For Christmas I received a set of Dumont pliers to add to my cheap set of Amazon. They are revolutionary, their less of a spring feel making holding small watch parts so much easier. I wish I would have spent more on these earlier in my journey. Great video and information as always, can't wait for the book and watch, I'm patient for both knowing how good they will be.
Thanks Kalle, I already made a lot of tools myself. Beside it's cheaper, you learn so much in how to manipulate watch parts. I wish you all the best for 2025❤
I noticed a couple of tools not included in your $35. Your anvil, hand levers and movement holder or oil. I made my first oiler out of a paperclip I don't recall if I filed or hammered it.
I have two Bulovas from that era that were handed down from my Dad. I will at some point restore them. But I will have to improve my skills before I on them. Thanks Kalle!
Thanks so much for this .. expensive tools are great ... but getting started ... this video shows what can be done ... and shows where to start spending money.. like the tweezers! Happy new year
Very interesting! For me, as a beginner hobbyist, acquiring a digital microscope turned out to be critically important. The cheapest no-name one from AliExpress (but with a display). Also, there's a lack of punches with proper points - trying to use Chinese plastic tools for placing the arrows is pure masochism 😞
Oh man is this going to make me feel like an idiot for buying so many tools! Can’t wait to watch this as I’m sick at home. Love these videos that are different from the normal. Thanks for your hard work and dedication to this channel 🙏
I purchased a Waltham 645 Railroad grade yesterday. It's in a factory stamped salesman/display case. In excellent condition, runs great..all for $227 winning bid. Entered for algorithm purposes.
Many familiar sights and feelings in this video. No wonder I'm often a nervous wreck after fiddling with one of my watches. ;-) Groetjes uit Duitsland en een gelukkig nieuw Jaar 2025!

Kalle-The problem for me starting to do this is I will have a load of bits with no clue how to get them back in the right order!
This might help Richard! th-cam.com/video/hSvkcQFJMfI/w-d-xo.html
I bet the watces amplitude and rate would be exactly the same even if all tools used in this repair were bergeon or swiss made.
u like MacGyver man !!!
Isn’t this a re-upload?😅

@ i didn’t read it i just remembered that I saw it before.
this is how we do it in prison
What did you use for oil?
I wouldn't use budget lubrication, so I used Moebius 9010, 9020, 941, HP1300 and Molykote DX grease.
:)
It’s all crap Bergeon the best !!
