We had a platoon sergeant, several tours in Viet Nam, Special Forces. This was mid-80’s…some guy had a boot knife. Sgt grabs him from behind, lifts him up and says GO FOR YOUR KNIFE! Of course the guy can’t reach it. Sgt says Go for you belt! Of course he can reach his belt. Sgt asks “Where you gonna carry your knife????”. Belt is the correct answer! Or pocket will work too. 🤣
I carry the Tiger Claw straight edge. It is stupidly sharp and amazingly strong. Recommend to anyone who is serious about self defense and protecting yourself.
I bought the Tuff Lite... The pocket clip is right and left hand ... However they didn't even bother to smooth the edges of the thumb hole!... When you open the blade with your right thumb it's fine . .. however when you open the blade with your left thumb , the edges of the thumb hole is so sharp, it cuts your finger!!! The 1st and last Cold Steel knife I'll ever buy!!!... Not Cold Steel, rather Cold SHIT!!!
I practice daily with my customized Double Agent I, reverse grip in left hand draw. Usually in tandem with my heavy customized cane in my right hand, but sometimes, Ill draw my CS Spartan with my right hand in forward extended grip, and practice tandem fighting them on dead standing tree's I use in the forest. I'd sur like to see Cold Steel come out with a double ring version of this claw, like a thin folding Double Agent. The double rings lets me hold it in reverse while holding other things such as my cane in same hand. So I can use one or both hands for the cane. A folding clip version of Double Agent would be great for pocket carry. Love the AD10 lockbacks. Fighting knifes come under more stress than others and weak lockbacks will fail and cut off fingers. The Double rings on also allow me to reverse fist grip block with my Double Agent. I practice hard powerful blocks against the dead tree, with no glove, and my left hand is healing right now from a serious wound, yet as long as I don't make a mistake, it works. My system has evolved so I fight the Double Agent reverse grip left hand. I even hitched a bamboo ThumbNub onto it , so as to instantly extend the reverse grip blade reach by 3+ inches simply by pushing the curved blade forward with the ThumbNub.
I wish you guys would post a link where we can buy cold steel merchandise like Hoodies, t-shirts, stickers etc. Also, I own just about every cold steel product and wish your pocket clips would get a re-design.
I never seen Cold Steel showcase the Liverpool Assassin,or the new Mini Buckler. Also, how about the Arkansas Toothpick or the Flanged Mace, from the recent years lineups?
I carry the Black Talon 2!!! I love it, I would love to get a Tiger Claw, but I want to see a Large version of this with atleast a 4 inch blade. That would be SICK!!
Get a diamond serration sharpening rod usually tapered for different sizes and match the serrated angle while dragging down. Pain in the butt like a chainsaw file lol
That knife is awesome and the finger ring really helps so that you don't lose it. I think the coolest thing something can do is WORK for what it is intended and this thing certainly does work. Cheers, Stick!
+csknives *Thanks for the demo of an electrician's utility knife tough enough for counterattacking a bandit.* Model 22C (plain edge) and 22KFS (serrated) have identical carry requirements.
Is Lynn Thompson and Andrew Demko… and that older big bearded gentleman with the hair still there and working at Cold Steel? Those guys were from like 10, 12, 13 years ago though. But still relevant.
Hey stick man how's it going brotha! The cold steel Tiger Claw 🐅 is one 💪bad ass unit! I've had one for a while now. And it is hands down one of my most lethal folders from Cold Steel. I own. 🤘⚔️🤘
I’ve seen a lot of videos where people laugh at and belittle those who carry karambit knives like the Tiger Claw or Spyderco Civilian, saying that these are not self-defense weapons and that the only thing they’re good for is to scare off an attacker with their intimidating look. Well, they just don’t understand how deadly and effective these weapons can be for self-defense. ;)
Can you guys do a video pressure testing these methods using some force on force training? I like Karambits, but I question if that’s really better then a fixed blade. For example, shivworks clinch pick, cold steel push knife, benchmade SOCP. I would appreciate a more in depth exploration of using the Tiger claw under pressure. Thanks CS!
Karambits are purpose built as weapons for inflicting damage on attackers, period. If you need your knife to do other things, a more traditional style will serve you better. I carry multiple knives in my day to day, including my Steel Tiger sometimes, but I'd never use that knife for anything besides defense.
@@WTFBazda Absolutely. I also designate one blade for defense only and one for utility. All the knives I mentioned in my original comment are specifically designed for defense. I just wanna see a training version of the blade deployed and used in force on force training. Force in force really shows us what’s effective and what’s not. I have no doubts about the tiger claws effectiveness as a weapon in extreme close quarters. I just wanna see it deployed when a fight has already began. As you probably know, we the good guys don’t choose when the fight happens. The bad guys choose when they attack. Not only that, but sometimes what you and I might perceive to be a hands only defensive encounter can quickly escalate into the bad guy introducing a weapon and thus our need to deploy a weapon under stress can then arise. Another example; three men in an elevator decide to try to jump you while your tiger claw is still in the pocket. Of course theres usually pre attack indicators, but we shouldn’t rely on pre attack indicators as our only method of reliable in-fight deployment. That’s where gross motor skill and training come in. I hope this clarify’s what I was asking in my first comment.
Ah Cold Steel I see you've found a similar background as my review on your tactical katana machete and others ^_^ well if you've noticed my videos, I'm honored and I would love to formally work with you. I enjoy your products
Bring back the medium Espada! Everyone wants an Espada but it’s not practical or legal for everyone. I want to bring one into the army but there’s restrictions on knives over four inches on a lot of bases
what a beautiful piece, being a collector of cold steel, and a user of many of its pieces, one day I would like to collaborate with you doing a review on my TH-cam channel in Spanish... Argentina
A friend tried grabbing you from the back in public playfully, you do this. A loved one snuck up on you and jumped on your back to surprise you, WITH COLD STEEL you can guarantee they won't ever do it again!
I'm not an expert in combat knives. but I know for sure that for training with combat knives, you need a model absolutely identical in size and weight to a combat knife, but blunt, not sharp. It's also nice to have a soft rubber imitation for training with a partner. And also, if you do NOT train your skills with weapons, you should not expect very good results when you need it. Even if it is the best knife on planet earth
I bought 10 knives the past month!... One of them was the Cold Steel Tuff Lite ... Honestly, I've never seen as shit a finish as the Tuff Lite!!! My first and last Cold Steel knife EVER!!!

