I've played a free trial for about 2 years now, minor breaks in between. I have a full account with a maxed character as well, but the trial has its own appeal. It's basically the closest thing to an ironman mode this game has. I've maxed out every job, both combat and non combat, even BLU, which I love, have every level 60 relic as well as the NIN (my main combat job) level 50 relic. Every ARR and Heavensward trial and raid mount (+ Kirin and Ifrit) and all but one Kamuy. All of the tribes completely maxed out. You'd be surprised just how much you can do on a trial. I'm nearing full completion (still need some hunts and some tank dungeon mounts), but even then the events (including moogle treasure trove) get me to come back to it every now and then. It's very easily, by a very long shot, the most generous trial I've ever seen in an MMO with literally thousands of hours of potential content, all while staying at level 60.
It really is the most generous trial you can play, and I haven't heard of anything coming even close to it! I like the idea of it being an iron man mode though, that thought never even crossed my mind.
@@andrewwillcockson8120 iron man mode is a mode in games, that is usually more challenging than it's standard mode. They usually have limitations like limited lives, or ammo. In MMOs it tends to be no trading or relyong on others

ive been a free trial player for like nearly 6 months now! and though it has its restrictions the game is still very playable and largely really fun! and I HARDLY have to wait for queues only on BIG patch days (which is understandable and fair for people who pay they take priority) still very much love the game and enjoy it!
It won't even let me try the game for free I started my acc in 2021 and got a few hours of trial and deleted it after bc I hadn't played even for like 2 hours, and I come back to try to get into the game with a free trial but I can't
I'm a free trial right now, while I hate not being able to yell/tell people I completely understand that part. I am considering subbing mainly for pvp but I want to unlock some of these classes and see what I want to play.
There are fcs out there for solo players, but yeah I didn't touch fcs for a while until friends invited me along, if not for that I wouldn't have joined one
The free trial is increasing to the next expansion soon, have a full account myself but excited to see what free trial accounts will have access to in that expansion (left the expansion unnamed so that in another 8 years when it increases again this comment is relevant once more)
The stormblood expansion was just added 2 to 3 months ago, to free trial. So unfortunately it'll be a little while before an other expansion will be put onto free trial. How long before then though is anyone's guess.
Just started on Xbox last night I’ve been hooked your guide was very informative. this trial is amazing especially watching now and knowing they’ve upped the cap to 70 and included more stuff can’t wait to see what else may get added
7:30. And that's why I couldn't do a free trial, even though I was in Heavensward at the time. I started playing during 2.0.Then stopped playing for a while after Heavensward came out. I just finished the main story for Shadowbringers and I'm slowly working on catching up.
Yeah once you have subbed, you can't turn back. Of course you can create a whole new account... But if you're looking to use your own character you have already worked on, then it'd be an issue obviously.
The only thing I haven’t liked or understood about the Free trial is probably the limitations on Friend requests, free companies and party creation I for instance have a couple friends who I’ve convinced to potentially try the game free trial as I am doing, but because of the limitations we can’t play together as the only friend of mine I know that would be able to invite us to a party no longer plays the game currently. So we are essentially limited to trying to ask random people in game to try and make the party or get lucky on duty finder. It just seems like a wasted opportunity for a game that is MULTIPLAYER to limit such a thing for a free trial
Unfortunately, that limitation is for a reason, as a lot of the free trial limitations are for the same reasons, and it's rmt players, people popping onto free trial accounts to sell gil and other things, so you can't invite people to a party, which stops real money traders and bots trying to mass invite people, you can't use a lot of the in game communication to avoid those players and bots spamming. Most free trials for any mmo are about the same in that regard. Free companies, guilds and that sort of thing is the same as well for other mmo trials, it's to stop abuse to some degree. So there isn't really a missed opportunity as it is game and player protection. But on the other hand I can see why it's such a ball ache when you only want to play with your friends, and what is supposed to be protection, is more of a hindrance
@@DyingLegacy To be fair, while I understand the reason for protection the easiest way to implement a counter measure for such things is to allow players to mute/block/auto-ignore players/characters/free companies etc that they don’t want to interact with For the chat abuse they could also implement a spam limitation in messages within certain channels aimed at messages of a certain length or a block of messages containing websites that aren’t accepted (ie discord etc) that are reputable sites The reality is that such parasites will remain no matter what developers do and limitations on player interaction only hinders the multiplayer aspects of their multiplayer game, without adding tools for the players to protect themselves
@@oprime0078 blocking and ignoring is an easy fix, but it's down to the banning. It takes time and resources to continuely ban those types of accounts, so the easiest fix on the developer wide is to deter. Not to mention, most of us don't like having to spend our day ignoring and blocking. You could limit spam. But you couldn't limit 100... As it would still be 100
@@BaschBarrage The sub isn't worth it. If you prohibit people trying an MMORPG from accessing the basic social utilities that makes an MMO an MMO that is just discouraging, not encouraging. I have played dozens of MMORPGs over the years and this is the only one I can think of that restricts this feature from free players while hiding under the excuse of gold selling. Just play Guild Wars 2. 30 bucks and you get everything without the need to pay ever again unless you want more content. Fairer business model in every sense.
