The v2 story may be the half full battery pack...
Gesso’s are th best !! Super stylish great for all weather conditions
I missed the part about CT 2.0
same. what the heck.
Same. WTF?
There isn’t one.
Same 🤷🏻♂️
Pretty sure he meant the potential for a 500 mi CT but definitely misleading
Transferable packages should be a standard not an incentive.
Totally, since we weren't able to actually to take advantage of the FSD for years.
Agreed, if Tesla are considered “smart phones on wheels”, then your subscriptions should be tied to the person and not the car, like a smart phone. iPhone and Android users would revolt, if they had to get new subscription services, every time they upgraded their smart phones.
@@bartl.7390 even if it was 100% available now in full operation I still believe it should be for life of the user. Asking a lot of money for FSD.
Welcome to Tesla, where we get excited for new paint colors
Not uncommon, Harley enthusiasts get excited for new paint colors, and then they plunk down huge money for them… LOL Harley CVO standard and special color has a $6,000 price up charge. LOL
Harley Davidson, Toyota, Mercedes. They all do it
The best paint is no paint.
I completely agree with you about Tesla needing to alWAYS allow transfers of FSD. I regret paying $12K for it 18 months ago as I could have saved a lot of money using the subscription. If I want to give Tesla more money for a new car, the least I expect is the ability to transfer FSD, and that Tesa not play games with its loyal customers who were dumb enough to pay a steep price for software that is yet to be fully functional.
Yeah, if it was transferable I would even pay the $12k price tag. I don't get how this company operates.
The price of trusting Elon 😂 RIP
@@QATest4fun - Exactly right. I am a Tesla owner who will absolutely NOT buy another one ever.
The extra battery space is because in the future Cyber truck will be provided with an LFP battery which is larger
Fun fact: Jan 10 order for a model 3 white interior has now been pushed back to June 21-30. A 6+ month wait for literally just white fake leather. Absurd.
Thank you so much for finally bringing the lack of white interiors for the new model 3 to light. You are the first one I’ve seen to talk about this. I ordered a long range white interior jan 10. They just delayed the delivery date until mid June and counting.
Mid June?! Wow
ordered 1/10 with white interior as well and has been moved to may-june window. So happy to hear this being brought to light.
Order was Jan 10
Just pushed to June
For white interior
Thank you, Ryan 💌 talking about it. Finally no one else has for a while. Please continue to make more videos about that.
June-July now
Bro my model 3 white interior says July-August now 💀
Today, I received my second delay on the new model 3. I am now pushed back fro April 23 to May 28th to July 7 to August 18th. I ordered in January
I just got delayed again for the 4th time on the Model 3 Long Range, Stealth grey, white interior. 😞
gives you time to change to a colour that actually shows off the cars shape the greys are awful
Great choice, I love the gray.
Horrible. China can do it right every time!!! Nice job Elon 😡👎💩
The dark grey actually looks nice. Although personally I just pay for the red. It is faster.
When did you first order?
I ordered on 1/9, white interior and have been pushed backed multiple times and now to 5/10-6/14. I have no confidence this will be met.
If they force auto driving cars on me I’m not paying for insurance anymore. If I don’t drive I’m not paying.
😂😂 you have no power you’ll just get fined for not having insurance.
Who's forcing you? The lizard people? Seriously, people come up with such strange paranoia.
If you have to use a self driving car, aren't you using a taxi?
@@endysantana9448 Agreed. States such d Connecticut and others in the northeast are mandatory insurance states. Fines, points against your license and then 10,000.00 USD fine + minimum 5 years jail time.
@abdulshabazz8597 not sure what you mean. Virginia is the only state that doesn't have mandatory liability insurance requirement.
YESSS on the FSD transfer as a standard! We should not have to feel like we’ve been bamboozled!
My Model 3 with the white interior just moved out to June 29th. Waiting almost 6 moths if it delivers them.
Wow, thanks for all your hard work !!
Thanks for the information too 👍👍👍😁⚡️🙏🏽
I still think true level 5 FSD is several years away. Until any FSD can cope with a Mumbai rush hour, or the Arc De Triomphe in Paris at rush hour, it's not worth the name (or the money). Now if Tesla would only restore the abilities of "Enhanced Autopilot" that were removed when they removed the ultra-sonic sensors in 2022, that might be worth the money?
