I think the #1 mistake is buying everything all at once; especially after you’ve seen a particular trend online. It’s so hard to make your home feel like a natural collection of your interests and personality if you add to cart over the course of a month.
To any college kids vomiting boho/fake vines/etc. in their spaces: I think part of the charm of that period in your life is being unpolished. Let your DIY look like DIY. I remember going insane with painting my walls ridiculous colors and I have NEVER done anything like that since and may never again, but I'm glad I did it then.
I have a bit of an issue with these dislikes (even though I agree with many of them) because trend cycles seem to go like this: 1. Rich person does a thing, people like it and want to replicate it, but can’t afford it. 2. DIY versions and more affordable versions become available to us common, poor folk. 3. Those photos of the rooms that were called Boho are mostly Boho Lite, in my opinion. Maybe people under the age of 40 think that’s Boho; it certainly isn’t IMO (I’m 62 years old). The all white, with some heavily textured textiles does NOT say Boho to me. Dear Paige, IMO, to do Boho legitimately, you need to have inherited furniture and textiles from family or bought it on trips, and integrated it into your residence with panache and care. Sure, you can buy a couple things at Target or World Market for your Boho pad, but that ain’t what Boho is about. In Boho, your stuff has to have meaning, significance, a story behind it. It helps if you love each and every object, too. 💗
@@vaderladyl exactly. I was born 10 years too late to be a hippy, but I saw plenty of that when I was a girl. The caftans; the bead curtains; the giant house plants; the carved arms and mohair velvet sofas... sigh...
"to do Boho legitimately, you need to have inherited furniture and textiles from family or bought it on trips" This assumes that someone has to either 1. have a family to give them a shit ton of things, or 2. have money to travel extensively. That doesn't sound very boho to me. Bohemianism is just an unconventional and artistic and free LIFESTYLE, like the Romani the term originally comes from. I agree that the pristine rooms that are currently popular don't really vibe bohemian either but how a person expresses themselves artistically has nothing to do with where they got their shit.
I am from central Europe and work in light fixtures business: let me tell you we sell those edison bulb industrial lights, especially those hanging from a narrow wooden stick like crazy in last three years, also the maxi version of the edison bulbs. I am over these..
I like them in homes but I think it depends on the decor. It really wouldn’t fit in a really warm, organic space with cane and rattan for instance. For me, I have some of these lights in my hobby space where I have a bunch of laboratory equipment, and it fits very appropriately there.
I agree with everything but the chevron/herringbone wood floors. It’s a very classic style, and even if it’s overdone now, it’s a timeless look I have always loved. Look at old Parisian apartments and chateaus in Europe-many have chevron wood floors and they are supremely chic. 👍
I do love herringbone wood flooring (in a traditional stain). She probably meant that people are putting it literally everywhere....eg. backsplash in kitchens, bathrooms, walls, etc.
@@xerxys the neutral isn't Boho. It's just someone without personality trying to do Boho. " ohhh, i don't known mix colours, so let's make without then..." BORING
Agree 100%!! I was so disappointed because I saw her part 2 first & agreed with everything she said, but then I watched this one and felt like she came for me specifically😅
dude, i can’t tell you how times i’ve picked up a nice looking home decor item in a store only to put back it down after turning it around to find some cheesy phrase in that ugly, loopy font on the back. it’s been like 10 years and it just won’t fucking die.
It's so exhausting being in someone's live love laugh house. You cant help your brain reading the words over and over everytime your eyes rest in that direction. Ugh!
I wonder how much of that was ripped off of Jonathon Adler’s stuff. I remember some ceramic or glass jars he had that same kind of script on: “Uppers,” “Downers,” and “Quaaludes.” 😆
@@Glub2 ... Laughing HYSTERICALLY!!!! first. I don't appreciate that word: cringe...BUT, luving the way you put it....and now, I'll be using YOUR phrase!!! ❣️ t.y.
Although Paige is brutally honest with her opinions, I’d say do what you want with your decor. Its YOUR home, who cares what ppl or the www says. You can have one room thats BOHO and another shabby chic or farm house. Who cares. If that makes you happy do it.
