It was absolutely amazing having Dev out to our cabin today, he treated my family and I with the utmost respect, he is truly a class act!

I was thinking of building a tiny home to live in as I’m getting older. I’m using the wilderness cabin as my model for my home. Love it❤
Looks like I’m in the minority here, but I like them! Granted I never stayed there before the change so I don’t have any connection or memories, but I like the idea of our own space (vs a typical hotel) and the natural light.
My husband said the other fishing bobber was Huey, Dewey, and Louie! :)

I think they look like conex boxes on the outside. Do not belong in a place called Fort Wilderness!

It's a move from log cabin camping to glanping. I really like the addition of the Murphy bed. I do wish the porch windows were sliding doors, but that doesn't ruin it for me. Love the modern-retro blend.
The old cabins had a Murphy bed before the remolded them.
The interior looks fantastic, but like the exterior look of the original cabins. 🙂
The cabins looks nice, but more like tiny modern homes instead of what made the cabins cool and unique at least on the exterior. Not shocked by this with the same place that did the Polynesian Tower.
On another note we were there the past two days and I was SHOCKED how many rides were BROKEN. Big Thunder, Tiana, Space Mountain, and Buzz all broke while we were there. Seems like some priorities are messed up.
OMG that mural in the murphy bed is adorable! Such incredible natural light, and all the art work was a great touch. I can't tell if that bigger bed in the bedroom is a Queen or a Full size? But that Matthew is one smart little dude!
I believe the main bed is a queen.
So glad we were able to stay when they were cabins! Really loved the stay in Fort Wilderness! We loved having our dog join us. We were there Easter 2021. It was amazing!
They are nice but seem smaller. Also, what architect designed the layout. Why would you put the bathroom at one end and the bedroom at the other? Makes no sense to me. Whomever is in that murphy bed is not going to get any privacy as the Guests or children will be walking by when they need to go to the bathroom. Should have been bedroom, then bathroom, then living, then kitchen, imo. Also, Disney please keep at least one section the old cabins before it is too late!

People are not happy unless complaining.
I actually think they look better than initially thought. I also do like how the bathroom is across the room frim the bedroom because last thing you want to do is be woken up by a flushing toilet.
I love the realness because my first thought about the room set up is how the parents are getting zero action! 😂
Parents are too exhausted for any action during a Disney trip anyway.
The thought of groping my way through the dark to get to the bathroom at the other end of the cabin when that Murphy bed is down is ridiculous. Why couldn't they have left the bathroom in the middle like the old cabins. And what no bathtub? A lot of people that can't have little children. Not sure who they were looking at for this new design but I don't find it very family-friendly
Yeah, you're right. I think they probably excluded bathtubs to purposefully discourage families with little kids to be honest. 😢
It's really not that far.
It's not the distance. It's more a matter that there are people sleeping on that Murphy med while everybody is trying to sneak through the living room to get to the bathroom@@kellywaldron9485

LOVE IT!
It is about nostalgia with the cabins, but the main thing also is theming. Disney used to be known for theming, that's what set them apart.
With these new "cabins" they are out of place in what Fort Wilderness theming is supposed to be.
Disney has become creatively bankrupt.
Aww look at the hidden mickeys on the chairs 🪑 and that magnet is nice and I also the open window 🪟 lighting

I think the lure on the art work above the toilet is Huie, Dewey, and Louie. The cabin is nice. I frequent the restroom at night, so I dislike the placement. We would also dislike the high windows with no shades. We like a dark room for sleeping.

I’m trying to be objective about this but it’s just difficult. I do like the inside and the amenities because I do want a nice place to chill and relax after a long day in the parks. However, I don’t see anything that would lead anyone to believe this is a “cabin”. I think the exterior should at least resemble a cabin even with the upgraded features. Trying to stay open minded and hopefully it will grow on me but right now I’m not super excited to book a stay there. Just my opinion of course….

It looks really nice. I love all the natural light coming through. The original cabins did always seem to look a bit dark. Again so excited to see the Disney content ❤️

Thanks for showing us a cabin! As a DVC member, I would absolutely stay here with my family. They are beautiful inside. I do wish they retained the old log cabin exteriors, though. The new ones look like what they are - trailers.

The new cabins look like storage container! I stayed in the old cabins several times…won’t be staying there in the new cabins. Good luck Disney!