My just got delayed again order on January 11 now is July 13- AUG 18
i JUST got my 2024 model 3 last weekend! ordered late march and had to delay it on purpose because i wanted it last weekend since it was an important date to me
If the pack is only half full, why would Tesla present a range extender that makes half the bed unusable?
They could be deferring research and development as they prioritise production of the simpler/cheaper pack. Or, like the guy suggested, they are holding it back for a future competitive advantage or model refresh. In short, it's a business decision.
Tesla really needs to bring their average range into the 400s. The 80% rule plus towing and weather effects make the current ranges way too short.
I agree and definitely when the CT launch said 500.
Got to sit in a Cybertruck. Even greater in person than the photos. Love my 2022 Model 3LR/FSD. 12.3.3 is amazing.
0:44 Ordered a LR Stealth Gray with B&W interior on Jan 21st. First Delivery Date Estimate: End of March - Then, Mid April to Early June - Dates Changed a second time around the same & now the Estimated DD is early July to August. Plus, if I switch the car I lose the price lock from early order… I don’t know what to do 😩
FSD for Semi truck should provide a lot of revenue and cost savings for Tesla. Peace
One can imagine a massive charging infrastructure development along with FSD for these semis and the vehicle being able to drive 18 to 20 hours a day rather than the limited 11 by a normal driver. Imagine a person in the cab only being made alert by an approach to charge or to load and unload, other than that, letting the truck do its thing. So the driver may get paid the same, but drive at least 60% to 80% more miles than they are used to with a normal diesel where they have hours limited. Then the savings of electric vs Diesel on top of that
I love the idea of someone being so strategically ahead that no one sees the game.
Here’s a possibility: FSD 12 is based on half a billion miles driven? Elon announces they are not ‘compute restrained’. Then releases a free month of FSD.
How many more miles of driving experience will Dojo gain based on the month of 5 million vehicles all trying FSD at once. Another 50 million hours? 100? It took many years to get the experience it has. This could increase the data to pull from by 20% in a single month. Version 13 might be a driver with over a billion hours of experience.
FSD has 1 billion miles driven already. The free month adds to that.
Why does everyone like yourself always forget that every Tesla on the road regardless of whether they paid for fsd or not is always collecting data for fsd and has been since the 1st car with the hardware in it hit the streets. They are not getting extra data just because of the freebie. They were getting it all along. This is about exposing as many people as possible to the technology.
When are we gonna get FSD on Highland Model 3s and Cybertruck? Rhetorical question cause no one knows but I have a M3 about to be delivered April 24th “with” FSD but somehow I just know it won’t be accessible yet
Really enjoy your summaries of real Tesla activities, don't find unsubstantiated guesses useful. All the best
I’m confused by your comment. The video is mostly speculative when discussing what Tesla is doing as a company.
It could be that they make a car where the wheel and pedals can be removed. And be ordered with or without.
My revivifier removed the wheels an pedals from his FIAT. Of course, the car never worked, so who needs a wheel?
especially with the steer by wire that they introduced in the cybertruck, the wheel and pedals are just like a gaming joystick that you can easily unplug.
The RED is 🔥🤌
My Tesla MY tried to cut off a semi this morning. I would have been t-boned and killed if it were a robotaxi running the current software. I’m a fan of FSD, and it’s been exciting seeing the improvements, but it still has a long way to go.
Thanks for another great update.
Don't know what's changed but I am back to cranking the volume to hear your videos. You need to turn up the master gain
I would love to get everyones feedback on this question. So is it safe to say in the future that tesla could actually offer a battery pack that we could swap out if we want to extend our range still being able to keep our foundation series cybertruck. Because I've been saying to myself.Since they announced that the truck was being made by a megacast, that this truck could potentially be modular just as The future faraday FF91 car essentially that car is a modular car where you can update the battery pack in the future if you so desire.
Thanks for highlighting the issue with the white interior!! I ordered mine in January and looks like I'm getting pushed to June/July. When you talk with a Tesla rep, they react like it's the first time hearing about it. I have to make a decision soon as NJ is going to charge over $1,000 for a 4 year vehicle registration fee beginning July, on top of charging sales tax on EV's. So much for going green in NJ....
Hi Ryan. Love your videos. Thank you for raising the delays on delivery of white interiors. How can we find out more about this? What can we do to encourage a little acceleration on these deliveries!?!?!?
