I love this song which a very kind friend sent to me. It reminds me of when my late husband and I used to dance -- especially waltz ,together -- we did vintage ballroom - and the time we waltzed in our sock feet and our old mended hiking duds - in the gorgeous lobby of the Lake Yellowstone Hotel. We were driving around the park after ending our two weeks of backpacking because the skies threatened snow. He always wanted to hang out in the lobby so even though I wasn't dressed nicely, I went along. We ordered something to drink, A bunch of ladies in the girls room had just made fun of the paint stains on my patched pants - that belonged to my husband, Robert btw -- they talked to me as though I hadn't any idea that my pants were patched and paint splattered. Went into the hall and pulled myself together.Told Robert what the ladies had done when I got back to the lobby, he paid the pianist a big tip to play a waltz - told me take off my hiking boots and waltzed me around the lobby in his sock feet, which he hated to do - . The best dance ever.💖
I have watched this concert over and over again. It brings me peace and appreciate the beauty of life. John is such a talented artist brings out all the goodness of humanity. Miss him very much 💙
My dad loved John Denver and loved this concert. Played it all the time in the car. I was a teenager when this concert was recorded. He played the whole concert on our road trip to Missouri. That was our last family road trip, the three of us. I’ll always remember it and this concert takes me back. Didn’t think I’d lose my parents in my 30s. If you’re reading this, do me a favor and tell your parents you love them. I wish I could still tell them. I have a tattoo on my bicep to honor them, Roses because they had a row of rose bushes in the back. An anchor (dad was in the navy) to remind me to stay calm in life’s storms. A hummingbird (my mom loved birds, butterflies and flowers) to remind me to stay steady, even keel and focused in life. All three are intertwined. Anyway. I’m rambling. Take care
This touched me to the core. May your parents keep resting easy and may you always keep steady. John was a beautiful soul. His music is full of so much nostalgia and you painted your memories so vividly I could see the three of you on that road trip. Love from Nairobi, Kenya.
That is beautiful, john Denver is a gift, my dad loved him as well, hi from tasmania, a long way away from you but the music means the same, take care my friend
They say, his music is "easy to liston" type. They don't know anything! More of people like John Denver and world would be a better place to live on! Miss him! He (His voice, his music, his thougts in his songs) were with me my whole life!
John Denver was undeniably the essence of music. Embodying its power and its purpose, he understood its ability to both uplift and to inspire, and he used it to show others his perspective of the world and the part we play in it as human beings. For me, no one did it as well. No one ever will.
I cry as I type this mum was John's biggest fan we saw John in Glasgow 6 months before the world lost the most beautiful human being to ever walk amongst us his words his music mum has vascular dementia I sit by her bed and we listen to John
I wonder if people knew he wrote this for Mardy Murie and Olaus Murie. 2 of the greatest Conservarionists in Alaska. Ive been to their ranch in Wyoming for a School Trip i really wish i couldve met these amazing people
John Denver, a friend of mine, over many years , before his unfortunate accident which resulted in his departure from this place, was & remains to be one of the greatest singer/ songwriters/ & instrumentalists for the last century, a great guy, & sorely missed. RIP my friend & amigo. You will not be forgotten hombre. Terence Jon Rowland Playa Blanca Lanzarote , Canary Islands.
Vous avez de la chance (you are lucky) Quand et où exactement a eu lieu ce concert? (When and where took place this concert? ) Peu de gens connaissent J Denver en France (Very few people know J Denver in France)
Hello Guillaume..this was from The Wildlife Concert..it was filmed at Sony Studios in NYC over 2 nights back in the winter of 1995. It's available on DVD and CD.
JD is still adorable in the eyes of his fans. I feel Blessed to have been a part of the era that JD was in. He shared with us his amazing talent and his legacy lives on.....!!!
This song to me was a return to his earlier writing and vocal style. The man has some pipes, but on a song like this; the tenderness and gentleness in his voice is such a treat to hear. With the success of the Wildlife Concert, an album with songs of this calibre would have brought him rekindled fame and attention again.
I see them dancing somewhere in the moonlight Somewhere in Alaska, somewhere in the sun I hear them singing a song for all lovers A song for the two hearts beating only as one Imagine the morning no longer alone The arms of another, a place to belong No longer the struggle, no longer the night And ever becoming in the quickening light To see the darkness, to listen within To answer in kindness, to ever begin To ever be gentle, to always be strong To walk in the wonder, to live in the song In a place of enchantment where the wild things are known Will the future remember when the lovers are gone? And I see them dancing somewhere in the moonlight Somewhere in Alaska, somewhere in the sun I hear them singing a song for all lovers A song for the two hearts beating only as one A song for the two hearts beating only as one
What a beautiful song what a fantastic singer is John, i cannot stop to hear him and i'm so sad decause sa perte ne peu pas être remplacée. J'ai 83 ans and to hear him is my pleasure everyday . Maintenant tu chantes avec les anges.
I have a dvd of this concert and still play it often. Nobody else could command the attention of an audience like Denver could. Seen him in concert in Atlanta several times, you could hear a pin drop!
One of my favorite songs that he recorded. I was so blessed to see John Denver live at the Blue Roof Inn.... Lol. the Marin Country Civic Ctr in San Rafael, CA. He played all alone, just his guitar and piano. It was bliss, such a beautiful voice. His plane crash not long after. I'm so grateful I got to go. I miss him and all his future songs we'll never hear. ❤️❤️❤️
I can listen to John singing and playing the guitar 🎸 n piano all day. His voice is faultless and perfect. His song writing comes from the heart with thoughtful n beautiful lyrics. The world lost a phenomenal talent too soon. RIP and sing with angels 👼

Wow!!! My new favorite John Denver song! 🥰 I like all of the song he sang. Every time I hear a new song from him that I’ve never heard before from him, I start loving it right away. Even though, I sure wish he was here so I can meet him. Even though I’m 21 years old, I started hearing, and singing John Denver songs since I was a baby. They make me happy!

