      Her interview with MoNique's family, despite knowing their traumatic past. That may me lose alot of respect for Oprah. MoNique was vulnerable and trusted her with something heartbreaking, but Oprah went behind her back and did the interview, anyway. 😠

    I thought her interview with Nathan Lane and Robin Williams during the time of The Birdcage would had been on the list. For those not aware, Nathan Lane wasn’t out yet and was worried his career would be affected if so. But during the interview, Oprah was asking questions in a way to get Nathan to come out or talk about his sexuality. Robin could see what was happening and he swooped in and saved him and steered the interview in a different direction.

Another reason was because he was still performing his dangerous tour and was all the in another country to interfere with legal business, but Michael later did admit that he should’ve done the court case, as it would’ve proved more effectively about the allegations and he would’ve likely won the case. The thing I absolutely hate the most when all these multimillion people and companies ask for "donations", is that you know damn well whatever measly amount you could give, they could give tenfold and it wouldnt even put a scratch in their bank, yet they ask regular people to help out. Hell, they spend more money setting up these fundraisers and advertisements that could have just been more money that could have gone to the fund in the first place. Especially with companies, because when companies do donations, especially at the retailers during Christmas time, you give them money to donate to someone else, and that company gets to right off those donations for their own tax purposes. So you think youre helping out some charity, but at the same time, youre giving these guys a massive tax break.

    Her interview with Toni Braxton is another one. Oprah took the position that Toni is just a star who can't control her spending during Toni's dispute with LAFace over her contract. It turned out that Toni was right all along; when Babyface took the stand in her trial and admitted that the contract Toni signed was indeed manipulative and a bad one, Oprah stopped promoting the interview. She didn't apologize, though.

      10 million (really only 5 mil because Rock donated the other 5mil) is peanuts.

      No, this was just a vanity project so she could feel good about herself.

    • @mbrow
      @mbrow หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      I agree with your comment in theory, but I'm with @Isaacindelicato123. Consider the math: Oprah's net worth is about $3B .... $3,000,000,000. If she made a very basic 5% interest on that, her money would make $150M (million) in one year. In reality, her money makes a ton more than that. So, $5M is a pittance to her. She can give, or not give, whatever she wants, but it's understandable why some people were put off by the figure.
      Another fact: When Oprah "gave away" all those cars to the teachers in the early 2000s (if I recall correctly), the cars weren't free AT ALL. The recipients all were stuck with paying various fees and taxes. Gift taxes can be expensive and are based on the value of the gift. Many people struggled to come up with the money to pay the bill that they now were liable for, which was in the thousands of dollars. I heard then that the show producers (?) told people that if they couldn't pay the money, to sell the car to raise the funds to pay it.
