- Stolen telehandler SMASHED by train! Alex and Josh back at it again with another insane recovery. Received this call from our buddy Rolando to respond to a pretty crazy job. I was told someone stole this telehandler and somehow managed to get hit by a train. Don't think the driver was caught, but man the damage was done.
As you'll see in the video, every single part of this poor truck was impacted. The cab was crushed, the rear axle snapped like a tooth pic, axles messed up, everything. Wasn't too sure how we would be able to access this job or how bad the unit would be, so Alex and I responded in Big Flipper, our 75ton rotator, and myself in Hulk, my 50ton rotator.
As bad as the description was, the job was actually a lot easier than I thought. For starters, Hulk wasn't really needed until the end for a small part. There was an excavator on site who provided us with some help with the tires. We were also able to back up parallel to the unit and using Big Flippers brute strength, lift and swing this unit to the street to be set directly on a Landoll.
This poor telehandler was damaged in every way possible. From the wheels, to the axles, the cab to the boom, it's ALL BAD as Joe would say. My guess is it goes straight to scrap, but who knows?
The damage isn't on par with the tow truck video I posted last week, but it's up there. What do you guys think? And if you REALLY want to support your favorite tow channel, become a member here: / @pepestowingservice

I've got my top 5 video's from 3 years now. No end in site for Pepe,s towing.
I was wondering why your crew wear dark uniforms, especially in the L.A. area. Dark colors absorb heat more than light colors.
@@slimwantedman6694 what are your top 5?
@@murrayparr3244 because pink was taken 😂
Of course we Love CRACRA stuff!
I love it. The telehandler was hit by a train and smashed to pieces and you guys are worried about scratching the paint!!! Now that is conscientious.
Haha good catch. It's a force of habit, we take great pride in causing as little further damage as possible. On huge wrecks, it's inevitable sometimes. But we aren't like the other channels who see a recovery and have no respect for the casualty.
You're not supposed to damage it any worse than it already is
Professionalism commitment to doing quality work regardless of the situation. That is awesome. People need to watch this and learn from it
Tell that to my "competition" lol
You don't have competition if they don't have respect
You guys get the craziest of calls
And that's why people love my channel. We are very blessed and proud to handle LA's biggest and hardest wrecks
@@PepesTowingService Plenty of variety keeps life interesting. Any call out is better than being stuck behind a desk, right?
Here I am a 75 yr old woman getting a load of cabinet shop waste wood in my humble old manual Ranger yesterday and a big, long trailer load of lumber comes in for a delivery. What fun to move aside for the big forklift and then time to walk around and look at points on the trailer you've pointed out for this or that use.
Pepe's Towing Channel should grow by leaps and bounds for so many reasons. Keep up the high standards!
That's awesome! I stay so busy with work that I wish I could devote even more time to this channel to grow, but I'm content with how organic it is and the steady climbing thanks to viewers like yourself.
Your words are inspirational.
We here in Canada are very impressed with your talent, patients, and it's not rocket science driving a train.
Thank you!
My new favorite channel! So damn fascinating how everything comes together. Thanks for your hard work, Team Pepe
Thank you! Glad my lil niche channel is getting some love
Josh and Alex another awesome job! Looks like Alex got a haircut! Thanks for sharing! Kevin
You make hard work seem easy and fun. Really enjoy watching you guys at work.
"love what you do, and you'll never work a day in your life". My dad says this quote a ton and often people just say that, but we REALLY love what we do. Definitely doesn't feel like work.
14:40 "Don't worry, we'll get your brother off soon" 😂😂
Josh and Alex never get a chance to get bored with routine jobs. There's always a Joker in the deck to present a few challenges for them. Great job and some precision placement, as always.
I don't like boring tow after boring tow. Mix it up please let me operate recovery once in a while or flatbed a boat with no trailer or a dead cow or two. Mix it up. Make me use my brain once in a while. Rollback operator nor-cal.
Alex and Josh together there are my favorite team
The Telehandlers are becoming just as frequent as rolled containers lately. lol
For reals they're in season now
Insurance Company: It got hit by a what!!!
Hope they had Farmers
I like the boom cam. 😅 We need to see more of it!!
Thank you! I don't use this camera enough and man is it cool
Grate work keeps the customers happy and back for more.
Nice work as usual Alex, it might be a good time to hit the boss up for a raise!!
Nice try Alex 😂
19:30 ITS A LEGIT SKYTRAK NOW 😂
For when the sky meets the track, get a Skytrak.
Great recovery once again by the A team Josh + Alex! I wonder who left the keys in the Telehandler? That person cost their company mega bucks!
Those are pretty easy to start. I carry a set of construction equipment jiggler keys to start all kinds of machines for when we have to transport them.
Looks like a brand new unit. Quite sad. Great job as always!
Y’all are the best at this stuff!!👍👍
Nice cleat image. Nice filming.
