Happy to be on a new cruise to a new place...Taylor, you are such a joy to sail with!! Your. Energy...exCitement is awesome. Love your vlogs, more. Please😅😅😅😅
Am in the process of buying a boat myself, and hopefully visiting some of these places. With your practical perspective, a sort of cruisers guide to these places would be really useful - I guess that makes you some kind of inspiration!
You two do some awesome things, but, an American couple alone on the sea just off the coast of Costa Rico and seemingly no fear of pirates or others with bad intentions. I’m impressed with your courage.
Thanks! Costa Rica is quite safe and there have been very few piracy issues on the pacific side of Nicaragua. The Caribbean side is another story. Plus, we did have a buddy boat for this passage.
Thanks! Our distance from shore varied with the shape of the coast. Because the papagallo winds were not blowing we could stay offshore a bit farther, generally between 5-50 miles. Our shifts also vary, usually 3 hours, some are 2, and make takes a big 5 hour watch starting at midnight.
Hey guys! Loving your videos. We have a Caliber too and my wife was wondering if you knew the colour of your dodger/Bimini? It goes really well with the Caliber’s hull and deck. Thanks. Really looking forward to watching you explore Costa Rica ;)
... what was the reasoning for jumping directly from Mexico to Costa Rica .... I know nothing about it and it just struck me ..... Is this your longest passage to date, curious to hear how you felt about it and how this weighed on say thoughts of say a passage across the Pacific ..... you are in monkey land now I see .... sounds and looks amazing .... thx for the share ... Oh look you are edging in on 10K subs, well done Team Via .... as always .. never stop dreaming, just dream bigger .. have fun be safe, save our oceans .....
We jumped to Costa Rica because we had already been stuck in Mexico for almost 2 months beyond our intended stay, and we didn’t feel particularly drawn to anything in between, so we just jumped straight there. It wasn’t our longest passage to date but it was up there! Thanks for the kind words!
The best is washing it off within a day or two! Otherwise we’ve found soap and a brush works fine. I’m sure if it sits for long enough you may need some more high powered cleaning supplies!
Great videos of the natural environment you are in! Thankyou, Murray and Jean.
Yep, WOW 👍👍👍. Enjoy
Great
Wonderful video, thank you.

There’s no piracy in Costa Rica …
Great video. Curious though how far off shore you sailed? And how long were your shifts during this passage? Thanks

We’re not sure actually, the previous owner did the canvas. We are pretty sure the material is sunbrella though.
Thanks anyways. Fair winds! @@MakingOurWay
Did you sail directly from Mexico to Costa Rica and avoid the other countries?
We did make the jump directly. Especially after being stuck in Chiapas five weeks longer than expected it felt like the right move.

Who knew there was so much drama on the seas? Damn boobies, typing that didn't feel right lol
Hi guys tie a stick across your bowel for the boobies and then they poo in the water.
What is the best solution for cleaning the Boobie poop?
The best is washing it off within a day or two! Otherwise we’ve found soap and a brush works fine. I’m sure if it sits for long enough you may need some more high powered cleaning supplies!