My Highland is literally the only one I've seen on the road in Northern Nevada since I took delivery on March 14th.
sadly im starting to see highlands here. i wanted mine to be the only one for a while LOL. but JUST 2 WEEKS AGO someone in my apartment complex got one. I got my delivery last weekend
They’re not adding anymore batteries in that pack. The reason they proposed for the air gap was for crush room in case the pack gets damaged off road.
Ordered LR M3 at the end of Feb. White interior. Went from a March delivery to April-May, then a couple days ago moved to mid-late June. I switched the interior type to black after reading some people who had black interiors didn't have their dates move as much. My date still shows mid-late June 😭now I'll still get delayed, and won't get white interior.
FSD transfers should be the norm with Tesla. They could charge say a $99 transfer fee and make it a free transfer if your car is totalled through no fault of your own. And make the FSD subscription just $99 a month.
Shouldn’t you mention that the CyberTruck AWD range was promised at 300 miles. It has a range of 340 miles plus the truck has steer-by-wire.
We need a 400 and 500 miles range. They are going to need it if they want to compete with the Silverado RTS
Full self driving is years away from being ready. This month trial is my first experience with it and what a failure. On a short 11 mile drive I am having to take over a min of 4 times. cutting corners so hard it drops back tires onto shoulder, thinks turning lanes are straight lanes, blowing straight through stop signs, merging into other cars. Oh and my favorite it has no idea giant pot holes are there. I think pot holes might be the hardest for the robo taxi because they will be blowing tires left and right.
The pack is not half full and there is not enough room to double the cell count.
Can even make Tesla cyber truck wheel covers right or replace timely!!
What I don't understand is why Tesla wants to put the range extender in the truck bed instead of the "half full" structural battery pack.
@@tedmoss Tell me then, what are the constraints?
Never heard of cooling and heat rejection? Batteries require a huge amount of cooling, you cannot simply ram into that space the same amount again, generate twice the thermal load and leave zero space for cooling. If they could have, then they would have obviously, and avoided looking like they failed massively on their previously stated cyber truck claimed range
@@992GTS-DCThese batteries are liquid cooled, not air cooled
Also all for full autonomous. It’s already happening in a couple big cities with Waymo and others.
The extra space in the battery pack is not for more batteries but for crash worthiness.
While they could double the amount of batteries, this would also greatly increase the weight, so the wh/mi will be higher as well. I can see why they didn't put that. It'll also affect the center of gravity of the vehicle.
Meanwhile in St. Louis CT sitting on the lot unsold….
FSD is still so far from working properly. I have used it a dozen times in the past few weeks and have had to terminate it every single time because is slams on the brakes for no reason, leaves me in the middle of a highway lane on a u-turn and can't figure out when to pull out into a street where there is a large intersection. Not worth the price. Maybe worth about $79/month at most.
Same, but I like it, not sure I want to give it up…maybe I’d pay $99/month, but it has flaws.
If neither India or Mexico gigafactory is confirmed, robotaxi-only scenario becomes more likely. OTOH, announcing either or both will mean the $25k car is on its way because Texas-only production of robotaxi should satisfy demand for a few years.
There is not enough space to add a complete second layer of 4680 cells.
Actually there is no space to add any 4680 cells.
The height of the pack is higher than the cells, as it is possible to put BYD blade or other cells, in the same housing.
Maybe there could be more kWh with them, but noch with 4680 cells.
Wow lucky I ordered the RWD with the black interior. Ordered in mid March and delivery date has now been confirmed for 25th April 👍🇦🇺 maybe due to being built in China?
Ryan - Thank you for great updates!
I have a quick question...
How long have you seen it take for earned Tesla Credits take after a delivery of a new vehicle take?
The $25k Tesla, less all the new tech might be more popular just because of its simplicity. Many people still intimidated to adopt.
I’ll be waiting on the filled out pack…Y Performance will be hanging around a while..
Battery pack looks mostly full except for sides empty for impact.
Why offer a range extender if the pack itself could hold more?
To take your money. Tesla money grab like crazy. They could give you a better range for your money but they choose not to because they know people will still buy it… that’s sad but technically smart for them
this is not confirmed, many have pointed out the open space at the top of the pack doesnt seem tall enough to supports another layer of 4680s...nobody have confirmed there is space enough for another layer. the top opf the pack seems to have a pretty heavy support structure and there could be extra space there for a multitude of reasons.