I stretched the free trial out as far as I could- back when it was only up to level 35! and then I didn't even get _to_ heavensward until it was free trial.
i just got the game for Xbox Series S, and this helps me allot and feel confident about trying the game out! my friends have been trying to get me to get the game but i haven't been able to get it due to not having a good computer but now i have the Xbox Series S, i am able to get the game!
I've been playing the free trial for about 3 months, have almost finished the ARR MSQ and still have so much to do! My only complaint is not being able to use the retainers and market board because I'm drowning in crafting materials and am constantly running out of bag space.
You do have a chocobo saddle to use as well if you have gotten your chocobo. I know it's not much, but it has the inventory of 1 retainer almost. But yeah, space can be a bit inconvenient on free trial
Great video, I just started playing because of my daughter and son in law play. Not big on anime so free Trial is the way to go figuring out if I want to drop money on the game. It so far has been a very generous free trial. Thank you for the limitations video.
@@DyingLegacy Thank you. I'm lvl 7 right now, it's Very different than what I'm used to (WoW, FO76) But not bad. I'm sure the experience will improve once rolling with my high lvl daughter lol. Cool for mentioning the 'you can't send mail but you can receive', I was wondering about that.
@AK-460Magnurse yeah just like any tab target mmo, wow for instance, where things tend to evolve over time. Every bit of information helps, plus because it's a free trial, it's best to know what that entails so ye have a better understand of what you're limited by and what you'd be spending money for.
I'd recommend looking for a settings vid. There's a lot of customization you can do with the settings, and some of them should be by default. There's also been a lot of WoW refugees, so check out some guides or vids to see the difference. The big ones I've heard about are: - FF has an awesome story, don't just skip. - Healers are expected to do damage in FF XIV. - You don't need to do all the quests. Focus on the Meteor (Main Story) and Blue (unlocks) ones.
I started FF14 when it first released on PS4 (I know it was an PC before than along with the I hear dreadful version 1.0) which there was no such thing as free trail for the game yet. What we did have is a "free" 30 day subscription. Technically it was.'t free because you still have to pay retail price for the game, meaning the 30 day subscription is already paid for.
Thanks for this video! I just started playing the free trial on 3.10.23 ...I think I'm still giong to stick with it to lvl 60 or if I get close to 300k gil. I'm level 21 i think now. I was wondering a bout a few things and this video cleared it up for me. Though I may just break down and sub soon anyway since it seems like a game i'd like to spend a lot of time in.
@@djd3693You can play all jobs on the same character (if you have that expansion.) Check out the Blue Quests to unlock stuff. Yellow quests you can mostly ignore. There are a lot of new player guides on TH-cam. Be sure to check some of them out. The game is fun, but it doesn't do a great job of teaching you some things.
I just wish they'd let free trial accounts get married in FF14. For our 5th year as an RL married couple we thought it would be cute if we got married in the digital realm of Eorzea. My husband took control of my (free account) female avatar then leveled her up to the requirement for Marriage and we paid like 1 month for my account to be active.. Enough time to book the in-game wedding and doll up my avatar. Seeing the cut scene was cute but then I realized I didn't understand much of the lore of the game and why my husband was drawn to it. We agreed as a family we shouldn't keep paying for my service if I was unsure about FF14 and if it was the right game for me. So I ended up creating a brand new (free trial) account because my other (married) one couldn't re-vert back to the 'free trial' status.
i've been a free trial for about 4 or 5 years. Because i play maybe once or twice a week or every other week for about an hour or 2. I'm just exploring and reading the quests and stories. I never get into it because it just feels really slow.
@@Msaber2012 That makes complete sense, no point paying a sub for a weekly jump on. Especially if you have content galore already. And 5 years of that's a long time. Nice.
Especially annoying as someone who plays from Australia that plays with American friends i have to create a character in a American data center and just follow my friends instead of adding them as a friend or invite them to a group
Some of these things have been changed in the free trial mode like the ability to access the market board. But you still can't join a free company. I love the game and knew Id want the subscribed version immediately but only bc I think free trial is primarily reserved for people to try the game and see if they like it. As it is the best MMO with the best theme and best story I've ever played I totally don't mind giving square enix my money to build as many more games of this quality as they can
In beta, and on the trial version, which the beta is on xbox, you can't invite people to groups or that. You have to be subbed to be able to do things of that nature.
