2:58 I would've valued the guaranteed progress on the bottom over the 2% increase in safety. Progress on the top should be at 70-ish%, so I would only take it if it had 70% of the bomb probability of the bottom cell or less. Now this is really close here since 70% of 9 is almost 7 anyway and in the grand scheme of things it's still a very good situation overall, but I would still consider the bottom one optimal, by just a little :)
Oh yeah you're right! I thought since (0.85^3)/7>(0.91^3)/9 the top was better, without even counting the top of the two green tiles. But yeah I didnt notice that there are 100% progress moves down there. Nice catch
In the first position, isn't the bottom leftmost move strictly more progress than the one under the 1? They have the same risk, and if the bottom leftmost isn't a move, you 100% learn whether the square under the 1 is a mine or not. And if it's a mine, big progress
Thank you for all the input on how to play safe and maximizing your chances on winning. I think I'm really learning from this since I managed to get my intermediate level mastery from 81 up to 90. By the way... Does something like an official Minesweeper Discord server exist? :)
There are versions of minesweeper that make it so that the first click is always a 0 (modern minesweeper) That is not the case for the original version and the one I play (classical minesweeper) Thanks for watching :)
Dont give up. We are with you the whole way
This series is helping me a lot :) you can do this!!

I guess my mistake is summarized by the title of the episode :P

Man this one was gutting. Really enjoyed the video, just was an unfortunate roller coaster. Looking forward to the next!
Sometimes when using hints, sometimes can give me a probability values. But sometimes the green one can be clear or a mine. Good video 💯👍
nice video! loved it!

Thank you for whatching. I dont know of any official discord servers
6:41 I would bongcloud the top left here lol
Going for the edge isn’t great here, since only 2 gives progress, but the bongcloud has a lot of good variations if 1-2, 2 isnt revealed
It's not really an edge move I went for though. Its basically a corner move
@@MineBuoy but I don’t see good continuations after that move, playing the bongcloud would actually have given better results
what is the cost / penalty for using hints?
Hints cost 1 Hounor Point, which you earn for every 1000 experience gained from boards.
Also if you are tied in the mastery leaderboard the player that used less hints gets the top spot
Nice Video! 😎
Could you explain why people dont start in the middle? It opens more spots to progress
You're hoping to reveal a 0 which reveals extra tiles. Clicking in the corner is more likely to reveal a 0 than anywhere else.
@Patashu but isnt always the first click a 0?
@@melchiorr508Have you watched the video? 7:45

Why are you so quiet?
He sounds good on my setup. You may need to check your sound settings.
I was kinda quiet because I had people sleeping two rooms away from me when I recorded :P
@zobososhizion6478 turn your volume up
