It says so much that Mr. Apel's reordering of the episodes shows up even in the wiki entry on episode order. The production is so rough around the edges while at the same time so very earnest, it truly is a unique bit of PBS love.
Thank you so much for maintaining these treasures.

Saw these when they aired in San Jose in the 80s on channel 54, and The Prisoner became my top all time show. Wish I still have that Number 54 Prisoner button I got for donating.

Amazing! I also saw this while living in San Jose in the '90s. Thanks for this video!
I'm back to comment it is a shame that KTEH doesn't have a high quality set of these videos up on youtube and we have to rely on what a fan recorded. KTEH was a wonderful station in the Bay Area in the '90's.

I liked the way they aired it on PBS 54 with the critic Scott Apel. The commentary was great.

I am loving that you posted this--I USED to have the whole set--but it was all on Beta tapes, and they got ruined by water damage, and I scream. Even better commentary was the late 1970's "rap" sessions on channel 9.

Every arrival is a new point of departure.
The Prisoner is metaphorical portrait of the kind of world we actually live in, then and now, even more so, although the tide has now turned in favour of We the People of the planet.

We remember Scott's show.! We, Leigh High School grads of '68,69, thought highly of the show and of Scott. Anyone knowing about his whereabouts in 2017? Thanks for making the show available to us now!

Dude! this is the most awesome thing ever!!
I loved watching these when they aired. It hadn't occurred to me to look them up on you tube before.
I've subscribed so if you ever happen to find the other 13, that would be fantastic. Similarly, if I find them I'll be sure to post a comment, letting you know.
    Thanks again! :)

I remember Scott from the 1970s with his long ponytail when he worked at Recycle Books on the corner of 3rd and San Fernando in San Jose (I started working there right after he left). He was a friendly and engaging fellow.

I used to watch (the old) KTEH's "Sunday Science Fiction Night", with "The Prisoner", while I was working and working on my bach, living a half block from SJSU on 8th St, and getting my Sunday night supper from a place right around the corner (I believe it was the "Hamburger Hamlet"), good memories.

@FastMg42 I second that thought. "The Prisoner" was television's first masterpiece, a hand-crafted work that could only happen in a medium that has time to slowly explore themes, comment on them, while tossing in an idiosyncratic look, attitude, and style. It's so incredibly 60s that it's become timeless. It's like watching that other made-in-the UK export "2001: a Space Odyssey'" and comparing it something by George Lucas. Times change . . .

I wonder if you ever got them Cosmobit. I had a full set, when I videotaped them all, while I was in the Bay Area. I would like to see any video of the Prisoner rap from channel 9, when they reran the show in the late 1970s. This fellow from Canada with a ponytail was the most verbose commenter, and I recall he was a big guy in one of the fan clubs

yeah, he even smiles on his driving license. it's like he actually knows more than he's telling us, maybe it's just an act though, to make you feel more paranoid about the series or something:)

This guy's episode order leaves alot to be desired so how about THIS theory to put the cat amongst the pigeons...'Once Upon A Time' and 'Fall Out' is a dream and No 6 wakes out of it in the final episode 'Many Happy Returns'! It would offer a bleak but more satisfying finally which was it's original intention as the final episode of a 'first' series. Presumably the leaders were announcing "Evacuate!" while No 6 was asleep and this influenced the President's announcement in 'Fall Out'. BCNU...
