Brother labels are overpriced. Off brand work just as good.

I got up to the step of choosing my printer but it wants me to put in the password for the Brother network which I have no idea what it is.
@@regandey5847 I FOUND IT! The instructions that came with my new one said, "The lable printer's default password is: 111***** where the stars are is the last five digits of the product serial number." (Found on bottom of machine.) :)

Bought one today on the strength of this video. It doesn’t want to print EBay prepaid shipping label 4x6, it just blinks. Four hours later I eventually get it to print by Cropping> saving in photos > sending from iPad to print. Thought it was going to be easy?

Any tips on Mercari printing with this printer? I really like it. And I’m confident we can print a full size label...but so far it’s stressing us out. It’s printing in Landscape view with the extra information page attached. The barcode & address is so tiny.
Mercari doesn't format for any thermal printing. You have to crop it on a computer. It's really a shame mercari hasn't updated their settings to support 4x6 😔

@@TM3XOXO hi 👋 Taylor, I actually did a little more research and went with an older zebra lp2844...thermal printer due to its price point, ease of b use, and that I have a Dell I use only for printing and a few other small projects. I will at some point try to find a decent thermal printer that I can use with my iPad but i haven't as of yet. I am still open to suggestions for sure though!. Hello Eric. I sell on Poshmark and I do everything from an IPad Air and I was wondering if this is still the best printer to use. I noticed this video is from a year and a half ago so I wanted to double check before purchasing. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
It's a great option however Rollo is going to be releasing a wireless printer this year they say that I believe will be a little cheaper and use nonproprietary labels.

Works with poshmark but what about mercari, vinted and kidizen apps?
Mercari doesn't format for 4x6 printers yet, hopefully they will eventually. I'm not sure what kidizen is, it prints 4x6 shipping labels so it would be up to the app development to correctly format them. Hope that helps 👍

Are you on mobile or PC? You can on PC with Adobe reader snapshot method.

Can I change the format label size
The mobile app pulls it up to print it with the address and a invoice or something and the label is sideways, so I can’t get it to print with the app

I have this printer. It is awesome. The only thing is when printing ebay labels they wont come out by 4x6 i have to take a screen copy n crop then i can do it
eBay app is finicky for me on Android. Email it to yourself or use an iPhone. Never had an issue with iOS or emailing it to myself if it doesn't print. I swear it's in the eBay app somewhere that's buggy.

Yes you can print from any printer.

You have to change the settings to 4x6 I have the same labels. They are different size than the starter roll.

You can directly connect to the printer with wifi direct connection but it's easier with a network. Yes it will work with etsy and Shopify

Most likely your label size is not matched with the print size and it's sending an error code because they are not matched.
@@thecollegepicker When I try to do the WPS connection, after the WIFI button goes to solid green, the power button starts blinking red. Been trying for an hour and haven't been able to find a solution :(

Yes I think that would be a problem but this does have Wi-Fi connect also, I have a video on that on my channel as well.

Hmmm did you change poshmark settings to 4x6? Otherwise it generates 8.5x11 and won't print correctly.
This printer is hard to find. Has it been discontinued or are they rolling out a newer version?
They sell out fast due to supply issues with the virus.
This is very helpful. My only question is... are you able to format Mercari labels to print on this printer? They default to half of an 8x11 page, but I've seen others that shrunk it down and were able to print it on a Dymo 4x6 label. Could I do this on the Brother software?
Mercari needs to come out with a 4x6 option. It's nobody's fault but mercari being lazy in an update with a setting change. Workarounds for every printer are going to be a short term pain in the booty solution.
I just ordered my printer and started playing with the Brother app and figured out how to crop the labels. Irritating, but I'm glad I can do it all from my phone with this printer!!!
It will get easier when mercari writes the simple code and integrates it into their platform. I'm so surprised they haven't already 😞

Ok, I've never used a device like this so this may sound like a dumb question. I would like to use this label maker to create labels with my business logo for the fronts of bottles, jars, shopper bags. Is there a way I can retrieve that from computer to label maker? Does it have to be in a specific format? Can I print multiples at a time?
Hi, this might be too much printer for that application. You could probably get away with a cheaper dymo 450 for your needs and save a lot of money.

It may be a good printer for you application then. Brother has label design softwares available for logos, labeling, etc.

Hi, yes that is correct I could not get the Bluetooth on iOS to work. I think it's a limitation on Apple's part but it's okay on Android. You may have to wire it to your network with an ethernet cable, or upgrade your router. If you have fast internet coming to your house and you have an old router you may be limiting yourself to speeds bottlenecked by your router. it's hard for me to give troubleshoot advice in the comments if you reached out to me on Instagram I might be able to help. I don't think you will get Bluetooth working on iOS. The printer is great, set up usually is easy if you are somewhat tech-savvy. I'm trying to build an archive of videos showing how to set up for different situations. Do you have cable internet or DSL? And what kind of router do you have?
I have cable internet with 50mpbs download via wired. We have an Arris Surfboard SBG6580-2 which we bought new about 2 years ago. There is a button the front with a recycle looking icon next to it but it doesn’t say WPS

Will it Connect to your hotspot on your phone?
Not exactly, there is WiFi direct connect where the printer emits a wifi signal, you can connect your phone to that network and print from there. I have a tutorial on my channel showing this.

You will need to get the printer on a network to be able to print from mobile.

Mercari doesn't format for 4x6 unfortunately. There is a workaround to get the labels to print on a computer but not mobile.

What about Paypal? I’m having trouble with the label printing small on PayPal.
You are going to have to go into paypal settings and change it to 4x6 label for it to print correctly.