This was my first encounter with "shabby chic." I'd just moved to a new city and wandered into a shop. Everything in the shop was super expensive, but the vibe was SO GOOD--this happened in 1992 and I've never forgotten it. Almost everything in the shop was from France and it was old and beat-up and the shop was sparsely furnished. Everything was yes, shabby. It was shabby because it was 100 years old. That, to me, is the real deal. The idea that something could be both gorgeous and falling apart really changed my thinking.
I agree with you on everything except the painted arches, specifically in bedrooms. I think it's a cheap way to mimic a headboard if you can't afford one. Also lower commitment than buying a bed frame.
It is kind of a commitment to your bed placement though, unless you move your bed and find a way to fill the arch and still have it look intentional. Personally, I like to know I can rearrange furniture in my room as I please so I feel like it wouldn't work well for me. But I do agree that it's a cheap headboard alternative, and I don't mind how it looks either.
Personally I like when people get super creative with their "headboard" ideas, if it's not in the budget to purchase one. There are so many unique ways to do it, and obviously Pinterest is the best when it comes to researching and getting your thoughts sorted out when looking to "DIY" a larger project. It has to be done well though 😅
Okay Paige, I am a retired designer and I had to subscribe to your channel! I laughed my measuring tape off since I absolutely agreed with EVERYTHING! In my day it was large flowered drapery and plastic everything. One bit of history, real chevron wood floors are very historical (you can find them in the Louvre); however, chevron everything is wince inducing.
Not everyone wants to live in a modern home that changes slightly with trends. Many of the trends you dissed on are incorporating unique, important pieces to transform the space into something enjoyable to live in. Some people want to live in a mystical fairy garden. Others want to show off their antique rugs and tables that have been in the family for generations. Just because something isn't your style doesn't mean it isn't a valid style for anyone. I personally hate this modern-style white-walled hellscape we live in and will cling to all my vines and mason jars filled with fairy lights until the day I die. And yes I would love a wooden chevron wall as well.
Suit yourself. I think what she’s trying to say is some of these trends don’t look so good. Ok, they look tacky and they won’t age well. So as long as you know that, knock yourself out.
@@kimhaas7586 Idk, it depends on how it's used which is what a true interior designer understands. There are very few things that are completely out, it about design harmony and how that element is composed in the entirety of the style. I kind of cringed at the boho critique, because it's an entire genre of interior style, it can go out of style maybe it needs to re-update certain elements but it's weird to say "boho is out of style"....no it's not. Pretty much everything she listed, a talented interior designer could make look amazing in a space. If she had clients it would be difficult to start nixing most of these elements. She even referred to industrial as bad, like wtf?
@@greenluxi I think it was pretty clear what she was criticizing. It’s not that boho is wrong. It’s that making everything around you boho is like going to boholand at Disneyworld. Nothing wrong with industrial. But there’s a line between industrial and steam punk and it’s pretty obvious when you cross it. It’s like the Real Housewives houses. I can’t believe they all copied each other with the grand entry staircase. gilded furniture and acres of marble tile. Pick one but not all of it unless you want to look like you hired Melania Trump’s interior designer. She may not like boho or industrial because that’s not HER style but what she’s telling people to avoid is overloading one single style anywhere and not giving the eye a break. What gets on my nerves lately is this grand millennial everything is maximalist to the nth degree. It’s too much MUCH. And hey, if you like cottagecore, go for it. It’s charming and full of unique things. You never know when a dwarf will show up or an old crone will come to tea with a poisoned apple tart. I actually prefer white walls, a cohesive color palette (blue, green, gray and light cream), a little pattern and a transitional style with some new quality pieces mixed with ikea hacks and vintage. I can change it up whenever I want. I’m not limited by a style I feel wedded to. But you do you.
