Thank you, John, for including American measurements in your recipes. Also, I can get heavy cream here in North Carolina to make clotted cream/Chantilly cream but it’s “ultra pasteurized” and this affects the end product. It’s still good but not as thick or rich. I just made a batch of scones and clotted cream with strawberry jam for Mother’s Day and they were delicious.

He also said don't twist the scone cutting implement an iota. Just a straight downward cut. My scones were top-knotch after that.

Earlier I used your honey oats bread as a guide in baking oats bread. I don't have honey at the moment, so my bread was a bit different but it worked out wonderfully. I have been making scones now for a long time, and although they taste delicious unfortunately after couple of days they tend to go hard. Watching your video I realise now that the problem was to much kneading. Thanks for the step by step instructions! Great video!!!

I'm glad you pronounce scone as in "gone"....so many times I've heard it pronounced sounding as "stone". My parents always said it the correct way (in my opinion) as in sounding like gone. Mind you, my dad's family hailed from Newcastle 😁 so I don't know if this is an up North way of saying it. My now ex father-in-law tried correcting me once by saying "it's pronounced scone, as in stone, I replied back "yours may taste like stones but mine taste like scones.

Interesting video, thanks for that. Your scones look fabulous, but I have to say that in Devon and Cornwall we would never use butter on the scone and never use made up piped cream like that. It has to be proper clotted cream. And we would also never ever put the scones together like a sandwich. In Cornwall they put the strawberry jam directly on the scone and then the clotted cream on top and that's it, jam and cream left exposed. But here in Devon we (correctly, ha,ha!) put the clotted cream on first and then top it with the jam. "Proper job!" But of course, at the end of the day it's all about individual taste and preference and what a person prefers. Good video! Devon Tony.
