Whilst I very much like how alien the Zentradi ships look, I am more baffled by the fact that humanity decided to put their landmarks back after Earth got glassed.
Those aren't Zentraedi vessels, they're Marduk ships, who in this continuity were allegedly the race who created the Zentraedi or at the very least enslaved them. Macross 2 is generally regarded as non-canon though thanks to this contradiction (in the original continuity it was established that the advanced race known as Protoculture created the Zentraedi) and several others, along with the fact that none of the original series creators nor even Tatsunoko were involved.