This is such an interesting video to me bc a lot of these trends speak to what I associate with distinctly US interior design trends that feel very foreign to me/my experience in people's homes in europe (central and eastern europe bc that's where I've lived mostly). Like the super farmhouse/shabby chic/mason jar/live laugh love-aesthetic is especially rare. My personal pet peeve is the uber-minimal ikea look (Ikea doesn't style their rooms this way anymore, but a lot of people I think quickly veer into this territory when they are scared of more "old"/intricate designs and details in furniture that feel more grandma-y to a lot of people), where everything is squared off and white/grey/black, and "clean" to the point that it feels cold and bland.
Agree. Not a big fan of the sterile, minimalist look myself. I prefer lots of ornate detailing, color, organic shapes, and natural materials. Old world aesthetic.
Ok, I will admit: I love Chevron flooring! Unfortunately, it has been stripped of its essence of sophistication and Parisian style. It makes me think baby shower/infant bedroom now, too.
I agree with all of this, with the exception of tufting. I think a classic leather tufted couch can add a masculine touch to a home if done well. That aside, so surprised these trends are still in. A lot of these were popular in like 2013 so I am concerned lol
It's those corny signs that turn me off. Inspirational quotes, text on walls, text on pillows, even the trendy Rae Dunn ceramics with text on them. To me the text RUINS those ceramics. It would be a perfectly nice, functional, pleasing shape and color and then she puts that childish text on it and ruins it. But she's making millions so who am I to judge. Do I really need a sign telling me to "SLEEP" in a bedroom? I want to make a line of signs for bathrooms that say "Defecate" in gold leaf cursive script. There was a sketch on SNL this past weekend about a birthday party and all the presents were tacky signs about drinking, and the signs got meaner and meaner.
Same..but I did frame & hang a dishtowel over my home work space.. 'Fresh out of Fucks'..in a very pretty font with embroidered flowers..lol my Mission Statement
All the comments hating on her because she’s giving constructive criticism. GUYS ITS LITERALLY HER JOB! I don’t know what you’re not understanding but there’s a reason people get PAID to design houses, rooms, buildings, brands, etc. because design takes skill, experience, practice. Design is not purely subjective. There are basic rules and elements that designers follow because it helps create a balance of function and form. At the end of the day, you can do whatever u want in your house, but there is a huge difference between a house designed by an average Joe with no eye for design, and an experienced designer who’s put in the effort and time to strengthen their skills to make things look/work better.
To me the most egregious sin is having all white rooms, and I mean ALL white. The furniture, the rugs, the curtains. The absence of color does not make your house more "sophisticated" and does not make you "more adult". It's just creepy and weird in the worst way possible.
I like having a white room with little but colorful accents like a pink vase or something like that. But I also have OCD (literally, not the "oh I have ocd" type of person)and I am hyper sensitive. It makes me feel calm. Too much color and clutter makes me feel anxious
Unless you are directly on a fabulous beach & aquamarine sea, and you have huge glass windows - I love an all-white interior when that is the case - but even then, I enjoy some interesting things inside because the sun does set. Splash in some art, some texture, lighting, movement … you know the thing… 😉
Tufting is also timeless and classic. If you shopped in a decent or high-end or even at custom furniture vendor you would know how often classic pieces have button tufting.
Very high end furniture stores have VERY pricey tufted leather chesterfields, because they are timeless. That matching headboard/loveseat combo was awful, though. I hate ANY fabric headboard because they get filthy. I bought one to paint in order to integrate into a wall mural, and it came out of the shipping box with greasy handprints on it. Those have been eradicated, and it can now be wiped clean, but the gross used ones have head prints on them…🤢
I feel like a lot of these things are actually cool but your main problem is that you’ve seen too much of it which just comes from everyone consuming the same media 🤷♀️ I love almost everything you mentioned in moderation.
I agree too much of one thing is a bad idea. I have to disagree on what you referenced as zig zag floors:) Herringbone wood floors have been around for centuries and are absolutely stunning (when done the right way:) Refreshing video👍
I think the boho problem is that it's really inexpensive and easy to do. I accidentally did this to my house and I'm an adult. I've always followed the rule that I'd rather look bad than basic in apparel and home decor. Years ago, like in 2012, I started collecting things from the thrift store that looked "fresh and airy". BAM, BOHO. Oops. A kind friend pointed it out like 5 years ago and saved my life.