I tried free trial this morning I died by hitting something in pve above my item level. I fell unconcious... could not get back up. I had option to teleport back to city i clicked no. After i selected that. There was no other signs or even options telling me what to do now i was down was no click a select button to release me from my location. Which i found very stupid. I realised that was a mistake clearly! What if that was a miss click? Most mmos just automatically zone you back to your local safe haven or outside the nearest gate. I found my self looking at my characters dead body lol someone kindly ressurected me. If i had of logged out and i had still be on the floor in the same spot with no options, id have quit the game 100% id have been in limbo 😂 this game has some serious issues for very very new players who are completely clueless like my self. The hud is the same. Its hard to adapt to lol
@breteboy1968 I don't think I have ever run into that issue 😂 unfortunately your city is the safe haven. But I can definitely understand quitting at that point. The Hud is completely customizable, so you can fix it up how you like. If the Hud isn't great for you at the moment, I'd say start with that. As you'll just get more and more annoyed with it.
this video would've been helpful 30 days ago when i bought the full game. now my account is completely locked out and i cant go back. enjoyed the free version, so i bought the full game just to have square enix take away everything and say "nuh uh, more money please" despite the game being completely free before. ruined my entire day.
I just got ff14 im like 8+ hrs in deep and convinced my partner to play. Unfortunately I did not know about the party restrictions, so ill likely have to ask random people in public chat to invite me/my partner, despite being nervous about that since its circumventing the restriction. Or just buy and sub to the game :/. I only have finished up to Sylphic Studies in the MSQ as well, unfortunate that I am being forced to pay if I want to play w/my partner.
People can invite ye both to a party with no problem, and it won't be circumventing, so don't worry about that. Loads of people only play the trial and have ungodly amounts of hours that way. As long as you have someone set up the party for ye, ye are all grand.
@@DyingLegacy thats a relief to hear, still though I would love to not have to do that every time we play lmao. Ahh choices choices, no market board isn't great either tbh

What do you mean buying the game? Doesn't the free trial have the base game? I thought you have to pay for a subscription and not buy an entire game since it's offered on the free trial? im confused.
I would've been playing already if i could duo the game with my wife. Not being able to easily party together (let just free people create parties with other trial people?) makes it unappealing to even try.
@@DyingLegacy yup thats true. I tried spending it base on some advice from youtube and other people but still, I always hit the 300k cap. How important is Gil anyway? The very reason I found to save Gil is the marketboard and housing. Is there anything else?
@@Sauce-ke That's about it really, mostly on housing, and the market board. Obviously normal market vendors, but even they aren't overly necessary most of the time.
I’m really tempted to play this game. But I’m really hesitant if I should directly start with the full version or trial. I have seen enough trial videos. So do you advice me to buy the full version and start directly?😅
I know I should not be complaining about something I'm getting for free, but ... I've been on the free trial for a while now and I wish I could at least respond to people who PM me first or PM people who added me as a friend. I feel like those are cases that bots wouldn't be able to abuse (correct me if I'm wrong). I find myself actively avoiding people because I feel like a burden, not being able to communicate unless invited to a party or linkshell. I also feel super awkward and rude not responding to people's tells or responding in general chat for everyone to see. I feel like if they changed the restrictions just a tiny bit to allow free trial players to PM friends or people who PMed them first it would go a long way into retaining and converting free trial players.
They can very much abuse pm'ing. Nothing like constant messages about where to buy gil. And if anything it's the lack of those communication tools is what converts players from free trial, as they finally get full use of communication tools. But on the flip side, it's completely understandable to be a little frustrated that you can't properly communicate if you're on free trial, as you miss out on the grander idea of it being an mmo.
@@DyingLegacy Yeah, I get it that botters would abuse it if free trial players could PM just anyone willynilly. But I'm not asking for that! What I'm wishing for is that they'd allow you to REPLY to people who PMed you FIRST and let you PM people who are on your friends list. I don't see how bots would be able to abuse that unless they could somehow get people to PM them first or to add them as friend? Either way it would go a long way in making new free trial players feel more welcome.
@@Kitty-Cat Now granted, I feel you should be able to reply as well, and if someone has you on their friendslist, you should be able to message them, as I can't imagine people are adding bots as friends.
