- Shadow Company AI in DMZ is now friendly with season 5 update of Modern Warfare 2 so I created a cinematic showcase of their combat moments.
DMZ is an open-world, narrative-focused extraction mode where Operator squads have free rein to complete faction-based missions, take on additional side objectives, engage with enemy Operators or AI combatants, and search for valuable items, all while fighting to survive toward exfiltration.

Seeing all these AI engagements with their vocal interactions, animations, and reactivity makes me wish for another big battle mission like MW2’s Wolverines, Exodus, or Of Their Own Accord where you can just watch two armies fight each other. I feel like most recent CoD games have ditched these for more scripted and scaled down missions
MW3 should have the Russo-American war since makarov is in that game.
This is what pissed me off most about the new MWII, there was none of that! Everything was tactical small unit spec ops. The original modern warfare line up did a good job of switching between tactical Spec-ops and full blown combat missions.

@@noneedtoknow07 yeah, like how you would play as SAS in one mission, and a Marine in another. It showed you the two sides of combat, which i think has a way better feel.

Did they add a basic shadow company operator in a previous season? I was disappointed there doesn't appear too be one now, velikan and graves are neat and all but I'd rather be a regular shadow company grunt
5:07 dude I always wondered why sometimes I lit an ai up and lost them they would take so many shots the next time I saw them, I had no idea they had the ability to just put more plates in like us. That’s dope.
They also revive each other when downed.

Yeah I saw a konni ai plating too but I killed him
AI is actually pretty smart, but i wish they would react to gunshots more, like flinch and lose balance when shot at or try to dodge your line of fire. Games like older CODs, RDR2 and Uncharted 4 do this best, and they all have very lifelike NPCs.

@@PerseusCW cool but there has to be something more than that, because i think their biggest problem is they barely have any self-preservation. For some reason they really love staying out in the open when they see an enemy, and their lack of dynamic animations gives them a bad illusion that they're just waiting to die. Compare this to OG mw2 npc wars and you might understand what i mean

Considering that Shadow Company is now "friendly", I really wished they show up as blue dots on radar and on screen, because they're very difficult to distinguish from Konni in the heat of battle.
YES I feel your pain, some times tier 3 Konni grunts melt me cause I have to get in their face to ID the uniform.
I think that might be intentional, shadows being in the maps doesn't necessarily make things easier for you since you now have the added difficulty of having to ID your targets first, and not every featherless biped you see on the map will shoot you on sight, which also means you don't get to shoot on sight as well

Not bulldoze though. If you don't help them when they are fighting, they usually lose.
Something I noticed though (could be wrong, just an observation), is that the number of shadows deployed when they start fighting has increased. It used to be like 5 or so, now they come in 15 to 20+ numbers, with more full armored grunts, than the medium and no armor ones.
In real life, the Russian PMC is the best in the world and they would have destroyed the American PMC without any problems.
These skirmishes are intense. If only Konni could stand still long enough to get a good look at their game models like we can with shadow company right now.
They are pretty much the same but with red accents that are hardly visible. I have to be really careful who I choose to shoot on Vondel
It’s the generic all black outfit with some red sprinkles in, frankly character design is getting lazy with everyone dressed in black, miss the days of Gorkas vs DPM camo
Shadows are still my favourite faction from a MW game I've liked them since thay where introduce in the original MW2 but they just got better in the new MW2 graves is like my favourite character out of this hole game so cool👍🏻

The Ai doesn't really seem to know what game it's in but the fact that they communicate and coordinate with eachother is cool as hell and really should be a basic feature of most games

Tip: Look for red on various pieces of clothing; those are Konni soldiers. In other words, red is dead

i'm sad that they took the active combat zones out of dmz bc they were super fun. I wish they'd make a separate sandbox mode where there's no enemy players and no crazy looting and stuff it's just one giant combat zone of you and the shadows vs konni group, kind of like a solo player war mode almost.
I love how advanced the AI looks in MWII, DMZ really doesn't get enough recognition, it's so much better than Warzone. My only issue is you can't treat the Shadows like Marines from HALO and have a small squad (if you're a solo player), can you imagine kitting out an entire squad of Shadows and running around commanding them through Vondel or Al Mazrah or B21? That would be fucking awesome!

