Wow, a most interesting Arduino OPTA PLC Instruction List video. Can the OPTA be hooked up to the new Raspberry Pi-5? If so, then a camera and OpenCV can detect and measure objects.

I would look at Node-RED. This is a flow-type IoT-enabling software programming package that can communicate to many devices, including PLCs.

Node-RED has a node-opencv flow. So you can use OpenCV within it.
