Thanx Steve for another important vid. Observation is an important part of fishing. You are definitely a die hard fisherman, out there doing your thing and not watching the Simpson marathon. Because I'm in a situation where I can't fish, I am watching the Simpson marathon, but I take breaks to watch everyone's vids. Have a good one!
Yea, on an island, I have a little bit more access than most people. Yea, gonna have to pass on the Simpsons marathon. They have been on for like 20 years. Your going to be there a while.
Great fish sermon. When you stuck the camera under water I felt like I was being baptized. Lol. Thank you, Thank you for doing this. Florida game & fish should use this video as a training video and pay you. But I know you do it for the love of the game. Thanks.
Thanks for the comps, William. I have met quite a few officers who knew me from my videos. Now, they don't even ask for a license as I am around so much.
really thankful that you take the time to detail this stuff. I am transitioning from shore fishing artificials to buying a kayak and using live bait (west coast) south of Tampa. your videos have helped me tremendously. thank you mate
You are right, i have rushed to throw the net and got nothing they go away and i waste a lot of time looking for them again. One and DONE, yup I'm going to practice that
The power of Polarized Glasses. No need for expensive as you said, been using Flying Fisherman for years and still busting bait and giving free lip piercings to all kinds of fish! The right shade is the key for the water you fish or plan to fish. 20 to 300 bucks depending on how cool you want to look, You save yourself ego and bank roll when they get lost or broken.
Craigslist for sure. Have money ready and move quick. I got my Tarpon 140 for $500. I called as soon as he listed it and told him i would come over right then with the money. In the ten minutes it took to get to his place, he had had 20 phone calls.
Hey Steve I've been watching your Chanel for a couple of months now and I really like all your videos and want you to how helpful they are. My family and I are going to be spending Christmas in the keys and i was wondering if my dad and I could tag along on one of your trips. We will be there from Dec 18 through the 27th and have all our own gear and boats. If not maybe I could get some tips on which islands and channels to fish around. Oh also I'm A 15 year old boy this is my moms old account. Let me know thanks
Hey Elizabeths son. What part of the Keys are you going to be in. It is a 100 mile stretch. It is difficult to time things as it really depends on the weather as well as my obligations. Busy time of the year. But let me know which area you will be staying at and at least i might be able to give you some tips. Post a new comment though. so that I will be able to see it.
Usually I do that on the individual fishing video. I might have to keep one of each and freeze them and when I have all the species i can do a vid. Good idea.
It is very difficult to time things to be able to do that. I have quite a few boat regulars on a rotation so not a lot of flexible time. The best thing to do is to let me know when you are in town and if things are open then we might be able to do something. Just two days is tough though. Things are very wind dependent.
Whats up Chris, greetings from Miami. I dont own a kayak or boat, and im new to fishing, and i dont know many fishing spots around here that arent from a crowded bridge haha, but i have subscribed to your channel because i have learned alot from them. However i have been having a tough time catching a decent size fish (snapper for dinner). i usually use live shrimp or frozen squid. do you have any suggestions for me?
Live Shrimp and squid are too soft. They get picked apart too easily by smaller fish. If you can, try and find some Pinfish or Grunts. Half dollar to silver dollar size. They are a hardy bait so will stay on the hook. Small Snappers won't mess with them, so if they get hit, it will be by a larger snapper. Also, regardless of the bait you choose, fish it on the bottom. Big Snappers don't generally feed on top. The smaller ones hang out in the mid and upper water column. Hope that helps. Also, chum tends to get all of them biting, then put a big bait behind and on the bottom of where all the fish are. The big ones tend to like to hang back.
Much more of a "buy it from the bait boat" mentality on the west coast. Kind of just the way things are. In the Keys, catching fresh live bait is just a part of fishing. Have you watched "Local Knowledge Fishing Show" on youtube. That guy who runs Bloody Decks and one of the charter captains here in the Keys get together and are doing tv shows. Great stuff about the two coasts.
Key West Kayak Fishing yea sometime it's nice to buy but typically u get too much and they don't survive long on a kayak size well. Making bait using a sabiki is more of a norm these days.
Key West Kayak Fishing Pleasures all mine I appreciate you taking time to make these videos showing me the ropes of the sport, encouraged me to want to try this out a lot more!
Key West Kayak Fishing As well I'm looking to buy a angler kayak to use in the Intercostal waterway of NC could you give me on any pointers where to look for one being you have more experience?
Hey sorry I forgot to mention that my name is Matthew. We will be staying on a house boat in ramrod key for a few days then in a hotel in key west until the 27th.
Check out Geiger Key and Sammy Creek launch. I have tons of videos on Geiger Creek and here is one for Sammy Creek. th-cam.com/video/WXvEdKx2T3U/w-d-xo.html

Long winded, but I like to get specific. I think it helps for those that really want to know.
Nice vid man as always. 😀
Always appreciate it Beast.
If I'm trying to get a nice kayak for cheap where do you think I can look?
Craigslist for sure. Have money ready and move quick. I got my Tarpon 140 for $500. I called as soon as he listed it and told him i would come over right then with the money. In the ten minutes it took to get to his place, he had had 20 phone calls.
Great video and thanks for sharing your knowledge on getting the bait
No problem BlackshawClan. Hope it was somewhat helpful.

Could you do a bait video on how to rig each type of bait and when to use that type of rig
Usually I do that on the individual fishing video. I might have to keep one of each and freeze them and when I have all the species i can do a vid. Good idea.
Steve, do you ever take people fishing? I'm actually coming down to key West on the 25/26 of february.... would be cool to meet up with ya.

nice how too as usual ... 👍
Appreciate it Sam. When are the "How To:" Shoot fishing videos coming. I could use some help on that aspect.

Man I would kill to find a channel like yours who focus on s cal. I've paid guides $250 a day who taught me less than this 30 minute video.

Ah, good deal. My sabiki game is weak. Gotta pull out the sabiki rod and put it to work.
costas sunglasses are great, high quality, you miss a lot with the cheap glasses
They are great, until you see them sink to the bottom of the ocean and you realize how bad of an investment that was. LOL.
Thats right, I lost a fancy rodholder yesterday out $35 bucks . another one weeks ago.
I think you meant congregate instead of coagulate when talking about where bait gathers!😎
how much was your kayak
Cj Perez Depends on which one the Tarpon 140 he's using in this video usually runs around 1,000-1,100USD.
$500 off Craigslits.
Thanks Dylan.
