Jung stressed that the archetype is not the actual thing in itself. The archetype of the Divine points to a Divine Reality, which is absolutely real to those who have encountered it directly. The Self is not merely an archetype. It is the human Soul/Spirit.
Jung believed in an incomprehensible God that comprised the whole of reality which includes all pairs of opposites. Including good and evil. He called this Abraxas. Christ to him was symbolic of the Self/Ego relationship. A lot of people assume Jung is talking about their god when they watch and if you dig into his own writings Jung’s version of god is very very different than most.
Jung’s “concept of God” (which is already a paradox because God is non-dual and can’t be conceptualized) is IMO most similar to the Advaita Vedanta view. He says he “doesn’t believe in God, he knows” because with a healthy enough ego, one is able to let go of their idea of themselves without fear of losing it, and explore that which cannot be known from the individual perspective… aka God aka Brahman aka Self. Jung knows God is not something separate from what one is. He has seen that he is not just the mind/body/persona but the underlying consciousness that is unaffected by happenings in form.
the difference between theists and Gnostics, theists believe, Gnostics KNOW. Gnosis means KNOWING. When you know yourself you know GOD, this is why ancient Greek said "know thyself".
Amen. Most people would call it blasphemous to say “I am God”… but in truth, a person who realizes this is able to step “outside” the individual perspective and realize their true nature as conscious awareness rather than over-associating with the rational mind/body/persona like most ppl will from the age 3 on.
@@danielverdel7502In eastern religions it's normal to view yourself as divine and to bow to others as a symbolic way of acknowledging you see the divine in them too, so it's a horizontal relationship. It is only in perverted Abrahamic religions that a man is separate from god, always in shame of sin, and god has to "be feared", because he's a "jealous god", they're basically describing "the devil" narcissist who is lording it over his minions, and it is also ironically from these same religions blasphemous to state you're in any way affiliated with god, let alone say something like "I'm God", then this is from their mentality viewed as trying to be "holier then thou" and you're "not pious" exactly because it's a mental projection of a religion which thrives on dominance, control and creating cognitive dissonance among it's devotees, because horizontal relationship isn't possible for them, only vertical hierarchies akin to how narcissists function, there can be no equality. All accusatory judgements created by them are basically projections just describing themselves and their mode of operation, their super ego which was implanted into them by their parents by indoctrination, every accusation a confession.

Also it seems to me that his spritual or even "paranormal" propensities come from his mothers side. If i recall it right in the family from his mothers side there were so called psychics.
As much as I respect Jung, I hate it when anybody says "I don't just think, I *know*" when talking about their own religious beliefs. Every random with a mutually exclusive vision of what God wants other people to do says they *know*.
I've actually just copy and pasted a great reply from another comment on this vid which explains how Jung's beliefs differ from the general religious ideas we come across. Many of my beliefs were heavily influenced by Jung. I always loved his , "I don't believe in God, I know." Great video.
THANKS Man 🙏

It does suck that a lot of people throw those words around, but trust me, knowing god is a whole nother state of being... A state you can get to...
The only exception I will craft for this is for those who had direct experience of impersonal God.
I believe in God he was my daughter
Except that no one knows. No one ever has. No one ever will. No one can know anything about god, the soul, or the afterlife. No one.
Careful with words.