I love almost everything you said here 🙌🏽 except.... I re-did my flooring about 15 years ago and in the den chose to do herringbone in a narrow French oak plank and I was in love. While I'm a little sad that in the last decade chevron and herringbone has become so overdone and cheesy... I will always and forever love my floors 😆
The fact that you sound so upset about all that just makes my day. I don’t even agree with you on most of tha stuff you say. I just love when people get invested while talking about home design😹😹❤️
Thank heavens style is subjective and if you decorate with the things that you love, that’s all that matters. It doesn’t matter if anyone else doesn’t like it. You are the only one who has to live there. I find it refreshing to see other people’s style in their decorating. It shows their personality. I don’t judge, and certainly would never want to say what a person shouldn’t do to their own place.
I say, do whatever makes you happy and don’t take on other people’s opinions. I am sure you would call my house boho vomit, but guess what? It’s my home, it’s about me and what I like. I love my plants everywhere, my home made crochet blankets, my trinkets and treasures. It’s probably not trendy. Guess what? I don’t care if it is “correct” as you call it. I like it! I have got to agree with you about faux vines though. But you know what? If people like it, who am I to judge?
Totally agree on the barn doors, thought they were ugly and impractical when they first popped up and now I’m SO over still seeing them. Would love more videos like this! or like how to avoid the pitfalls of buying pieces or decor that are too “trendy”
Sometimes things may not work in your space, things may be not your favorite/ personal style but it doesn't mean people should stop doing it.If it feels like a home, cozy and brings you happiness then it is not a mistake. Interior design is personal.
Once you see “decor” in Target, Michael’s, Home Goods, etc., it is dead. All I can think about is how not unique it is and how many underpaid Chinese factory workers created this crap. And how MUCH of it is shipped across the planet. Even if it’s neutral and inoffensive (looking at pillows, pots and throws), it still often looks mass produced and like somebody else’s taste. Pass.
Your take regarding chevron was funny to hear from a European perspective ! I grew up in Paris, where a lot of hard wood floor is just traditionally done that way. Now that I live in Canada I miss it very much because floors here tend to be boring/low quality. I would love to have chevron hard wood floors in my home one day, but I won't be reach enough. Here it seems to be a sign of wealth, I only see it in luxury condos. But I get that if you're from the States it just seems out of context, when it's actually a very traditional style.
Agree - the vines look cheap af. And when people put washi tape on the wall...it's not designed for that! I know upclose it looks like fucking tape! Stopppp
We decorated our apartment in our own style 10 years ago and it still looks great and doesn't scream "2010". It feels so Us that we don't even want to redo it.

First time watching. Um, she seems angry. LOL!!! That said, some valid points. Personally, I never really think of other people’s design style. I don’t have to live there so I’m okay with it. I will say if we follow all these rules we’ll have naked houses. LOL!!!!
Same, first time watching, and she seems so angry at the world :))) this is why I don’t download tiktok, I know being almost 30, I just wouldn’t vibe with all the thing kids are into these days, but let them be. There are many trends I can vomit from, and they some that I like, but saying someone is not stylish just because likes Edison bulbs, which I think are cool is a bit overly dramatic.
Angry or passionate? She doesn’t strike me as angry at all. Just very sure of her preferences. I see comments like this on a lot of channels run by opinionated women and I always hope it’s an opportunity to point out how we put bubbly expectations on women.
Oh my god a woman with strong opinions not beaming at the camera with a toothy grin. She must be angry. Not everyone has to put a loveheart at the end of every sentence or say teehee this is just my opinion everyone love what you love after every time she states an opinion which she is doing in HER space. Let's be real just like katelyn she said something that you like that she doesn't like and that's why you're commenting about her being "angry" because you're sitting there with your burnt orange arch in the background. (Which is FINE because these are just her opinions!)
