Nice to see a triboelectric generator without kapton or teflon
oh wow. cayrex. you generate electric from everything. i find your videos highly educative. thank you for the your videos.
Nice work 👍 Over on Robert Murray-Smith's channel he constructed one that uses conductive ink and a polyurethane coating, and extracts the charge collected by water falling through the atmosphere (rain essentially). It can be scaled up by linking multiple panels and left in the elements.
Check it out ✌️
Yes I know I make the first version which uses conductive ink which was based on Rob's previous version. Then Rob make his vesrsion which uses conductive ink. But I coated the ink with PVB
@@cayrex You are both GREAT!!!!!
Amazing to think just a bit of vibration and an ECU in a car can read faultlessly....
Look up Rf antenna designs, piezoelectric, skinny effects and the relationship of dielectric constant and materials.
This is a great find.
Thank you for sharing.
Very interesting experiment…
I also thought about something similar. What if you make the long strip really long, and roll it into a roll so it looks like a capacitor? This would make the generator more compact.
Idk it might generate it in different directions?
here is another subject that have a little bit conections to capacitor subject , mostly to materials that used between poles of it and different distance made by pushing and some compartment by batteries working , so much complicated category for reserching
Thank you so much for this video.
Interesting demonstration. New word learned.
Great invention I see first time. Wonderful. I don't know your background, but if ordinary person can make useful discoveries which help mankind, then top scientist can do more discoveries. But I see now a days most discoveries are make in the field of artificial intelligence, robotics, drones, bombs, space exploration, exploitation of fossil fuels etc
Thanks. The problem is that sometimes the top scientists will overcomplicate things.
I tried replicating it and only generated 0.01-0.08 V as a result. Im wondering what i possibly did wrong for it to be that low.
Did you remember to fold over the little bit of the foil that connects to the leads?
Good point @Andy-df5fj The sticky side of the aluminium will not give good conntact with the wire
@@Andy-df5fjyes i folded one end for the copper wire to conduct
Can we use kapton tape instead of the normal tape?
Very interesting!!!
Fascinating!
I love your background music man...nice
Try psyndora if u haven't
Piezoelectric effect....
Make a tree with these leaves. Connect diodes and capacitors and make a real generator (Thousands of leaves).
Speaking of tree. Grow a tree in a large pot With longer carbon rod electrodes in the soil. Keep the pot insulated from ground excepting the wire to the electrodes. As the tree grows tall, you'll be able to measure a current from ground through the wire to the electrodes in the pot.
Your tree's branches are a physical representation of the path electrons took to the sky, atmospheric electricity. Don't expect a "useful" amount of current but it's measurable none the less.
👍How big would it need to be to power my television? ;-)
Hahaha many square meters 😆
Great video. Can you provide some explanation for this?
Thank you. For more info you can just google for triboelectric effect / nanogenerator
Could you be accidently discharging it by touching it?
Keep in mind that your body also produces electricity, so you might want to wear rubber gloves to make sure your results are more accurate when you make experiments
I know it, that someone will point that out. For that reason I made a short video where I use gloves which I will upload later 😁 But I can say that I dont get any changes.
@@cayrex Try grounding the bottom plate to earth via a water pipe and connect the top plate a large sheet of insulated Al foil as a charge collector. The extra charge density will give you more voltage and hence more current.
@@cayrex I didn't mean to make you do extra work. I know it works
@@barabolak I know. I just make a short video for youtube shorts after the main video was finished
maybe that could flap in the wind?
Uhmmm, that looks like more electrostatic electricity... And don't forget the material of the table you're working on. It only works well in dry ambient... And anyway the current should be insignificant... Nice for a digital drum pads switch... Even if not too stable tension... But keep looking...
Triboelectric nanogenerator is able to transform almost all forms of mechanical stress to electrical energy which make good energy harvester. It make good voltage but really small current,.... for this reason are good for sensors, self powered sensors, etc. You also have triboelectric generators which can operate in almost all environments. I also see some research of triboelectric generators which also produce quite good current. So, in the end,.... let's see what will be the future in that area.
I don't think this technology is going to replace the electromagnetic generator in the near future.
Triboelectric nanogenerator is not meant to replace anything. It is a energy harvesting device which is mostly meant to be used for self-powered sensors, etc
Please correct me here if I’m wrong, but isn’t this device you just put together on video (A CAPACITOR)? Thank for sharing your knowledge with me.😅
Look at google for triboelectic generators
Think Is good for Wind Electric generation.
W Cayrex.
I think I will try to make some mini wind generator based on triboelectric modules
Awesome, that means the millions of illegal immigrants around the world sent over by Klaus can have a job rubbing bits of aluminium to generate electricity.
I wonder if sunlight has an effect on it.
Not really
Lo acabo de replicar y me dan 0'03 voltios.😂
it is very intresting but you have doing a very big mistake to used a digital avometer and you need an old analog avometer and a spectrom analyser , I do this and best metals was zinc and Iron , even sides maded changes in Experiments too much , you can seeing different just when putting matals by a plastic or Something else like a pice of piper
Electoral theory ?
Confused
Я один подумал, что прибор в конце сквиртанет?😃
😂
@@cayrex в нашем деле без юмора никак нельзя, можно с ума сойти от скуки😁
@@user-ju2yl6bz9y yes I agree 😁
Lol you just created crappy capacitor.
Dang dude, really? A capacitor?
🤔 Hmmm 👉 What about using wind to cause flapping and a simple voltage multiplier to increase the pulse voltage ⚡
merci beaucoup! ;-)
Interesting,... I will make a look into this. Thank you
