It’s a little reference to the CGI Cannon where hiro was supposedly the first Engine on Sodor. Or He’s just on of those random engines from the Railway series

Plarail was designed to fit a loading gauge with their risers, meaning there’s a height limit. That’s why the funnels, domes, and other proportions tend to get squished so they can fit under these clearances.
TrackMaster actually could’ve fixed this as they don’t follow the same rules as Plarail since they’re a separate entity from TOMY, who had to design Thomas and Friends to fit in their already existing lineup rather than changing the entire lineup and toolings to make the engines taller.

for how I got my Edwards, my first one was in 2012 or 2013. I was going to church with my grandpa when I passe dby a garage sale, and saw the plarail talking Edward. I ran and begged my parents to buy it for me, the store was kind enough o hold on to him until I got back from church, when I got back, I picked him up for 2 dollars, to note I live in South east Asia where plarail was more dominant than trackmaster. then years later his face fell of and disappeared, then he was lost forever. years later a few months ago, I bot a box full of old tomy stuff with a busted tomy Edward without a tender, side rodds, and a yellow face. then I finally found a plarail Edward a few days ago with track, and picked him up for 18 dollars. and now, I'm waiting for him to arrive.

I got my plarail Edward about 1-3 months ago, he’s in mint condition and came with a green express coach! It looks as if both models are BNIB (brand new in box)

In all my time of collecting thease I never knew about that Original version of Tomy Edward. I think its the best actually. The face looks more like the edward from the show.

I got my Plarail Edward back in 2018, not the redesigned rubbish that came that year, but the classic version that was around the time of its discontinuation.
One of the reasons about the classic Plarail Edward, is that you have to be careful with it due to the wires that might break off.

I agree. If you ask me, Plarail should've just re-released the 2003 model instead of just resigning him. They did it in 2012 so why not do it again? It would make them a LOT more money and it would help collectors who didn't get this model in 2012 get a chance to get him and we wouldn't be paying a ridiculous amount of money to get him.
I tend to stay away from sellers that don’t show the actual product. Example ( stock photo Edward seen in this vid)

There’s one Edward model you forgot to talk about. The 2012 Edward from Trackmaster. The 2012 Edward is kind of a mix of both the original 2003 Edward and the 2018 Edward. I say that as in the 2012 Edward has the separate tender and AA Battery compartment like the 2018 Edward, but it also has the correct wheel arrangement like the 2003 Edward. If you are like me and want an Edward with a separate tender and correct wheel arrangement, I highly recommend you get the 2012 Edward. I know that model doesn’t have the white running board like the 2003 Edward, but hey, that’s Trackmaster for ya.
I was only talking about The Plarail releases of Edward, Trackmaster Edward’s are irrelevant to this video, so that’s why I didn’t mention them

Honestly, why didn’t they just reuse edward’s chassis for Molly? People now a days like doing tons of RECOLORS anyways so why don’t they just reuse edward’s wheels for Molly instead of making her a tender-pushed engine?