I think the characters in the bathroom are Huey, Dewey, and Louie.
I have previously seriously considered staying in the Fort Wilderness cabins. A big part of that was the 'log cabin' theming. I don't know if I would now, unless they were significantly cheaper.
Love the Keurig addition. It looks smaller on a video. The table used to be against the wall not in the middle in the way. I’m glad you think it feels spacious. I prefer the old cabins, but the interior of the new one seems very nice. Thanks for all you do!!
I stay at animal kingdom lodge cause my uncle picked that as our dvc hotel. But always wanted to stay at the wilderness lodge or one of these

I like these a lot! I know it’s a divisive topic but I think they are very cute and modern with some Disney touches. I would stay if I could afford it for sure
I really like the new design. The decor with the paintings and murals is great, the kitchen looks fab and I like the murphy bed. One thing I do wish is that the bathroom was next to the bedroom and the bunks were in a little alcove but I’ll deal. Let’s be honest, this is the biggest bang for your buck as far as a one bedroom on Disney property goes IMO, and the old ones needed an update desperately. I’m planning on booking a stay to try them. Love the guest star at the end, btw!

Pretty excited for the new cabins! I think they look great! I did enjoy the old cabins, stayed at one a few years ago. I'm so happy they'll still have some designated as pet friendly! Also, I loved having my tesla there! Able to charge every day! It was just enough to cover each day so I never had to go to the Celebration charger (Disney needs its own supercharger on property). Great review!
This will be great for those without nostalgia for the old cabins. I've received a lot of feedback from friends and family that the old cabins don't justify the price.
Do all of the new cabins have showers or do some have bathtubs? I don’t understand why they would do things like bunk beds and step stools for kids but no tub…?
I will find that out when we stay there. I don’t understand why they wouldn’t add a bathtub either.
@@PCDev thank you! We loved the old cabins so much. Our daughter is autistic and she will not take a shower. It scares her so bad! Fingers crossed they have some with bathtubs that you can request 🤞🤞Other than that the new cabins are beautiful!

I’m not a camper so I love this change bc now I would be more likely to stay there but totally understand those who love camping and that rustic feel wouldn’t love it
We always loved staying at the campground because they had the most amazing buffet that was always easy to get into. Now that it's done being a buffet we probably won't stay there anymore. 😢
The inside looks great! They should have spent the money to make the outside look like a lot cabin instead of a shed
They are really nice, but I miss the rustic feel of the old ones. I would’ve liked if they did a modernized version of a log cabin but a little disappointed they went with modern tiny homes
I think in the bathroom the Disney artwork you didn’t know might be Donald’s nephews. Huey, Louie and Dewey. The updates are beautiful, but I agree that this is not what people come to fort wilderness for. You go for that cabin/camping feel. This is a nice modern trailer slapped in the woods 🥹

Tiny Houses don't look as good in the Fort, but I do think the interior is gorgeous.
It looks like Disney hired the same Architect the State of Oregon did for the outhouses at wilderness rest stops. Inside is nice, but they need a bit better layout. A Kid's Loft would be killer too.

Thank you for doing such an excellent job of showing off the cabins! I agree, they did a great job overall. My only gripe is the lack of a second bedroom. There's more than enough space for that. I don't think having the kids in the same room as the parents is a good idea at all. It seems like that is the trend at Disney resorts, as very few have a separate sleeping space for kids. We just stayed at Legoland last week and they even have a separate space for the kids in a relatively small room.

I wish they'd made the inside look like more of the theme the bunk beds are in They scream Disney fun cabin and the rest is a little modern tiny home show .
Also if they had like a little nook off to the side for the bunk bed doesn't have to be a full room Just a little separation . But the hangout area I do like.

Yes, some of the cabins have a ramp to get up to them.

The inside is gorgeous, but the outside screams upscale storage shed. I notice it sleeps 6 but only has four dining chairs. .... There needs to be some thought put into how well it will function with people actually sleeping there.

I would love to try one of these new cabins out but from what I'm hearing these are going to be available only to DVC members. It's sad that Disney is bringing this class war to Fort Wilderness which is a place that I have loved so much since the late 1970's.
They’re smaller than before and they shifted the bathroom
Nothing special about those cabins, and don't fit Fort Wilderness at all. What a disappointment. And why would they place the tv to the side of the seating? If anyone wants to actually watch it, how are they supposed to sit comfortably? Guess there's no movie night on vacation in those cabins.
They do look very nice and cozy however if I ever want to stay in cabin I will just get a cabin in Gatlinburg. Cause to me this isn't giving cabin.
Gatlinburg does have great cabins!