4680’s need time to ramp…
Im really dissapointed that they didnt filed the pack proper, they talked about a good range then cut that vastly while also increasing price. proper range with higher price would be acceptable if that is the cost they had to pay for production. CT is unique and should reflect that in specs so saving on battery is weak.. they should accept low margin on the cybertruck for preorders at least and follow up on actual good range. Im in sweden so in the near future there is no telling when or if ill get access for CT but im still dissapointed.
My speculation is that they'll launch the Robotaxi on August 8, then the $25,000 vehicle as a "1 more thing". Similar to Rivian with the R2 and R3/R3X. However, they'll probably produce the $25,000 first to boost their FSD miles driven. Then once they have more data (improvements to FSD) and regulators have been able to approve it then Robotaxi will enter production.
FSD will never work as a camera only system. It needs multiple sensors to have system redundancy. The current system still has many problems with false alarms.
Sandy said there is a 33mm gap in the pack. How would a 4680 cell fit in this space? I agree a 4695 cell may work.
Clearly Tesla thought they would get to a higher energy density 4680 cell. This is probably a factor in the roadster too
The silver paint is a bullish sign for Juniper. They are throwing out a new paint to keep people buying before the refresh.
The cyber truck resembles the vehicle from Logan‘s run the 1977 television show
its like 70% full the 30% is for venting and denting of the underside of the battery
I would like to see FSD offered at "geo-fenced" pricing to recognize that the cost of living and average incomes differ wildly across the USA. Why charge the same to customers in the midwest as you do to the East and West coast if you have the capability to charge different rates based upon location of the car being driven? Not sure that this approach has ever been attempted for any other consumer product but one does notice that the cost of a gallon of milk or a burger are not the same in the big cities as they are in some rural Midwest town. Perhaps if you are driving to and from high cost cities to rural locations you would get some average pricing model. Anyway that is my 2 cents. Either its being priced such that the Coasts are subsidizing the Midwest or its being priced such that the Midwest is subsidizing the coasts so to speak by paying an amount that is a different percentage of their average relative incomes. Essentially, a progressive service fee but one based upon geo-location rather than having the driver submit his income tax forms...
Worth noting that the cybertruck really underperforms on its range getting normally 250 real world miles as opposed to Rivian above 300 and the Silverado actually doing 400+, the Rivian/Lightning is the most efficient in mi/kwh at the moment depending where you look, Silverado does towing the best because it's really hard to beat a massive battery when towing is concerned, so the only niche the CT has is as a show pony at the moment which is fine, people buy F150 Raptors after all. It looks like the potential to double to battery could change the towing game but only time will tell. The body shape no doubt hurt the CT in efficiency.
And what’s the battery pack size for the Rivian ?
@@ssing7113 135kwh vs the 123kwh in the CT buying it 50 more miles of real world range for roughly 9% increase in pack size
This is the "Large" rivian pack which was the standard before they split it into more variants
And here I thought you meant TESLA would pay me $25,000 if I'd cancel my order.
😢
I expect geofenced robotaxis in next 2 years. If they can do it in lots of major metro areas, it will be huge.
There are already geofenced Waymo driverless taxis in a few metros. (Well, drivers are on call if the Waymo gets flummoxed.)
Silverado is like 200kwh?
Uh oh! There goes the value on the Cybertruck 1.0 !!! 🤣
That was to be expected. The question was how soon.
@@nguyep4 When are people going to learn. "Never buy Version 1.0 of anything."
@@davidhunternyc1counterpoint: of no one buys version 1, there is no version 2 because why improve in something no one brought?
@@YetAnotherGeorgeth Ahh, easy answer... buying Version 1.0 is what the nouveau riche do. People with more money than sense.
ive got mine white on white uk had it 3 weeks
46,000 left unsold from last year, what ha caused the production delays all of a sudden?
As far as NTSA is concerned if I were Tesla I would just have the car take a driving test like humans do. If the car passes test it should get its "DRIVERS LICENCE".
Unsure if you are serious, but a computer-based algorithm reacts based upon what it’s taught and does not extrapolate or learn beyond that by itself. So, you’d need an entirely different testing approach for each car than the tests for a human whom is expected to apply the same rules to many similar situations.
I don't know why anyone would want white. I love my black interiorm
I'm old school, lol. Bring back the maroon and beige interiors!!
