- Karim verließ nach dem Studium das konfliktreiche Burundi für ein ruhigeres Leben in Ruanda. Natürlich nahm er dabei seine Rollerblades mit, die mit der Zeit zur Verlängerung seiner Beine geworden sind. Karim ist ein Performer und vollführt die tollsten Sprünge und Figuren auf der Straße. Die Nachbarn schauen fasziniert zu. Dank seines Talents engagierte ihn die High Society Ruandas als Lehrer für ihre Kinder. Er nutzt das, um das Publikum zu mischen und junge Leute aus seinem Viertel Gakinjiro mit einzubeziehen.

He ain’t white enough. Would have been done already if he happened to be a white african. It’s sad to see but it just seems that way. There’s not enough people of colour who do extreme sports. It’s an luxury to participate in it as the requirements depends on means or exposure to get the facilities in the first place. I hope things will change. When I’m rich enough I’d love to set up something to help get greater inclusion in extreme sports.
