but quaranta just seems like a real snapshot of a man just going through life in the most unique way of delivering it. it's unbelievably indescribable, and it's not even his most experimental work or style of delivery. It truly commands a genre of it's own and is definitely insanely well curated.
danny aging in the rap game is one of the most beautiful things ive seen this year. I thought we know this guy but no, he opened up a whole new dimension into himself with this album
one thing that should be noted about this record is when it was mainly made, which was (I believe) around 2020-2021, so him talking about being burnt out about rapping but then releasing this and STH in the same year isn't as strange as it seems. He talked on his podcast about how that was a dark time in his life and how he wasn't sober when making it (which I've seen some people attribute the albums introspection and maturity to that), also he now has a new girl who he's been with for a couple years now so I think he's thankfully doing better.
You need to check out Quelle Chris and Chris Keys. Their album Innocent Country 2 came out at the start of lockdown and is def top 5 rap albums of this decade
Danny Brown is proving that age has nothing to do with ability to make fantastic Music. Sad that Andre feels he has nothing to say and has become too Old. Hopefully Danny Brown keeps going, cause all his albums are very different and being something new to the genre
Fa sho, Mike is amazing. May god bless your hustle, war in my pen, tears of joy, weight of the world, disco, beware of the monkey, burning desire. All nuts. As good at producing as he is at flowing over the production. 🔥

Damn that’s something I never thought about but it’s very true that’s an aspect of music people generally take for granted
Hell yea
Like Tribe's last album
@@jonatanhansen202perfect example. that album slaps.
Appreciate the shoutout! Glad to see you love this album too, this is definitely Danny's year
Just saw I’m not in your top 3 so I retract my shoutout

In a weird way this reaction helped me click with the second half of the album. I love this record front to back, it’s inspiring how much he tells
can’t get time back, time o’da time

Another Aoty contender from Danny. He never misses
I love the low key take on his experimental side. It’s a really really amazing album. Danny’s been on a crazy run since XXX. 9/10 for me.
I got a British homie named Jon Denton
Danny has mentioned he made most of this album during quarantine, his label was taking a long time to release

Amazing album. Easily his most introspective work but still hints of his older stuff. 9/10

Bass Jam speaks to my soul 🥲

Absolutely unbelievable production on this. These beats are incredible
Really appreciated your commentary on this Jon. This feels like a very special album.
Always appreciate a new Danny Brown album
Danny brown has been rapping about deep personal introspective shit forever
Thank you, Jon was trippin lol. Felt like he never listened to XXX or Old
even songs like ain’t it funny from atrocity exhibition are super deep and personal it’s just so frantic and over an insane beat
Yeah it's not the first time he put himself out there, his highest rated album is called "Atrocity EXHIBITION"

How do you feel about quelle Chris’ solo album “Guns” in comparison?
gotta check out Quelle Chris, man. pleeeease. he produced Monopoly on XXX, and he has one of my fave rap discographies ever

Danny Brown’s discography is full of classics, he’s already a legend but this album really cements his legacy.
Facts love the MF DOOM pp btw cuz
Danny Brown should really be in the top five conversation after this. He's yet to miss in his entire discography.
Danny Brown and the YMH mommies in the chat, keep em high and tight.
MIKE is the MVP of 2023, Burning Desire is easily my AOTY and he hasn't had a single verse this entire year
Album of the year contender for sure
album of the year 🎉🎉🎉
Mick Jenkins project was amazing too
fire album
Yeah it’s either Mick, Danny or Sampha for my album of the year

Album of the year for me
This doesn't even come close to touching AE but it's still great
@@Julian-uk6mj XXX id say moreso, AE isnt for everyone. XXX just hits that right balance of tone and experimental shades
