    I have been driving for years! just about a month ago I was on the freeway and suddenly I felt like I was about to lose control of my car, I was going to crash! I played it cool, I took the following exit and I decided to take the street until I made it to my destination. Since then I couldn't for the life of me drive on the freeway even though my whole routine depends on it, making it to school and making it home. Just recently I became obsessed about driving that it really made me depressed and I thought of not even going out anymore. I do remember going to the eye doctor a while back early in the year and I asked about the sudden pain on my left eye (my family has glaucoma history) and they did tell me that one of my eyes was a little tilted. They did some sort of exercise and it sort of helped, but lately I have been feeling this sinus pressure in the center of my head. This actually took the words out of my mouth. All of this to the T. I drive daily and I have never had an accident, but even when I get into a car as passenger and they decide to take the freeway, I get super anxious and my hands sweat like crazy. I actually thought about being stress but that cannot possibly be. Hopefully I can visit the eye doctor soon. Thank you for this!

      I feel the same way driving and over 15 yrs it has progressed from driving on the freeway being an issue to even driving on the streets. Feels like the short drops on a roller coaster sort of'; very unpleasant and unnerving. This began shortly after a bad ear infection and a car accident. For years I had no idea of what could even be the cause and today still trying to get to the bottom of it. Getting vestibular testing soon to see if inner ear related. Misdiagnosed with anxiety all this time. i wear reading glasses but will have an eye doctor check for this condition. I want my life back!

      I have the same issue. Have you figured out what it is?

    • @Bel0ve01
      @Bel0ve01 ปีที่แล้ว

      OMG!!!! your story is similar to mine.. It started when I was driving on the freeway. I was a bit anxious and stressed that day. The irony is that it rarely occurs driving locally. HOLY! I literally had to pray! Initially, I felt as if I going to have a seizure. (never had I before). Every time I switch lanes and my head, I see objects in the front of my vehicle shift. The dizziness would come in waves lasting a few seconds at a time. It was debilitating! The only thing that sorta ever so slightly helped was to set my head all the way against the headrest or added pressure with my palms on the occipital lobe of my head. At times to gain control I held one hand on the side bottle stand. Every time I move my neck forward and away from the headrest is when I felt like I was losing control of the vehicle! The WISE move to make is to pull. over. To be honest, I truly thought it would stop. Do your symptoms exist?

  • @leaangelawilliams2947

    I’ve recently developed symptoms, travelling once a month on the same highway to visit my mum 3 hours away. Depending on the speed limit, I travel between 50mph and 70mph (UK). The symptoms start in the same location each time - once I’m on the highway. It hardly ever happens when I’m driving in residential areas. My symptoms are my eyes feeling like they are rolling back in my head and THE CAR IS MOVING BACKWARDS, the sudden feeling like I am going to pass out and lose control of the car. Sometimes my right arm goes into a numb / tingling sensation. I do believe there is some form of panic as it feels exceptionally scary. I’ve thought it was stress or blood pressure even, however my BP was 100% when I tested it immediately the last experience. I have not been to the doctors yet as I’ve not been confident that the NHS will have any clue with the current health crisis. I’m so relieved to read the below comments as now I have some direction as to which specialist advice to seek. I have recently had a sharp decline in my eyesight and a couple of head concussions, so I am convinced it is my eyes.

      There is a real difference between an ophthalmologist and optometrist. Make sure you are being seen by an ophthalmologist for Binocular issues. I had Optometrists tell me I was fine for years. Vertical Heterophoria among others was the cause of my issues... so much needless anxiety and wasted time....

    I have similar symptoms when I drive.. but I notice it's worse going to places, as opposed to coming home. So I've assumed that dread is an element of my driving dizziness. Has anyone else experienced this (?) The fact that my dizziness is usually worse going to work, getting groceries, etc, makes me think dread influences it some, but I don't know. And it will basically disappear for months, then suddenly reappear.. is that consistent with heterophoria, or seem more like anxiety.. if anyone has insight, please advise..

      I had a cavity filled about a month before I started getting dizzy. But it was not mercury, it's the new stuff but I believe the shot they put in my jaw to numb it and the drilling may have caused vibrations in the inner ear that messed things up. Or it is eyes, or neither. It's so hard to know without testing and treatment.

    I also suggest seeing someone who takes your insurance. I went to someone 2hrs away from this website being told they were the only ones who could help… $1000 later and glasses i cant wear, i had a second opinion via zoom and he could tell in the camera my RX was off and said to get a second opinion. Found someone NOT on the website, 5 min away. Way more tests also. This place i went to said it was an extensive 2 hr exam…. It was a quick, regular exam- some machine eye tracker that clearly gave the wrong RX, one test with a red spoon and tried a few lenses. Then i walked for 10min and looked out a window. Said my vision was clear but odd and i didnt know why, dropped my pen while walking back - coordination NOT better and the last 30min was sitting talking about anxiety coping. Huge waste of money, time and beyond discouraging. There are many people who can help with this outside of this website…. And some, more so.

    Three progressive visits and 4 pairs of prism lenses later, I'm sad to say that I am pretty much back where I started- still unable to drive on the freeway. The neurovisualists are probably well-meaning, but I would check with my ophthamilogist first. I recently learned they can also prescribe prism lenses. It was def a disappointing and very expensive (monetary-wise) lesson for me.