Great story! (I think the more correct answer is carry two knives belt and boot!)

Everywhere.
Boot, belt, pocket, neck. Any angle position, you are covered

As a fellow leftie I appreciate the double sided pocket clips
This is why I only look at Cold Steel knives these days. They think of us lefties.
I like to carry on both sides.

I feel secure with my serrated Tiger Claw.
All I have to say is, please make more pocket knives with the pocket catch, and retention rings!
That knife is awesome and the finger ring really helps so that you don't lose it. I think the coolest thing something can do is WORK for what it is intended and this thing certainly does work. Cheers, Stick!
Serrated Black Talon II + firearm is my go to for this purpose.
I've been meaning to pick up a black talon for a long time. That is a wicked knife!
Rule number 1. Always carry a tiger claw or black talon 2. Because they are scary sharp.
the black talon is by far the better choice
@user-fj4qk6zd9vajnw put a ring on the black talon and I'd overwhelmingly agree
Great knife!! Love Cold Steel products!!
self defense should be taught in schools, children should grow up with these instructions. I play my role as a father.

Will there be more polypropylene stuff? Maces, clubs, axes...?
Stab with a kerambit? Not what it’s designed for.
Great video!!! Ordered the Tiger claw... No bullshit!!!
I carry my cold steel spartan every day!
I own dozens of knives and several cold steel knives and the spartan is edc too. The spartan is tough to beat
@@charlesdavis3923 Yeah I just had a fresh edge put on mine been carrying it for close to 12 years!
I like the videos with you because you are left handed and so am I and things look right for once
I do have 2 folding karambits and 1 custom fixed blade also a few other ring knives. I like how it's serrated all the way up.

4 inch ti lite with a ring finger?
How the heck do you have it already open on the way out of your pocket?!
Stick, my question is: would something like a double agent 1 clipped to the pocket work in this technique?
What if it's a friend giving you a hug from behind?
Nice I bought this exact knife after this review I love it

Cold steel rocks as always 👍
What happened to the last giveaway? The Lynn Thompson signature Spartan
It is in the next video .... The Shamshir. Thanks for supporting us .
Please make a smaller version. Tiger claw is great if not the best folding karambit but its just way too big and impractical

Cold steel my favorite knife🤛
I like this guy, he's fun.
parking lot sale?
I can see how a ring is better than a finger loop in a lanyard hole - finger loops flop out of the way.
I prefer my Kobun boot knife, inverted, on hip, in the 8"Oclock position. I'm left handed. My set up is far superior to this karambit.
Good demonstration!
At 20 seconds you can clearly see that knife has blood on it. Now I have to watch the rest of the video.

Can’t you clear a room with a ring knife already deployed and hanging off your ring? For parking lot mugging that’s not gonna work of course.
Amazing vid
That always comes in handy 😉
OMG!!! THIS IS PERFECT !!!
Awesome knifes!)
All cold steel products have gone up in price since their buyout. An xl Voyager ranged from 55.00 to 70.00, they are now 80.00 and up. 🤦🏻♂️
That’s also due to inflation, thanks to Trump, Biden, and Congress.
I guess that’s one way you could deal with an attacker…
Just stick man? Cool knife
Stay frosty stay strapped stay dangerous
Lmao, $199.00 for a cold steel knife!
The ring placement is horrible. It ruins the knife
Bela karambit utilitária

If I got that right the frame is just made from G10. There is no steel. If G10 breaks you have no knife.
do you plan on fighting a metal car door?
absolutelly usefull knife.
The unprotected trigger on the gun is pitiful
In real life self defense situation this will not work , on adrenaline you will just take your pistol automaticly and forget about the knife
