It was a pleasure to learn their perspectives about the future of farming and how to get more youth involved. My Story…
Hello. My name is Kate Stephens, and I am a 17-year-old 4th generation Montana farmer. My family has been farming wheat in north-central Montana since my great grandfather immigrated from Denmark in 1912 and homesteaded our land. My family has been teaching me about farming since I was two years old. I run one of the combines on the farm at harvest. I believe that it is important for everyone to know where their food comes from and the families who produce it. I love our farm, and I hope that my Farm to Fashion and Farm to Table products can help educate people about where their food comes from in a fun way. That is how Kate's Ag - Farm to Fashion became a reality. I hope you love my products as much as I do because this is an extension of our farm and the grains we have been growing to feed other families for over one hundred years.
There is no ceiling to limit what Kate can do to advance the public's understanding and knowledge of farming. She also knows how important family farming is to the supply of food to the world. I hold the utmost respect for Kate and her family. They represent the farming industry in a very positive manner. :)

To bad the Family Farms are not there any more..Little by little we are losing farms.I lived next to a farm for 19 years,heard coyotes and cattle ,now I hear machinery building a new subdivision.Been watching your video's for a while your Dad knows a lot,and I have learned a lot about John Deere Machinery.Thank him for explaining it the way he does

Kate, it is really great you were able to visit the National Farmers Union Convention! Thank you for sharing all the interviews, it is really interesting. Meanwhile, a lot is happening in the world, I read that since mid-February the world trade price of wheat has risen by more than fifty percent. More farmers in the Netherlands are going to sow spring wheat. To give you an idea; 180,000 hectares are full of grains in the Netherlands. I don't think that's much for American standards. The wheat grown in the Netherlands is mainly processed in animal feed. The grains from the Netherlands contain less protein. That makes the bread less tasty. Some people expect a food shortage in the world, so you see again that agiculure is really important. It is great the Farmers Union supports the familyfarms, like your granddad said. I hope your family benefits a bit from the higher grain prices, on the other hand fuel has become really expensive again. I hope you had a great time in Denver! Greetings from the Netherlands

Wow, you have come such a long way by being passionate and hard working as an Ag Vlogger. Do they have a Young Farmer competition for competing over a range of skills such as machinery operation, quality control and fencing etc? They have that in New Zealand and it is great to watch. All the key points were covered really well. Especially the tremendous value in shortening the supply chain from the field to the fork, and family farms are the most sensible and efficient way of doing so.

Kate, I love your enthusiasm. I raised my children to appreciate where their food comes from. We had an old farm house with a couple of acres but we managed to grow produce and raise Dscks, Chickens, Geese, Rabbits and other aoccasional animals. Unfortunately most of the population don't undersatnd how vulnerable they are by relying on the huge industrial type of producers.

Great video again Kate! I always try to buy from local farmers, but I would like to see it become easier to buy from local farmers. It would be great if the grocery stores etc would work more with local farmers. I don't even mind paying a premium. I know farmers don't get payed nearly enough

Point about mainstream media about hurting farmers is spot on. They have their own agenda. We all need search information for themselves and watch great channels like this! We need to do something about monopolies! Only 4 large meatpackers in the U.S. buy 85% of the meat. All the small packers have been bought out or run off. The large packers collude on prices so ranchers are forced to sell beef for $1 per pound when it costs them $1.30 to raise.Farmers and ranchers have no options. We need to vote out lawmakers that side with monopolies! We need laws and regs to control the monopolies and help the family farms.
We totally agree!!! That is what National Farmers Union is trying to do. We have anti-trust laws now they need to be enforced and revised. It is like the farmers having to compete with the Rockefellers and Vanderbilts who monopolized everything!

Another great video I like how you go out and show people a lot of different aspects of the farming industry. It is also great where you go interview all different people about what they do in all different parts of the farming industries from planting fields to the orchards etc. It is great where you teach the people in the world from your videos on how hard the work is and everything does not just come from a machine in a factory, and that you answer so many questions that people ask you on here while other you tube channels never answer questions. Great video Kate! Very informative! So today I was headed back to Phoenix from Tucson and decided to take some of the back roads.I was impressed at the number of farms still in operation. In the area I live in a lot of farms sold out to housing development. Sad if you ask me. 😎😎😎👍👍👍