Nice job guys Keep up the good work
Great job
Fantastic job rotating the unbalanced load of the boom being extended! Stay Safe Guys
Thanks 👍
BIG Flipper, THE BEAST.
75 tons of fun
Telehandlers, the flavor of the month !
Haha for reals, and this isn't even all of them!
Another crazy call for a telehandler
Hey Josh & ALL Crew !!! Great job of getting the machine loaded with NO more damage to the RR or machine !! 👍👍👍👍👍 Quick repairs & back to work for sure !!! 🙂🙃😉
Quite often I do go out and do some Rail Fanning and see so many really stupid things. Where so many people think that they can play chicken and win. TRAINS WILL ALWAYS WIN!!!! no matter what.
Great work guys!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Buenas tardes, Alex,Josh, otro gran trabajo, bonitas imágenes con el dron.❤👍👏🖐️💪🇪🇦. Jesús.
Gracias por ver
Railroad worker was an artist with that claw!
Yup, he was surgical
The CHP loves PEPE’S because they keep the traffic moving while they recover
Every time I watch your videos, you constantly up your game. Well done!!❤
Thank you! That's the goal, to never be complacent and always improve so we can tackle these big jobs with ease and safety.
Excellent video! Combining the two things I love. Recovery and railfaning! Speaking of railfaning I regularly watch videos on what's called "Street Running Trains". There are towns and cities where locomotives run down the streets of the town, Lagrange, Ky is one example..... I can just imagine living where a locomotive comes through your town on a daily basis. Of course there have been bone headed accidents...... 🤦
Keep up the good work.
Mr Josh You and your crew made that look easy. Thanks for sharing and stay safe.
My home town is captured by the train , but, I'm used to seeing trains rolling through at 15 to 20 mph , or less, to see the train go by at that speed was terrifying.
Insane job--one of the best yet!
I'm seeing a trend here😂! this is like 4 in a row with tele-handlers!
Love the work guys great recovery
Great recovery by you both....You work great together.....Stay safe and see you on the next one
The camera angle starting 57:40 is really fun good job
Awesome job guys.
Josh,…. Big Flipper ‘n Alex, America’s premiere recovery team.
Amazing what you guys go threw I am glad I can watch what u guys do I live in utah and I still think amazing
I like how Alex was careful backing over the curb, so as not to damage the tires... Ron...
Props to Alex, good job my brother!!
Another great job guys. One of those hurry up and wait deals.
Hello Josh,
Hey man, it looks like you have a catapeler on your upper lip. 😂😂😂
Love the videos, keep up the good work, Alex also.
Glad to see Geoffrey Head. He's a dependable head. He keeps showing up for work.
1st time view from the UK. Now a subscriber 😊😊
👍 keep up these awesome videos I love watching your videos
you do a Very good job i am glad that the train crew and the rail road worker are safe
Train cars = mobile graffiti canvases.
Forget Range Rovers. They will break your heart, and your bank.
Very good video, I really enjoyed it. You and Alex got it all handled and it looks like you were working with a great crew of guys. By the way……Jeffery looks like he might have a migraine!! Thanks!😊
Thanks for another great video! I like that hi-vis green hardhat - any chance you could share the make/model or a web URL for it? Thanks!
Oh man I don't even know where I got this one! But I specifically got it because of the visor. It comes in handy when you use cutting equipment
Man you almost need a Century M100 for these types of jobs! Incredible work!
Catch me out side them tracks…lazy Josh….just kidding…😂😂😂😂
essrtE-in's In Kingre Really Interesting. I wish I could see the front of the train. Probably a disaster. The guy who talked about two rotators has a channel with 3 subscribers. I sense jealousy. The drone video was excellent. I wish I hadn't slept through optics so I could understand the distortion of wide angle lenses. Thanks always for the video. All the stuff before Really is done for me somehow.
It's always jealousy and ignorance. People like that are sheep lol. And thank you! Felt nice to concentrate on the drone while Alex did his thing
Nice work. No extra scratches or dents. The train took care of that job. That excavator was a handy addition to the team.
Josh, remember the old lady saying, where is the beef, where is the Joe,when are we going to see the THREE AMIGOS.
Joe is primarily a tower. He's there when we need his wrecker or a Landoll if he isn't busy. Alex and I operate the rotators and the ones who record hence why it's always us
Steve Martin, Chevy Chase, and Martin Short?
Bro, Love the content, just subscribed! I saw Pepe's hauling out a couple of behemoth homeless RVs in Santa Monica on another channel, it was great! The mayor of LA is telling everybody the reason they can't move the RV encampments is because the city doesn't have any heavy tow haulers! Is Pepe's getting the contract for that work? You guys would have a full card for a year just getting rid of ALL the broken-down RVs littering the streets of LA! Pepe's seems like the only shop that could get that work done fast and efficiently! Hope to maybe see some of that content in the future!
