I remember tearing it up on Thursday nights (maybe some others) at West Chester University in PA to this, and SC and all other jams...they played in town and hung out with our loosely based crew. Great times, great band...seems like $hit will never be the same. Music - or the way life was.
I had a copy of this album on tape when I was 11 or twelve. Loved it. Freshman year of high school i got to see them in a small venue on st.marks place, Cony Island High. It was a school night and my best friend and I went to see them. The place was packed, we were the only kids in the place and they completely rocked the place. To this day my favorite show that I went to. Its a shame all those small clubs dissapeared. So lucky i caught the end of that era. CBGB stung the most when they closed. All these legendary musicians got their start there, i never understood why a bunch of them couldn't come together and save the place. Its a shame. Now its a botique or something...smh
I was a huge fan and in 1997/1998 found myself playing music and crashing on the floor of a loft/studio space where the director of this video, Jenny, was also living. Fanboy me was some excited when she showed this to me. Still love this band a lot.
The punishing wall of drop-tuning guitars didn't hurt either. The 1990's was the perennial decade of bands whom were "heavy without necessarily being metal".
Quite probably the greatest rock song of the 1990s accomapnied by a charming video. I wonder what became of the extras in this video? I hope they are still alive and enjoying life.
I don't think there's a more 90s band who captures the vibe of the era. Their music videos make me think of Nickelodeon (Pete and Pete, Salute Your Shorts), Kevin Smith Movies, going to Arcades, the Mall, etc. Too bad that technology got better but everything else went to shit in the process.
Howie Morentz, the hockey player on front, died from complications of a broken leg. What a follow-up to the debut and what a great live band. i still have and wear that shirt---quality merch!
I was an emo kid in the 2000s but I knew some older people in the scene who remembered AoL because they were from the area. Several of the venues they played, like Cat’s Cradle and The Brewery became emo hotspots. I thought this song sounded like old school emo. The sound that started with Texas is the Reason and eventually became A Day to Remember.
There they go, fucking up the ratio. Biting on the skin that hangs off a hangnail. Biting on the skin that hangs off a blister. On the helping hand. Strike up the band, nail down the random. Calling out the A&R, A&R. Strike up the band, turn off the random. Calling up we're A&R, A&R. Got nothing to say, and you say it anyway. In addition to your own weight. Drive it into the ground, and you sing in a drone. At the wrong time and at the wrong time. Strike up the band, turn off the random. Calling out the A&R, A&R. So full of shit, let's write some hits. Here come the A&R, A&R. The lowest part is free, but he can't leave home. Cause he can't leave the signal alone. The lowest part is free, but he can't leave home. He can't leave the signal alone.
The song's about the frustration and disillusionment with the music industry, specifically the role of A&R in pushing artists toward commercialism and away from genuine artistic expression.
The chapel hill scence had some great bands unfortunately they were outshined or overshadowed by Seattle. The music industry gobbled up and then spit out a lot of good bands in the nineties.

saw them opening for Flaming Lips and this song got stored in me like DNA
You should brush your teeth after someone does that with you.
they are absolutely amazing and always will be
Distance is up,
Static is down
And the all the east coast
Has burned down
Same for you
Same for me
There's nothing here
But PCP? BBC?
THERE THEY GO FUCKING UP THE RATIO! I've heard this song atleast 750 times since 1995 and it never gets old.

Still love this band a lot.
Any idea if this was filmed at the Fireside Bowl in Chicago?
Most underappreciated band in all of rock
love
THEY’RE BACK
It was the drumming.
Best part of these outstanding early-mid 90s alternative bands
The punishing wall of drop-tuning guitars didn't hurt either. The 1990's was the perennial decade of bands whom were "heavy without necessarily being metal".
@@hamupinhere Well said.
"Louder than Heaven"
Fucking correct. 🖤

Loved them since 1993!

Man the golden age Nick vibe is spot-on. No wonder I'd find them so mesmerizing despite having just found about them earlier this year.
i always wondered what the second vocal track is saying during the verses
Stumbled across this song....never had it on my other albums. Love it!!!!
Bc it was on an EP! Archers of Loaf vs The Greatest of All Time! Every song on it is a winner
Sweet. Heard this the other day on XMU for the first time.... Kills on the house system.
Dammit, I really miss the 90's...
insane song
And a great one at that
Why is this song so fucking awesome?
Just beautiful chaos
I fucking love this band
Fuckin insane song! So powerful.
Emo will never die. So incredible
Tips perfectly into Freezing point. Are these guys still playing the greater western Sydney all ages gigs? I wouldn't mind seeing em go around again..

One of my all time archers songs :)
Still rocks
Yep
I have awesome taste...
I really don’t like Math rock but if this is Math rock I’m a big fan. The guitar riffs are powerful as hell, and the energy is pure as heaven.
Definitely not math Rock. Isn't that tortoise or shit like that. 😂This is too spontaneous real and emotional. But not emo either.
One of my fave bands!
@@billykilgannon Really? I have seen other ladies at their shows.
So damn good.
What a track....
Among the best Loaf tunes, but this freaking video makes me seasick.
Right? Seizure-inducing.
Wow. Alot of semi recent comments. Thought these videos had been up for over ten years, maybe I was wrong.

Bad ass
Eastern exposure 3
Nothing 2 say but you say it anyway
Eastern Exposure 3 brought me here...
SNEED
Great song but it’s possible to have too much editing
member when music was good? .... I member.
I LOVE this band, but this video gives me a wicked headache.
Taylor Swift secretly listens to the LOAF! So does Katy Perry. Billie Eilish crys and hides in a closet when she hears this.
I made strikes on nothing but internet schooled ideas.