@@daniellemitchell5378 i agree, she is not angry. That is a mysoginistic misconception. I can relate, because when I worked in retail I was called out for not smiling enough. That’s some bullshit. Let a woman be herself!
"Let's relax on the Mason Jars" I love this videos - strong opinions so much more engaging to listen to than diplomatic, peace and love blogger personas!
I grew up in actual New England farmhouses. No monkey ward oak, not barn doors (those belonged in the barn), no shiplap (that was primitive). A lot of Laura Ashley victorian wallpaper, a lot of 18th & 19th century mahogany and walnut, a lot of antique family photos, a lot of braided rugs. We used Mason jars for canning. Sometimes as a vase, but usually canning.
I'm totally with you in the arch thing and making the room feel less sophisticated. Arch in architecture, yes. Arch painted on wall, no. It looks childish to me
Plastic vines on the walls reminds me of when I was a kid and people would paint ivy or flowers on the corners of their mirrors to look like “stained glass”. Like there was a specific type of paint for it and I saw it so many places.
Honestly the trend that needs to end is trends in home design. Like fuck it, just do whatever you love and don’t buy new crap just to be fashionable. I subscribe to the museum of shit I like theory of decor where I basically just get decor and furniture I like and figure it’ll all match in a roundabout way because it’s all stuff I like. All my furniture and art and decor is either functional or I think it looks cool and it’s all different colors and styles but I love that I have a connection to everything and I only ever change things when they’re not working for me anymore.
I can see why this video was hated, you were a lot better in the new video, this was correct for me but hateful to those who like this stuff, with no constructive criticism
This girl has no real style in my opinion. The “modernized barn door” she prefers is literally one big rectangle with no detail. I don’t even like farmhouse but my lord....I agree with some stuff, but modern decor is bland and feels like your living in a box and these recommendations don’t help. No wonder our modern buildings look terrible inside and out when we have decorators and architects like this...also herringbone is European. You would think a decorator would know that...
Don’t listen to all the negative comments, you’re just sharing your opinions and the way you do it is hilarious and I can’t even be mad about it. I was entertained throughout the whole video and when you brought up the fake vines I instantly lost it bc I’m literally watching this in my bedroom next to my fake vines😂 great video and I love your humor and personality!!
why y’all hating? if you disagree it’s fine. i love hearing others opinions. not everything has to be loved by everyone. i’m annoyed with the fact that youtubers now have to do like 5 minute disclaimers before the start so that nobody gets upset in the comments, like “this is just my opinion i don’t mean to offend anyone if you like any of these it’s fine don’t take it personally you do you do what makes you happy feel free to disagree” UGH it’s obvious to any grown adult! just chill people. let her say what she thinks. it’s more interesting that way. you can buy a ton of mason jars and graphic text art and place it all over your house if that’s what you love, one girl’s opinion shouldn’t stop you from doing that
I just bought a tufted headboard, and i love it so much 🥰 it took a while to find an affordable one in the style i like with no rhinestones and deep tufts, but i found her!
I remember this trend in the early 00's where people would stencil those quotes onto their walls. Honestly I wish the Hobby Lobby inspirational quote trend would die a horrid death. I've always hated it.
The actual GOOD interior designers on TH-cam have taught me that interior design is personal, and nothing is a design mistake so long as it’s intentional. Just let people be...smh.
And everything in her video is her own personal opinion. Yeah she says “don’t do it” but I mean if you feel insulted by it maybe you care too much about other peoples opinion.
I love this! I’ve always been more of just buying what I truly love and quality over quantity. But one thing I hate seeing is when people buy the whole set of matching side tables with coffee table or the whole dining set. I feel that buying separate pieces makes the home even better. But that’s just my opinion.
I agree on everything except maybe the tufted furniture. I own two mismatched arm chairs in my living room that I thrifted with tufts and I think it looks fine as long as it’s not an over load of tufting with like matchy matchy pieces. Love the hot takes in the video!
