Why abandon the Portuguese translation? We are an active community, I personally have been playing for over 20 years and I can't understand, if the printed version is not possible, why not only make it available in the digital version? I hope that the new direction will bring back D&D to Brazil and all other countries that use the Portuguese language
One thing that I hope for either in the new DMG or the MM is a concrete example on how to combine statblocks one on how to add blocks together such as a Fiend Warlock and a Gnoll, and an example on adding Species traits to an NPC statblock.
I think D&D needs an official tool to convert any existing statblock to other CRs. That would be very helpful for me as a DM. I agreed with their point that some monsters in the 2014 manual didn't live up to their CR.
I really hope that this means high level play (levels 10-20) is more viable by making the monsters actually challenging for the PCs at the levels they say they are. The cr system will never be perfect but it straight up doesn't work in higher levels
Hope they bring back the templates they used to have in things like Pathfinder where you can overlay new things to increase or decrease CR by a few levels. I loved those things.
Sounds like lots of good stuff. I hope the CR issues are address 1-20. For my group of experienced dnd players from the 80s... They usually walk over many of my encounters when they should be extremely tough based on CR. It would be nice to see base versions and elite versions of each monster like pathfinder does. I find dnd to be more for players on easy mode. I find pathfinder is geared more for DM/GMs making it easier to run games and tougher for characters to survive.
I hope the book is organised in some better way than just alphabetical like the last one. Chapters for types organised by CR would make it so much easier to find stuff rather than having to scour opposite ends of the book to find 2 undead creatures
Great!! NPC´s bestiary much like the one in Pathfinder 2e GM Guide. Good to hear WotC are taking notes on what is a quality of life mechanics from other systems
I really hope they give the Tarrasque a ranged attack and more passive traits like its regeneration trait from previous editions. Maybe even some Mythic Actions to boot
This sounds awesome, one thing I always thought was odd with Dragons in D&D was the lack of spellcasting. I always thought they should be innate spellcaster and should be slinging around fireballs and whatnot with the same ease as their claw attacks and breath weapons. I wonder if you have added spellcasting to them at all?
I really hope they included better transformation mechanics for things like vampires and lycanthropes. That would be a perfect way to add even more quality of life to this edition!
So what will happen to the playable character species in Mordenkainen Presents: Monsters of the Multiverse? Will we say goodbye to them with the release of these new editions, or will they appear in Monster Manual 2024?
@@giantevilpandas Thank you very much for the information, I am very glad that all those playable character types will not be wasted and they will be edited in the 2024 revisions.

No table of D&D follows the dungeon master guide rules on page 76 (or whatever) that state 6-8 medium fights per long rest with 2 short rests breaking those up. The core mechanic in the game is the rest mechanic and how many fights you get between each type of rest. That's what determines resources available per fight. This changes the balance/value of every class ability, racial ability, feat, spell, and item ability that recharges on short or long rest. In turn, this dramatically changes the balance of every single monster in the game. You want me to buy a new set of book and a new monster manual. Have you "fixed" this to match how people are actually using your game, or made allowances for it? Every single major D&D channel has complained about the balance of the game. Every team with a stream about D&D. Every channel that does D&D content ... they all tend to play roughly 1-3 fights per long rest (instead of 6-8) and ... unsurprisingly ... that wildly changes the value of things. If you're supposed to have 3 rages per day and you have 6-8 fights ... that's obviously wildly different than if you have 3 rages for 3 fights. You have like 8 levels of warlock with 2-4 spells per day (zero to one short rests per day) instead of having roughly 6 spells for 6-8 fights which would compare really evenly with ... bard/cleric/druid/wizard/sorcerer having roughly the same number of spells per 6-8 fights. This obviously means that the way people chose to modify the rules significantly weakens classes like warlock. And if characters have a totally different number of resources the challenge of those monsters will be WILDLY different. So, is this more of the same where the way people chose to play the game ... the challenge rating in the monster manual you want me to buy is ... at best ... a basic guideline? (dungeon dudes, XP to 3, nerdarchy, D4, dimension20, critical role ....... on and on it goes ... most of them don't understand game design, even the ones who've published books .. and most of them don't actually understand how the resting is changing things .... that statement is based on how those channels have spoken about the 5E balance issues ... the BOOK needs to account for this stuff even if it's the fault of the customers making the game their own and not following rules then being surprised when things are broken ... as a side note I've played through several Wizards of the Coast modules and those CERTAINLY don't play out like the players are supposed to do 6-8 fights per day)
@@Envyus1 And, I also know the components are basically mix and match. The question still stands ... there are significant balance issues with the way most people play the game. I'm asking if those things are being addressed.