Need help just bought the new expansion, been some time that i have played had to reregister but some of my characters have a x on them and i can't login or delete them never seen this before all it says is i can't login with this current account
@mustycrusty754 if you got it on steam, you need to copy the game key from there and register it to your account. You can also check your account status on the mog station
One thing maybe should be considered before creating a free trial account: You can't use the same account for multiple platforms to play on. E.g. once you registered your free trial account for Playstation you can't use the same account to play on PC. So if someone would like to switch, they would need a new SE-Account to create a new free trial. Also there has been a change recently regarding the character creation: You can have more than 1 character on one server/world but you can't create more than 8 characters in total at your account. And well yeah, playing the game since 1.0 sooo I didn't started with a free trial xD but I do have free trial accounts just to test what is possible and what not. It is really helpful for know what the restictions are and I'm really thankful for the video.
I covered the use of accounts being just one, but maybe I should of gone into full detail. The character change has happened, but square never updated there restrictions list properly on it, so I wasn't sure 😂So I am glad to have it here in the comments, thank you!! I may actually start a trial account in the future to test things!
Do you know if you are able to transfer already made characters to the free trial? Like from windows to ps4? I have a lvl 34 character from windows that i would like to transfer to ps4 and was wondering if they can be brought over to the free trial or if i just have to buy the game again?
Wow. A lot is locked.. but I'm good I guess. I'm new just got to lv 30 and unlocked my first dungeon I guess just doing the story you over level. I didn't know there was a market in the game tell now. They say it's a lot to do in game. think I'll be lv 60 before the story gets good. Or start lol I hope not getting bored with all the Fetching quest.
Things change a lot once you get to the level 50 quests. Base game was just a form of patchwork for a realm reborn when they were rebuilding it. The expansions are a lot better formed and concisely put together.
I just started the game a couple of days ago on PC with the expanded free-trial and sub and I'm loving it so far. I'm having a harder time deciding which class and species to play than anything else! 😅 Also I'm going to wait for Dawntrail's release to buy the whole thing as I've read that you get the previous expansions if you just buy the most recent one.

@@traviseaton6651 It's a coop game built around a solo experience. And every player knows that, and is very very welcoming to people because of it. Honestly just a few alterations would make me more likely to converter to sub.. if someone else whispers you for fucks sake let me reply in whisper but only like once per received whisper or for x ammount of time after getting a whisper.. 2 raise the dang currency cap to like 500.. to let people get a taste of housing.
Housing tends to be limited as it is, so I don't ever see them letting trials get houses. However I do agree with the whispers, you should be able to reply at least
Its either or, its down to how you prefer to play. You can play with controller kn both and mouse and keyboard on both. And no differences between the versions that I am aware of
The amount of customization you can do for playing is incredible. If you go controller, look up some controller guides. The game is playable at the highest level with either mouse & keyboard or controller.
I purchased FFXIV years ago and my free 30 days have ended. I am still in school so Free Trial is the best choice I can have atm. I also love that they expanded it and the limitations don't really affect me since i just love raiding bosses and running around killing stuff.
I just started playing the game not too long ago. Still debating on whether to pull the trigger on a purchase just so that I can join a Free Company and chat with others while playing.
@DyingLegacy I think I'm going to do it. I've been a wow player for many many years as a healer, and the game is getting so complicated that running dungeons is more stressful than my current job. I play a white mage currently (level 37) and the simplicity in the healing as well as the telegraphed mechanics have me pretty hooked.
So I am a fan of Warcraft 1, 2 & 3. I so badly wanted to play when it came out but never got the opportunity when I was younger. I have tried wow multiple times like 6 or 7 times. Wow is just to complicated and boring for me. I have wanted to try ff14 but didn’t know it was on Xbox. After playing for a couple days I absolutely love it. Definitely wouldn’t mind subscribing!
@@DyingLegacy yes I already subscribed! It’s literally the funnest mmo I’ve ever played! It doesn’t feel like I have to be a try hard. I can casually play the game and really enjoy it!
Hey DL, I’m new around the FF14 space and am debating starting a free trial. My main motivation for wanting to start FF14 is that I really want to play a Red Mage, as it’s a favorite archetype of mine for RPGs, and my favorite job from the mainline FF series. If I were to download and start a free trial, and if I like the game enough to move on to a sub and get into further expansions, where should I start? I know the Red Mage isn’t a starting class, so I’m wondering where to start knowing where I want to end up if I decide I really enjoy the game. Also this video was very informative, thank you!