Right... but just try to find a classic tufted, bun-footed leather Chesterfield at auction, they go for an absolute fortune. Those cheap West Elm knockoffs don’t do the trick.
I can't believe I am only finding your videos. I am so happy to hear that everything I think, someone else feels the same! Thank you for such great content!
Oh i used those vines for a poison ivy costume like 5 years ago 😂 i remember people having them all over their house in the 90s. With grapes. Like the inside of the Olive Garden 😬
I own a farm and TRUE farmhouse is dirt everywhere and bugs. Not all sparkly with white couches.. seriously this drives me crazy.. yes I love texture wood bowls , I use tons of glass because I can things but this fake “farmhouse” look drives me batty.. if anyone knew what REAL FARMHOUSE IS.. it’s love, dirt , bruises, sweat and really hard work.. that’s true farmhouse ..❤️❤️❤️👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
herringbone DOES NOT give a farmhouse vibe. these are the floors they have in luxury Parisian apartments, palaces, chateaus, and various aristocratic houses across Europe. I personally love herringbone. chevron on the other hand looks like a cheap knockoff.
If you use the same material as that in a Parisian home, you can get away with any pattern. Real European Oak? Herringbone it up. The reference she's given here are laminate floors or a heinous cherry wood.
I kinda sorta agree with most of Paige’s opinions in this video, except for the herringbone floors, oh what I wouldn’t give to have them in my little house. I mostly watch her videos because she’s such a pill, and makes me laugh. We should all have one friend like Paige. 🤣 💕
Totally agree with all of this. Especially your comment about never going all one style in your home. that is so spot on. I think the way to make it work without it being too "eclectic" is to try and pick pieces from different styles that have similar lines and influences, like mixing pieces that are Scandinavian, mid century and post-modern. Also, authenticity is key - I think that's what you don't like about boho, it looks like it all comes from target. I think you might feel better about it if a space used vintage, handmade and collected pieces, which is really what bohemian is supposed to be.
i thought it was funny when she started to talk about it because to me "chevrons" hardwood floors (it's called point de Hongrie in french) are really expensive and give a very classic haussmanian parisian style. But then she showed the pictures of these ugly ways of using them and yeah eww.
Don't like chevron anything. However I like a small herringbone pattern in clothing if it's a heavier fabric for cold weather. Did not even know about the flooring thing.
Right?! OMG I could never. They look amazing if you have hardly any kitchenware and it all matches and you feel like dusting all your dishes constantly 🤷♀️
Text art is the WORST. I hate being commanded to do something by signs all over my house
Exactly, telling me to "be happy" is going to get the exact opposite reaction!
Whenever I see those signs announcing how over-the-top happy a family is, I wonder how soon the divorce will be coming.

Sure, you can buy a couple things at Target or World Market for your Boho pad, but that ain’t what Boho is about. In Boho, your stuff has to have meaning, significance, a story behind it. It helps if you love each and every object, too. 💗
Totally. I am 50 and also think this is not real Boho like we remember.
@@vaderladyl exactly. I was born 10 years too late to be a hippy, but I saw plenty of that when I was a girl. The caftans; the bead curtains; the giant house plants; the carved arms and mohair velvet sofas... sigh...
"to do Boho legitimately, you need to have inherited furniture and textiles from family or bought it on trips"
This assumes that someone has to either 1. have a family to give them a shit ton of things, or 2. have money to travel extensively.
Styles evolve. This is today's version of the boho style.
Wow.. I love this
It’s actually herringbone and it’s a really old classic way to do stone work. It’s beautiful in stone and tile
Yeah I do not put parquet flooring in the same category as generic chevron zigzag which I also loathe !
She said Herringbone
no herringbone is different than chevron
@@sadiemarvin848 Absolutely, but she in mixed photos of both. Not a big deal at all, I just love herringbone.
Those hanging bulbs look good in bars, restaurants coffee shops with industrial look. But not in a home. Unless you live in a warehouse
I think they can look really nice in a home! Add some natural looking wood into the mix and I think magic can happen
Edison has left the chat.