@@TheReal_JG I got too many kids to get anything but black lol
@@codyshields3797 Yeah, that would do it.😬
FSD should have a subscription plan..
5:30) I love that BMW tried to hide the Cybertruck. A move designed by Stuart Pidd, and pointless as you point out Ryan, 'cause nothing else looks that shape under a tarpaulin. BMW in a race to the bottom!
Big Mexican Women?
FSD is the future... about 3 years down the Tesla road. A city robotaxi in about 2 years.
Full level 5? Maybe 2030 at this rate. They're rated as what, level 2 now? And still have some conditions (snowstorm) where FSD doesn't like to go.
Robotaxi is going to 1/2 Uber and 1/2 Turo. It will arrive autonomously, but once you enter the car you will drive the car yourself and accept liability while driving.
Greater than 90% of people using Uber have a valid drivers license, so they don’t need a driver, just the car delivered.
How would a strike by a Swedish manufacturing workers union impact Tesla sales? They don’t make cars in Sweden…
Is it just me, or is there something askew about the photo at 2:30? Why do the cars appear to get larger the further back they are?
It’s a super long range long lense shot so they don’t get bigger the closer they are. Taken from like half a mile or something. Weird tho
@@milescoleman910 Thanks. And yes, quite weird.
Glad Ryan is hitting on the legal issues of the robotaxi vehicles. So many legal issues and in some cities they are been trying to restrict or ban Uber/Lyft drivers due to the extra traffic caused by them. One can only imagine what robotaxi services might do to traffic. In places where they want less people driving, maybe ketting robotaxi vehicles use bus lanes will be a thing. Regardless, do not think that robotaxi will be in all major cities in just a couple of years.
Tesla compact is going to happen. Teela needs it to fight BYD and others. Robitaxi vehicles may get many to give up their vehicles, but that us way down the line.
7:19 IT does not look like it could double the pack with the empty space....
Fully autonomous taxi?? Nope, not for a long time. FSD in my model Y and model 3 is impressive but certainly NOT at 100% ready yet in my opinion.
Did Sandy's people actually measure the space in that pack? It doesn't look like half full to me. Looks more like 2/3.
Mine supposed to be delivered in March. Then they pushed to April/May. Today they pushed it again to July/August….. and if I cancel it I will lose my $250…..
The empty part of a battery pack is a vent
What is everyone ordering to get Model 3s delayed so much? I ordered a refreshed Model 3 LR blue with black interior on March 13th and got a VIN in less than two weeks! Took me so much by surprise that I drove to the nearest SC to ask if this was for real.
It's the white interior that is being delayed. You got black, so no delays there.
Good job
Just have the carctake drivers test
Ha
The new color paint is nice...I don't even like red but I like THAT red.😂 That said, what would be better is better quality paint overall. What does the color matter if its gonna chip the minute you even look at it?🤔
Quicksliver is NOT a new color. It's only a new shade of gray. More welcome news would be if Tesla added yellow and green to their colors, instead of re-arranging existing shades.
Does Tesla hide all the white cars in Cyberia?
The CyberTruck is on Display in Bangkok.
I guess the “range extender” was a red herring...
Can fill self driving handle dirt roads i mean a road 1000k long. I travel such a road every month for medical appointments
I don’t think that would be possible right now, without being supervised. If you can monitor it it’s possible that it could do close to 80-90 percent, but depends on the road. Best of luck.
The liability issue of Robotaxi will prevent it from release until FSD makes no mistakes ever. That could take years.
Do you know any humans who are perfect drivers?
@@brownro214 it's about financial liability for Tesla... and machines can be perfect
15 years at best. Can't wait to see fsd in roundabouts.

I really like to work with tesla on opening up help create a componentes based interoperability (modular) standard were everyone could collaborate and compete and use it on driving, floating and flying solar electric devices to be invented! Also make a video about the places on earth were small developers can still develop vehicles and prototype insurance offers to legalize free open source solutions! The world is full of Marshall plans, North Korea everywhere! We can do better!
FSD transfers needn't be a permanent thing of Tesla honoured FSD on their trade ins. Give customers a bonus if they get a new Tesla within 5 years of buying FSD and reduce the amount from then on. Customers get more value from their FSD purchase and have an incentive to buy a new car.
Why would the amount reduce though? It’s software that will get better. Why should the value to the owner go down as it improves?
