It’s a Maori name.

A great collection . One can only wonder how much are " gone " no longer in print with little or no hope of been held and read. May haps there are some e copies out there . Better than "Animal Farm" OK I will seek and find

My personal opinion! Although Animal Farm is an undisputed classic, Down and Out, for me, is a better read. Once started, I finish it in either one or two sessions, its so good🙂 You're right, a lot of these early Penguins are quite obscure now and fast becoming forgotten.

251 - Penguin have mis-spelt the author's name - it is Robert Tressell, not Tressall...