They look wonderful in backyards! A cozy atmosphere
FYI: chevron wood floors- the most historic floor in most of Europe, has nothing to do with farmhouse
I wrote the exact same thing. She's seems completely ignorant of the long history of chevron floors.
not sure if you get her reference. chevron floors is fine, chevron overload on every single thing- is just over kill.
It’s not called chevron it’s called herringbone
@@tashawalker1275 it could be shevron or herringbone. Slightly different pattern. Have seen both versions.
@frenchfan So true. It's proper name is parquet. 💞
Herringbone wooden floors are gorgeous and classic.

The "chevron floors" are a timeless classic. It's the cheap target clearance geometric motif spam that is paired with it that makes it look bad.
My Pinterest decor board felt ATTACKED. Rip it to shreds, I'm here for it.
I cant explain how much i love this comment
Lol
I agree with everything but the chevron/herringbone wood floors. It’s a very classic style, and even if it’s overdone now, it’s a timeless look I have always loved. Look at old Parisian apartments and chateaus in Europe-many have chevron wood floors and they are supremely chic. 👍
Ditto!
Yes it’s such a classic in old city architecture in Europe, it’s amazing, I even love it when it’s worn and a bit old, it’s beautiful
herringbone wood flooring was very common back in the 19th century. Big mansions and chateaus have them quite frequently.
True, the comments denote lack of knowledge, travel, and experience.
Certainly but no false chevron on the walls, towels, wallpaper, plates... Everywhere. I think it was the precise sense of her message. 😊
Absolutely. Most classic Parisian apartments have them and they are glorious. So chic and timeless. Wish I could afford them.
All these designer channels are just opinionated drivel.
I do love herringbone wood flooring (in a traditional stain). She probably meant that people are putting it literally everywhere....eg. backsplash in kitchens, bathrooms, walls, etc.
Boho with color and personality is cool. The f*ckin boho thats all neutral makes me sick it's so boring
The colorful boho is ugly actually and the neutrals are cute
@@xerxys the neutral isn't Boho. It's just someone without personality trying to do Boho. " ohhh, i don't known mix colours, so let's make without then..." BORING

As a plant dad , yup, don't you dare touch them at all. They are my beans!
Exactly! Why are we hating on plants!?
Yes! And natural elements like plants will NEVER go out of style no matter what some youtuber says
Plants are my number one decor. The more, the better.
Plants are living friends. I have to have them.
dude, i can’t tell you how times i’ve picked up a nice looking home decor item in a store only to put back it down after turning it around to find some cheesy phrase in that ugly, loopy font on the back. it’s been like 10 years and it just won’t fucking die.
That font just kills me every time I see it. It's the Comic Sans of the design industry. It just needs to go. Away. Now.
It's so exhausting being in someone's live love laugh house. You cant help your brain reading the words over and over everytime your eyes rest in that direction. Ugh!
THIS^ also the amount of cute shirts I basically threw across the store once I realized it has cringey ass text on it. STOP RUINING GOOD THINGS

Lol I'm saying give good alternatives!
in the works 😎
Right?!
She’s really annoying & bland as hell!!!! Can’t even relate to ppl like her 🙄
This was my first encounter with "shabby chic."
I'd just moved to a new city and wandered into a shop.
I agree it’s an affordable headboard alternative! I need to ponder some alternative options to the arch hmmm. Love the feedback!
@@wasselpa I think a circle behind the bed is kinda cool but the arches need to go 😅
@@diamondcentury21 Yeah, I was thinking, "Painted circles, good. Painted arches, bad." LOL.
“Don’t be offended but I hate it” lol
YES. Your home is your space. Do what makes you happy!
I disagreed sm on this video
Sometimes I wonder whether Germans actually have access to colored paint. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Yes!!! In Europe this aesthetic is super rare and everybody is avoiding granny interiors too much until it looks like IKEA MALM drawer everywhere lol
On the faux vines:
Her: don't do that SHIT!

