I don't think they will lean too heavily into the action part of RE9. I do hope we go back to a 3rd person perspective, what they have with RE4:Remake is perfect that's the gameplay we need with more horror for RE9.
RE4r nailed the action approach to the series in terms of gameplay imo. It should be the groundwork for any future action focused titles for sure

It really does feel like that at times 😅 though that same mindset is present across a LOT of different game franchises

The last two games have been action orientated, RE8, and RE4 remake, so personally I'm hoping for a slower paced horror title, akin the the originals and 7.
Side note, is that a midlands accent I'm hearing?

Just do RE2/3/4 remake style.
I let the chips fall where they may. If it doesn't live up to my standard, I'll just remove it from the collection & toss it in the VR pile.
I grew up with flesh eating zombies in the 90s, true survival horror. Then I got Resident Evil 4 on GC, and it was really fun, but it was action horror with Spaniards weilding weapons and some kind of infestation. Didn't play it twice, much less the dozens of times I did on PS1. I'm currently playing r4make though and it's pretty sick & twisted, the ropes strung through the eye holes of skulls, the burning of the cop at the stake, the eyes of the chainsaw wielder and the blood of someone drug across the bridge are all survival horror at its core, so far so good for chapter 1. I hope the whole game is like this. Might change my opinion on it. Then gun toting African "zombies" in 5? Yikes idk......vampires & werewolf altered humans in Villiage? I hope we get 0, 1 & CV remakes on PS5
We saw Pierce Nivvans in the beginning of RE VIII, maybe it could be a horror co-op game with him and someone else. Hopefully the bring back co-op like RE5.

you know what as a resident evil fan lets just wait and see we all judged every game minus maybe 6 every game has its charm. even the game boy advance game in which leon is possibly the bio weapon at the end

Resident evil games work best in isolation. What i mean by that is they need to give us 1 main playable character for the majority of the game and drop them into a singular location. Re1 is the mansion, Re2 is racoon city, re4 is rural spain. Giving a larger 'scope' with something like resident evil 6 ruins the horror. Give us a new game with an existing character linked to the bsaa (jill or chris although hes been featured heavily recently) and put them in an isolated situation where theyre cut off from external help e.g. they get trapped in a quarantine zone or taken captive. I think they game will be bound to flop if they go for the action heavy approach again not that it cant feature some action
We could really use a new game with Jill especially since they botched the re 3 remake so bad

@@1r0zz i dont think you understand my point. In resident evil 2 theres a sense of claustraphobia as youre trapped inside this city full of infected cut off from the outside world. Theres the sewers, the underground lab, the rpd., In resident evil 6 you go on some globe trotting crap fest with not one memorable location. Its so bloated and ruins the scare factor because its on too big of a scope. In re2 respite is few and far between with the only occasional character interaction from ada and sherry respectively.
@@1r0zz resident evil 2 takes effort to make you feel confined whether barricaded in after the mad dash to the police station, trapped in the parking lot with the dogs, locked in the orphanage as sherry. Its not necessary to make a good resident evil game however it is a major factor. Id say the main exemption is 4 where the areas to traverse are much larger and open but it still has its moments. Whether its the first encounter at the start of the game, being attacked by zealots in the castle or being trapped in the regenerator lab with nowhere to go but forwards

The only boring location in RE history is RE7, every other RE is very well executed.
Also RE6, as the series finally shows us what BOW are for and used in a conflict… you know… the reason why they are created and still exist…
The only problem in re6 are the mishaps in game design (also present in re7, but worse) and the fact that re6 is like 3.5 games in one.
RE3make showed that they havent quite shaken whatever lead to RE6. Fans are right to be worried

I think we can safely assume the the game won’t be like 6. RE4R is the safest approach for Capcom in regards to how RE9 should play. I personally would prefer something akin to 7 only in 3rd person.
Yeah it’s like I said I don’t think they’d do a repeat of RE6. I don’t think we’ll see a game go as far as they took RE6 when it comes to action again.
RE4/5 are probably the furthest it should go and are a good foundation of action was to be a idea for nine
