1966 mustang tank fit great for your build. I’m also working on a 1954 Chevy truck as well. Great work and following.

I like what you did with the rear mount!!! I did similar except, I wanted a stock ride height. I might still change it though I need my block to be a bit wider just to look correct. Awesome job, keep up the great job. PS you can use the original shock mounts.

Great videos Dan. I got a question, can a ford 9” rear be modified for a Chevy, such as axles & brakes? I believe I seen some axles for a Ford 9” that will accept a Chevy lug pattern but how about brakes? I’m trying to make mine a 5 lug (currently 6 lug) Chevy pattern with drums.
Thanks & keep up the good work👍🏽

Anything is possible....you could be getting into some very expensive stuff though!

Do you know if there is a newer year of a 3/4 ton axle for a 1952 f2 pickup that would fit on the original springs

Not sure, I used what I had and made it fit by moving the spring pads and eliminating the torque tube for a driveshaft.

Have you ever installed a 8.8 ford rear end in a 51 chevy truck ,I cut one down for my 51 but come to find out it won't center to my stock frame any hints on what can be done.

ford rear ends have an offset pinion...have to take that into account when modifying

On your axle replacement with a 8.8 on your 51 chevy truck was it more narrow after cutting it down compared to to stock ,doing same thing on my 51 but want to make sure I fill the fender spacing , would that mean using a wheel offset with wider tires.

This one was only an inch narrower than stock...moving the shocks to inside the frame rails was where I picked up room for fat tires, thanks for watching!

Dan ,great videos keep them coming is that truck a half ton I have a 3100 truck but it has a dually rear underneath the frame it looks to be from the same era

Yes, this one is a 1/2 ton. Maybe a swap was done on yours back in the day...farmers are pretty resourceful.

Hey Dan, just found your video, I’m putting in 9 inch in my 1950 Studebaker truck, I was wondering how much wider the 9 inch is than the original rear end you took out. mine appears to be about 4 inches wider not a big deal but just curious.

This 9" is actually 2" narrower than the stock Chevy...it's out of a '64 Fairlane.