The only time an all white room is sophisticated is when darks, colors, and woods are the fashion, but like Macintosh or Maugham, not HGTV
@@sharpduds ***chef's kiss***
I like having a white room with little but colorful accents like a pink vase or something like that. But I also have OCD (literally, not the "oh I have ocd" type of person)and I am hyper sensitive. It makes me feel calm. Too much color and clutter makes me feel anxious
@@juliane2102 valid. Bright colors like white aggravate my anxiety and sensory issues. I like softer, muted colors because of that.

I think the boho problem is that it's really inexpensive and easy to do. I accidentally did this to my house and I'm an adult.

Always find it odd when people judge others styles. It can all be changed so why not have fun and do what you want
It's a trait of narcissism, I know more than anyone else and have better taste etc.
@@Angora573 some taste lands you on architectural digest. Some don’t.
;It's easy to be negative. Other than your ability to criticize, what are your credentials? Daddy Money?
I can't believe I am only finding your videos. I am so happy to hear that everything I think, someone else feels the same! Thank you for such great content!
Oh i used those vines for a poison ivy costume like 5 years ago 😂 i remember people having them all over their house in the 90s. With grapes. Like the inside of the Olive Garden 😬
Alternative title: Ranting about people's happy spaces for 12 minutes straight.
So true lol
Seriously
True! I've never seen such an unhappy person. She should get another hobby.
fact
Hahaha so true , glad you said it, I also ripped into her angry rant. I bet her home is very one colour plain like a boring accountant 😂
I was thinking...oh, I hope she doesn’t mention anything I’ve done...and the first one in..I’m like..OOP
Don’t worry she’s an angry gal who must have been fired from her last decor job! Hahaha do what you like . I bet her fav design colour is black
A lot of references to female things as bad. Sorority, teen mom, baby showers? What's up with that?
herringbone DOES NOT give a farmhouse vibe. these are the floors they have in luxury Parisian apartments, palaces, chateaus, and various aristocratic houses across Europe. I personally love herringbone. chevron on the other hand looks like a cheap knockoff.
If you use the same material as that in a Parisian home, you can get away with any pattern. Real European Oak? Herringbone it up. The reference she's given here are laminate floors or a heinous cherry wood.
I live in Texas, outside city limits and I fucking hate the farmhouse style 😂
That’s the thing about “trends” we always look back on them like why was this a thing? But it is hard for people to see that in the now.
I kinda sorta agree with most of Paige’s opinions in this video, except for the herringbone floors, oh what I wouldn’t give to have them in my little house.
I mostly watch her videos because she’s such a pill, and makes me laugh. We should all have one friend like Paige. 🤣 💕
Yes pls do a video about affordable ways to design your room!
Never liked Chevrons- way too busy and ultimately they look like tire tracks.
i thought it was funny when she started to talk about it because to me "chevrons" hardwood floors (it's called point de Hongrie in french) are really expensive and give a very classic haussmanian parisian style. But then she showed the pictures of these ugly ways of using them and yeah eww.
SAME
Don't like chevron anything. However I like a small herringbone pattern in clothing if it's a heavier fabric for cold weather. Did not even know about the flooring thing.
THE FARMHOUSE "ZIG ZAG" BAHAHAHAHHAHAJAJAJAJJAJAJAAAA omg I love these rants
Chevron wooden flooring is amazing especially in Parisian apartments- I see it as a classic
This made me actually ‘LOL’. Thank you for sharing 😆🙏🏻
Can we talk about open shelving in kitchens as well 😅
Right?! OMG I could never. They look amazing if you have hardly any kitchenware and it all matches and you feel like dusting all your dishes constantly 🤷♀️
I mean in the kitchen it’s fine if styled nicely but shelves everywhere else is so ugly 😩 I really dislike shelves lol
No, because seh has those haha
Oh my gosh yes, it literally grosses me out when I see open shelves by stove tops. The grease/dust mess would be 🤮
Amen! All i picture are flies sitting on clean dishes...yuk
Preach. I just don’t get the garage lights hanging everywhere. I’m like are you working on a car?