Tony Heller: Did you ever dream you would become a nationally loved voice of reason in a world increasingly embracing insanity? Thank you!
2024 and I still love John Denver and his music. My best friend and I used to sing his songs when we took our morning walks together.

Don't know you, but I always thought this was a true performance of a voice that was getting better with time. Miss him so much!
No one sings like this anymore.

I lost my parents in my early 30's, within six months. I hear you, it sure is a game changer. I think your folks would love your tattoo. God bless
Just great! The way you found to remember....
The world NEEDS John Denver today! But I really think he is way to talented for today's world..
How could anyone give a thumbs down to a John Denver song? I would guess these people are deaf?
2 people dancing in the early morning frozen Tundra with no music playing just love between them! Holding on to each other forever.TY JD 🙏
You write as though you know the experience - blessings.
2023 and I am still listening to John Denver. We all still miss and love him! Beautiful voice and beautiful song.

John lives as long as we love and play his music.
No one ever again like our beloved JD!
Imagine all those beautiful nights staring at the dark night sky when 2 hearts are one etc etc

Thank you! I was trying to remember who he wrote this about! ❤️❤️
Hi
I did. I remember him talking about them and how he wrote this song.
It’s one of my favorites.
He did, if you go to Apple Music and listen to the audio version, then you hear him tell a story about them
Yes , he had television special about them and met them in Alaska just before he died
Sometimes on calm sunny days I can hear him in the wind. Singing about life in the country.
He left us so much!

Love that sound from a twelve string guitar
His guitar in this is a six string

John Denver’s Best Song.
The Song tells a true Story! That's the reason, why! ❤
Play this at my funeral
Well, find a nice friend and have a nice waltz first -- don't plan that just yet !
Rest in peace John. I love u
I wish with all my heart that I could have found someone who I could have loved and who loved me that much. God bless all of your souls.

Hello there
Absolutely beautiful. .
I see them dancing somewhere in the moonlight
Somewhere in Alaska, somewhere in the sun
I hear them singing a song for all lovers
A song for the two hearts beating only as one
Imagine the morning no longer alone
The arms of another, a place to belong
No longer the struggle, no longer the night
And ever becoming in the quickening light
To see the darkness, to listen within
To answer in kindness, to ever begin
To ever be gentle, to always be strong
To walk in the wonder, to live in the song
In a place of enchantment where the wild things are known
Will the future remember when the lovers are gone?
And I see them dancing somewhere in the moonlight
Somewhere in Alaska, somewhere in the sun
I hear them singing a song for all lovers
A song for the two hearts beating only as one
A song for the two hearts beating only as one

Beautiful. His heart was in his music and music in his heart
And in his soul. Now his music is in our hearts & souls.
Beautiful song! John Denver was so talented. All of his songs touched my heart.
John the beloved.
May the Lord's light and love surround you and bring you peace and happiness. 🙏
One of the best descriptions of true love. I suggest reading Margaret Murie's excellent TWO IN THE FAR NORTH for her story with her beloved Olaus.
This song made me cry when I first heard it. The way he arranged it is so beautiful.
💕💕💞💞🙏🏼
Michael, I cry every time I hear it.
....can you only imagine to have such talent?
No, I can only wish and enjoy those who do
I like that Travis picking technique.
Did Travis start it? I was listening to John Denver in 1970
The most melodious song i have ever heard. John denver belongs to heaven, now. Be at peace 🎶🎙⚘🙏
I can listen to John singing and playing the guitar 🎸 n piano all day. His voice is faultless and perfect. His song writing comes from the heart with thoughtful n beautiful lyrics. The world lost a phenomenal talent too soon. RIP and sing with angels 👼
I have a woman friend whose name is Mardie Murie, and she is 93 years old
And I think she has done more for Alaska than any other single human being
And it comes out of not only her love and the experience that she had in that great land
And her love for that land
But uh, her love for the man who was her husband, whose name was Olaus Murie
And when Olaus passed away, many, many years ago
The way that Mardie kept his love and her feeling for him alive in her heart
Was to commit herself to saving the land that they both loved so very, very much
I know a lot of things I could, I could tell you about Mardie
But the thing I want to share with you is that
She spoke of Olaus always as her beloved
And they loved to dance The Waltz, especially
And they danced whenever they could, whenever they felt like it
Regardless of the conditions
And I have this picture of them out in the frozen tundra of Alaska
In each other's arms dancing
And no music except the sound of the wind
Rushing across that frozen wasteland
Or someplace in the forest or someplace beneath the full moon
And so I wrote this song for Mardie
I see them dancing somewhere in the moonlight
Somewhere in Alaska, somewhere in the sun
I hear them singing a song for all lovers
The song for the two hearts beating only as one
Imagine the morning no longer alone
The arms of another, a place to belong
No longer the struggle, no longer the night
And ever becoming in the quickening light
To see the darkness, to listen within
To answer in kindness, to ever begin
To ever be gentle, to always be strong
To walk in the wonder, to live in the song
In a place of enchantment where the wild things are known
Will the future remember when the lovers are gone?
To ever be gentle, to always be strong
To walk in the wonder, to live in the song
And I see them dancing somewhere in the moonlight
Somewhere in Alaska, somewhere in the sun
I hear them singing a song for all lovers
A song for the two hearts beating only as one
