    This is my absolute favourite show on Sony BBC Earth. And as a *MASSIVE* Linkin Park fan, I could control my excitement when I heard the "What I've Done" instrumental at 0:41 - 1:16. I mean, I literally have that song as my phone's ringtone. And for a moment I thought, did my phone ring or something ? Rest in peace, Chester Bennington. You were an absolute legend, screw those people who call you a coward. 🤩🔥

    She is stunning, so beautiful. I got my interest in Gos' from a book.... H is for Hawk, a brilliant read. I aren't a falconer, just a very curious guy. Would be amazing to go hunting with one

    "Magnificent creature" is usually the first thing that comes to my mind to describe birds or prey like the goshawk.
    I remember having an interaction with one as a kid, while on a mountain hike with my father. I found a hawk feather off the side of the trail and not long after he said it was good fortune to find one, a hawk came out of nowhere and swooped down at me and flew off again.
    It seemed special at the time, but im sure it was just protecting a nest nearby and that close encounter was a warning. Amazing experience, nevertheless.

    Watching this before heading to the New forest to look for Goshawks, highly doubtful I'll see one but even a glimpse would be enough!

    The goshawk is a sparrow hawk on steroids.

    • @theasianflameskimmer5119
      @theasianflameskimmer5119 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      This would make sense because goshawks and sparrowhawks are in the genus accipiter so they’re closely related to each other this makes all accipiters have adaptations that specialize in their hunting like sparrowhawks, goshawks have short broad secondary feathered wings with slim primary feathers for fast maneuvers with a tail that used like an air-brake if the hawk needed to slow down. The only difference between sparrowhawks and goshawks is their size sparrowhawks being smaller than goshawks.

    • @amisfitpuivk

      You just stick the power cord into a potatoe. Or it has a battery like any other electronic device. Or the power of prayer made it work. Probably not that last one.

    Will admit, its not the most impressive thing I've see a goshawk do. They can do some amazing acrobatic stunts in half a second when chasing prey.

    • @lindacartwright5100
      @lindacartwright5100 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, I agree. An opportunity was missed to film some really good footage. Goshawk are known for their acrobatic agility.

    Privileged to have seen a Goshawk chase it’s prey (pigeon) kill it and eat it, it caused pandemonium the way it chased its prey, other birds scattered, one small bird hit the conservatory window and stunned itself, around 20-30 minutes to eat it, only the two feet and a beak and a few feathers was left on the lawn

    • @duncanbeard9460
      @duncanbeard9460 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I came home once & saw a large raptor ripping up a pigeon on our back lawn so I sneaked carefully upstairs with binoculars. It was too far away for a good photo but I noted all features eg 'stripy pyjamas' then looked it up, definitely a Goshawk. What a beast! Afterwards, there was just one claw & a bit of intestine of the pigeon left.
      At the other end of the size scale, we once saw a Hobby take a Blue Tit in our front garden, it was so fast!