Me and my friend thinking the NPCs were shooting at another group of players so we hid for like 10 minutes only to find out it’s NPCs fighting each other 😅
HEHEHE. You can tell bro. Their firing has a rhythm. Players spray, AI shoots in bursts. They also only use a specific type of weapons, weapons players don't use. Like if you hear suppressed fire, it's 100 percent a player.
Call of Duty needs to add a map where players fight with AI in their team

Yeah, but invasion still has players. What we need is a grounded, super realistic mode with just AIs and players. Imagine super low TTK, super high damages, and realistic wounding effects. You die, you stay dead. You only get knocked if it's a bad injury to the body or legs or arms, not your head from a sniper. These would be neat to see. Imagine having this free roam campaign RP type of deal, where you infil with 20 AIs which you can command with speech recognition (it's really easy, like a few lines of code, don't know why they haven't done it yet), and have to check corners, and play like how real soldiers do CQB or warfare.

Shadow Company is my favorite faction and its good to see them kicking konnis Ass instead of the usual Player cannon fodder.
if they released all of these as skins in the actual game i would buy every last one of them.. these are easily the best types of skins to be made for cod
Unpopular opinion but i find konni skins and aq disguise really hot, hope they at least release those disguise skins at one point

one thing i noticed is that at 2:50 that shadow company soldier's helmet manages to take a bullet, even though it appears he is wearing a bump helmet, which are used for mounting NVGS only and dont provide protection.

5:26 The details on this unit is quite decent. The way he was hit, he warns himself at the radio. The second that I loce this part is when his helmet was shot down, it completely dismantled into pieces: Mask, Eyewear, and the Tac helmet itself.

"Winchester" in the air force is a callout for not having any more ammo/munitions left on the aircraft, but idk if it's also used by ground troops or if SC uses that as a low ammo callout as well

I really do like this, but I have to constantly tell my friends to watch their fire; one of them is color blind and can't tell Konni from Shadow unless I tell them
And tell me why can't multiplayer look like this? In the sense of several factions and several types of soldiers depending on the weapons they use, instead of hordes of operators who can be a possible customization of a given class.
Well customization is always important in CoD and while having the modes from Battlefield is great, let’s not turn it 100% into Battlefield.

Considering both Terrorists and Cartel thugs have access to UH60 Blackhawks, im pretty sure in this universe some hacker managed to leak its blueprints on the dark web or something like that.
I think everyone just has Blackhawks in this universe for some reason. In MW2019 I died once or twice on the last mission because Barkov's men for some reason use a Blackhawk for insertion when we were the only ones using them for the rest of the campaign, so I hesitated to send the boom boom on it

A tip from me on this map: look for the color red: bandanas, masks, anything red on various pieces of clothing. If this specific color is seen on someone, those are the bad guys (Konni); you're good to open fire on them.

I liked AI battles because it's fun to watch and how they react, speak, give warnings and such more. Like i played in Titanfall 2 multiplayer like one of the grunts gave a warning about enemy Pilot nearby which caught me on guard mode to watch every corners or such.

I'll say this everytime. They really got a chance to get back custom factions to this game. Shadow Company, Task Force 141, this new faction too, let's call them "the russians".
But well, we know why they didn't do it, so they can put operators in store bundles and not care much about their lore of WHY they fight on said faction.

i love how the AI shadow company soldier puts on his armor plate, that adds more realism to it i enjoyed watching that part 😂
Great animations (especially with compression when they move, check Ronin tactics you'll see what I mean), but very bad intelligence. They should hire a few ML developers, they'll make the game super realistic. Like we can add speech recognition to communicate with friendly AIs, we can add more automated animation like TLOS, we can add stochastic decision making using Reinforcement learning so they really would weigh their decisions, and can even train them on hours and hours of real life soldiers, and have it get fine tuned when they fight players and other AI.
You can make this so so much better with better AI, they can even add unique generalized voice lines. So, the AI would generate what to say to other AIs, instead of having a finite state machine with a handful of recorded dialogues.

They’re speaking with British accents - there’s deeper lore but in short, Konni is/was most likely posing as a British PMC unit, “Crown” for a long time. They also took control of Vondel under the guise of being a Peacekeeping force
