Imagine the pure confusion Undyne must be going through. You cleverly evade, block, and heal off her well placed attacks, which get faster and faster, all while pleading to her and slowly breaking her down, until she ends up literally hyperventilating because you just won’t die, but you won’t even fight. In fact, you attempt to spare HER, when you’re supposed to be at her mercy. And at the end of it all, you completely disregard the fight, brushing her off whenever she gets too close, and eventually luring her in her unstable state into her weakness, ultimately breaking her down slowly. And the first thing she sees when waking up is you fucking HELPING her. No wonder she outright walked away
Cliff notes: 1. Stay alive until she hyperventilates. 2. Run away. 3. At the start of the next fights, you will not be turned green so immediately run away again. 4. Win.
+Richard Smith Ok, but what do you do when you turn green again? I watched a few vids how to do that fight correctly, I run away and when she catches me again she does turn me green again - not like in the vids I watched. So I cant run away again immediately. Weird. oO Do I have to press sth?
Tinnue Stay alive. When she says she is hyperventalating, RUN. You will not be green at this point. At the start of every fight, run immediately. You will not be turned green before your turn starts IF YOU WAITED for her to hyperventilate before running the first time.
Ah ok so I think she didnt really hyperventilate because she turns me green 2 more times after I run away. 4th time I stayed red. But I got her now. Thx :)

I suck at stuff like dodging attacks, so I stuffed my inventory with healing items and went. I realized that this was a very good idea. for the rest of my fights, I dodged best I could and ate food. Lots of food. Pacifist win, all you need is food. ... And mercy. That too, yeah. ... Yeah.
I love how Undertale takes old game mechanics and mindets and breaks them. Many people never considered to run away at first. Why? Because in older RPG's it was most common that you couldn't flee from boss battles (except when it was warranted and the game told you so). I also missed Undyne's words in the beginning (or rather I was so indoctrinated throughout my gaming life that I automatically assumed "boss fight = can't escape" and didn't take her words literally). Great fight and great game ~
This battle is perfect. The music, you fleeing and “RUN!” Starting to play. Papyrus calling you as your try to run away from being murdered and then Sans is just napping at a random location

All you have to do is buy a lot of cloud glasses then sell to temmie and when you reach 1000 gold you can pay temmie to go to college and he will sell you the tem armor with the price depending on how many times you have died. If you were not killed even once the price will be 9999 but can be lowered to 1000 (or less) when you die a bunch of times.

"What the hell are humans made ouf of?!" I'll always remember this line since is implies we been impaled by multiple spear but they disintegrated upon impact on our bodies. Such a cool scene i imagine in my mind. Also really like her funny intro of " SCREW IT!WHY SHOULD I TELL THAT STORY WHEN YOU ARE ABOUT TO DIE? NGAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" Just an awsome character that gave such good laugh even her facial expresiion is gold.
+based jol Some people would likely prefer not to experience all the game has to offer if they know ahead of time they'll dislike doing so. Being able to make a moral decision to avoid an aspect of the game, and the game actively acknowledge this, is a really nice touch on the developer's part.

Funny thing was I fought her to a stand still and figured out I could have just ran away, and ended up sparing her anyway. She's REALLY fun and interesting as a character but boy... That one opponent in a pacifist run, where sparing is not enough. Undyne sure can be tricky to overcome if you don't pay close attention to those spear attacks. During my pacifist playthrough, she's pretty much the only character whom I've suffered a game over against before reaching Asgore.

The rest of the game acts as if I never played it, which is why Undyne does not say anything, otherwise she'd comment on having images of you befriending her before accusing you of trying to brainwash her.

When you end up getting so good at the game that you're really hard to kill, this fight is a BLAST to go through, especially the complementing music. The fact you can challenge her really makes it that much more fun to prove your determination to her. 😈
I was so innocent thinking that this was the hardest battle in pacifist and then I played genocide and... well I'm in pain right now let's just say that.
Ok since some of you guys can't get through this here's what you gotta do: When she first attacks, block all three things. Second time she does it let her hit you a few times. Slowly let your health go down to 4,3 or 2. Once you're red again and the spear passes by, you have to dodge it. If you do that you can go to *Mercy* and press *Flee*. You're welcome. *REMEMBER: WHEN SHE CATCHES YOU, BE SURE TO HEAL YOURSELF AND THEN REPEAT THAT I SAID EARLIER*
I need serious help. I've been stuck on this fight for hours! I'm able to get to the third phase without taking damage, but after the first two attacks of that phase, I can't seem to avoid damage. This would be no problem if I had any health items, but I used them all. I did try going back to the Nice Cream stand, but it was gone, so I have to be able to get through the whole fight without taking more than four hits and I can't freaking do it! Any suggestions?

Ok since some of you guys can't get through this here's what you gotta do: When she first attacks, block all three things. Second time she does it let her hit you a few times. Slowly let your health go down to 4,3 or 2. Once you're red again and the spear passes by, you have to dodge it. If you do that you can go to *Mercy* and press *Flee*. You're welcome. *REMEMBER: WHEN SHE CATCHES YOU, BE SURE TO HEAL YOURSELF AND THEN REPEAT THAT I SAID EARLIER*

I need serious help. I've been stuck on this fight for hours! I'm able to get to the third phase without taking damage, but after the first two attacks of that phase, I can't seem to avoid damage. This would be no problem if I had any health items, but I used them all. I did try going back to the Nice Cream stand, but it was gone, so I have to be able to get through the whole fight without taking more than four hits and I can't freaking do it! Any suggestions?
