Mustie, I initially had a little sadness, then you explained some of the sadness you were carrying and I had a little moment with you man. And then I realised how lucky I am to have found your channel out and how fortunate we all are that you share everything with us. You are a really, really good dude, and I love ya 😽
Mustie has gotten me through some tough times and has resparked my interest in the Volkswagens. I have a shiny restored bus and my patina VW truck just like him and I am proud of it.
WOW , what emotions were coursing through you when you drove Crusty through that door and under that sign? A VERY proud friend moment right there for me and I’m happy you had Brian there to share it with. I am Stoked for you and I CAN NOT wait to see it with my own eyes soon .

Unless you put the car for scrape because both the engine and transmission died on you, thus isn't worth the money to get it fixed. Yeah, I had that happen to me. The body and frame were great, but the engine and transmission decided to die on me. Well, the engine was getting ready to die when the transmission died. It had rod knock. Still technically saveable if you had the expertise and equipment to tear the engine apart and such...but for someone like me who is homeless....yeah not really possible.
Hats off to Mustie for two things: For opening his heart to us about this old truck; and, For putting his old truck into a great place that will allow us to go and take a look at it!
I never heard a man talk more honest about what wrenching with friends and a project meant to him . Now I understand . Thank you Musti1 for taking us along. That was bittersweet but beautiful !
Non-car people never quite understand how classic motor vehicles can get under your skin. Not sure we will feel the same in 40 years time about 'classic Teslas'.
While listening to your story about the VW I began to feel quite sad. The truck seemed to be such an important part of your life and a fixture of the video's. I felt relieved when the end of the video came to light. Good of you to make her available for the public to see.
I grew up in a 73 sports beetle. Went with my dad to pick it up at the dealership when I was 6. The ringing sound of that old VW engine brings me back every time I hear it.
I’ve watched you since day one and I’ve never heard you open up like this before. I got very emotional listening to this Mr. D. Thank you for sharing the background on krusty and your personal experience.

When I read the title I said “Oh Nooooo”, not Crusty! Now that I understand that it is a loan to a museum for a year I think it’s great that more people will be able to see Crusty. Congratulations, not very many people have a car (or truck) on display in a nice museum.
I can relate. The pride isn't driving around your "project vehicle". It's what it took, to achieve that goal. How many times, have WE sat on the milk crate, behind the wheel of our project, and yearn for that feeling of accomplishment. Everybody's first vehicle wasn't the prettiest but, you felt like a million bucks. And now, it's time for renewing that feeling, again. Thanks for the ride Darren. EDIT: Oh ! You got me, real good....Dammit !

Cool! Crusty gets the summer off to hang out with the fancy cars in a carriage barn! I’ll have to go visit him sometime this summer. Thanks for sharing Crusty with us and for sharing the beautiful story.
The museum is very luck to have old Crusty. I wonder how many people will go to the museum because of Crusty (like me!), that would never have gone otherwise. I look forward to seeing it in person.
You got me in the feels mate, I 100% understand and get what your talking about, and it’s so good to see someone be genuine and share a part of themselves with the world
Well this was a bit of a roller-coaster ride. Started out as a real downer, and came to a satisfying end. All those other vehicles over there are going to be in good (Crusty) company.
Hoovie's Garage had one of his cars in a museum, but it was the "Pimp My Ride" Grand Voyager, which looked like a disco ball on wheels. Crusty will me much better to view in a museum: No need to wear sunglasses to avoid the glare!
That vehicle is so much a part of your channel...I've grown a little older, along with it, as the years have pasted enjoying your content. So it's not just me then? So, Darren, we're the reason you are still earning residuals on the Crusty content! I just recently re-watched (for about the 10th time) the first start on Crusty's original motor, complete with getting shot by rust!