2:42 “but what do I know, I’m just a TH-camr.” That’s funny because I’m an automotive master technician and I constantly say “but what do I know, I’m just a stupid oil change guy” as a joke haha.
Alex got rid of the hair huh? 😂 Looks good
Well that was a wild one. Alex was so smooth on that he'd make it good brain surgeon. Steak and lobster on the railroad guys. None them looked like they missed any meals.
I can say it in one word : BANGLERS.
Another awesome performance 🤓🙋♂️👍 , watching in ohio
Man that fork was more of a mess than my relationship problems 😂😅
Team perfect 👍🏼💪🏼
Big Flipper to the rescue again. 💪💪💪🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸💪💪🤟🤟🤙🤙🤙👍👍👍👍
That was cool seeing the shadow of the drone, it looked like a mosquito on my screen
Pepe's lead guys Alex & Josh put on clinics for other recovery operators every time they go on jobs. They're thorough, explain what's going on, and are experts in rigging. I learn a lot about cabling from them, for my work in elevated boom lifts doing tree removal. Thank you, guys. 🤙👍
Thank you sir, really appreciate it and hope the best for your career
Парни отлично работаете ювелирно и чётко. Успехов в работе. 👍🔥🤝😉
Really strong machine..
Right! It took some DAMAGE but what a solid machine to still look this good after a hit by a train. I was expecting it to be torn in half lol
Is this the same audience that follows you to all of your jobs? You should find them a bigger shade tree.
Did someone steal the telehandler and put it on the tracks on purpose? They got tired of putting pennies on the tracks?
Diesel creek needs the forks off that unit
You guys get unique missions
The tweakers got it 😂😂
those tweakers will steal anything I swear lol
Great recovery but how in the world does a Skylift get to be on or near the train tracks when a train is due. Looks like a serious lack of communication. Hope no one was injured. Thanks for sharing your work. Following from Sydney Australia.
Love your videos, just a quick question, you leave that machine hanging while waiting for a mechanic, that seems like a lot of unnecessary stress on your hydraulic system and rigging, wouldn't it be better to set it down while waiting?
Zero additional stress.
Trains always win. It doesn’t matter what you’re driving. Sadly too many people today think the world is nothing more than a GTA game. Pretty sad, it’s looks like a brand new tractor.
Came very close to putting the sky crane into the side of the rotator during the initial lift. Bet the booty puckered a little when the swing inwards toward the truck started.
Alex you get recognized by the yellow helmet.
Looks close to a praying Mantis
👍! One tire and rim on those range rovers cost more than four19.5 tires on my old cable hooker..😎
Josh why did you go with a pusher axle for Hulk and a tag axle for Big Flipper?
Because flipper doesn't tow. It's designed for maximum recovery capabilities and to do that it needs to turn better than the other trucks
@@PepesTowingService. Ok. Thanks Josh.
trains always win
Love this channel. One question who the hell left the keys in the telehandler? Great work & you guys must hear beeping in your sleep ✌️
Cant you secure it to the deck then use the cable to pull the extension in?
Literally a Skytrak, in the sky.
Another efficient and competent job by Pepe's. Thanks for video.
04:47 - About how much does one snatch-block-and-hook assembly weigh? I don't think you fellows need to go the gym for workouts!
Roughly 55 pounds each
@@scuss2 we replaced the snatch blocks for a different model with heavier hooks and sheaves
@@scuss2 thank you for watching be safe
that thing looks almost brand new
It's the bright paint job, looks new but more wrecked than a mustang in a crowd
I hate backing over curbs, most of the time it rips off the mud flaps
That's what a spotter is here for or you can use wood
@PepesTowingService usually I forget, or to much of a hurry
@Bryan-FAA-certified we've all done it lol myself included
It was new until those tweekers got a hole to it 😂
Say hi to the Landoll driver with the orange hat. From the last video in the power plant lake
You know, for having been punted by a train, that thing is surprisingly intact. I know a couple rental outfits around here who would beat that cab back into shape, put the wheels back on it and send it back out the next day. And blame everything else that happened on whoever they rented it to.
Great job. The only thing I would consider changing is walking under the load. Hydraulics fail especially after being hit by a train. Safety First
How sad that some "joyrider" has trashed a decent, useful machine, never mind risking injury to the train crew. Good clear up on your part.
Can you do a review on how the remote works on 88
You move the levers that corresponds with the boom functions. Would be a 69 second boring video.
Surprised the FBI isn't there
lol what? Why would the FBI be there
FEDS are only interested if it a deliberate attempt to derail a train . Then they take it very seriously. They just arrested a guy in Cleveland for ot. Here it's a bunch of morons druggies...
@@PepesTowingService it could be sabotage or terrorism anything transportation could be federal crime