Start anywhere. Every job is completely different, and even among mages, the red mage is quite varied, as it jumps between ranged and melee. Every job levels separately, and a lot of them start 10 levels below their expansions start point. Expansion wise, You have to clear the Main story line of the previous content to progress, as it's all linear and connected. So basically, start with any class reach level and own the Stormblood expansion, to instantly jump to Red Mage that starts at level 50 :)
Only restriction is the lvl 1 clothing you start with. Plus you can't use viera or hrothgar unless you have the corresponding expansions. Hrothgar and viera don't do well with headgear though. That's it on that.
I'm currently downloading it now and was wondering when the stormblood expansion is coming out for free trial players cause I cant find the date plus are they raising vl cap?
hi im a free trial right now may i ask if i progress my character to lvl 25 then i get the complete edition do i have to start the character all over or do i have to create a new account?
You can upgrade to paid account, but not downgrade to free trial. You can use a free trial and paid account on the same PC. As it would require a separate square enix account.
I am downloading free trial right now, but i wanted to ask will i be able to get stormblood for free when it hit f2p trial or no? Or i had to wait it to release to free trial then download it? Thx..
What no? Everyone has access to the free trial. If you buy the steam version you get a sub with it. and if you use that sub you are not free trial. And can never be free trial again on that account. The moment you sub at all. You don't need to pay anything for free access. I do believe when you buy the steam version, you have to use the sub yourself, so you can just continue on as a free trial. But it's been a long time since I did it myself. Just go to the square enix website and download the free trial from there.
@@victor_734 I have no idea about PlayStation unfortunately, your best bet is to check the actual square enix website to make sure yourself, however a quick google search says to search for Final Fantasy xiv online free trial in the play station store. Or press download free demo, don't spend the 15 euro as that's not free trial.
I just talked with a friend about it as I did play the free trial but heard that after 30 days I have to pay to continue playing the game, and I just can't bring myself to play FF14O as I think P2P (pay-to-play) is a dumb thing to have for the game, it's just like Wizard101. WoW on the other hand is just as bad as I have to keep subscribing otherwise I would be locked out of my characters that's passed 20 (which I didn't know was a thing until that happen) and I just fucking drop that shit right away. The only MMO Game so far is SWTOR as I just need to sub ONCE and I'm fine all around and need to sub again if I get to the point of heading to the next expansion.
@@DyingLegacy Yea if Square Enix stopped being greedy and just allow a one way purchase at least and just play it normally (no time limit) I’m all for it and have the sub be EXP Boost and better rewards. Or it’s F2P and again with the sub be what I said previously, I’ll still be up for it.
@XxXVideoVeiwerXxX Yoi can be invited to parties though. I can see the reasoning behind it. Avoiding bot spam. But I'm sure there are better ways around it.
"Play ff14 up to the part where the story actually gets good!" "Socialize with people in this MMO" meanwhile the demo completely alienates you from everyone. And the community desperately wants to help newbies yet we cant accept trades? A bad demo for an MMO when youre only getting a grain of 'Massive Multiplayer Online'
They have limitations for a reason and outta all the subscription mmos, it has the best trial. At the end of the day, it's a free trial. Not a free to play.
@@DyingLegacy free trial for the story, not the MMO part of the game. Which is weird since there are instances where they force you to play by yourself. There was a demo for PSOU on console. @@toidIllorTAmI It's a free trial, stating it's just for the story makes no sense. Yeah it's a ball ache, but that tends to be how must free trials are for mmos. There are fcs out there for solo players, but yeah I didn't touch fcs for a while until friends invited me along, if not for that I wouldn't have joined one

Interesting! I just started playing today. Very exciting to know that even more content will be available for me
The stormblood expansion was just added 2 to 3 months ago, to free trial. So unfortunately it'll be a little while before an other expansion will be put onto free trial. How long before then though is anyone's guess.
Stormblood was only added 2 months ago, so yeah.. be another bit before they add shadowbringers, if they plan on doing that

The only thing I haven’t liked or understood about the Free trial is probably the limitations on Friend requests, free companies and party creation
I for instance have a couple friends who I’ve convinced to potentially try the game free trial as I am doing, but because of the limitations we can’t play together as the only friend of mine I know that would be able to invite us to a party no longer plays the game currently.
@@DyingLegacy To be fair, while I understand the reason for protection the easiest way to implement a counter measure for such things is to allow players to mute/block/auto-ignore players/characters/free companies etc that they don’t want to interact with
For the chat abuse they could also implement a spam limitation in messages within certain channels aimed at messages of a certain length or a block of messages containing websites that aren’t accepted (ie discord etc) that are reputable sites
The reality is that such parasites will remain no matter what developers do and limitations on player interaction only hinders the multiplayer aspects of their multiplayer game, without adding tools for the players to protect themselves
As it would still be 100
well, buy the game then lol

The sub isn't worth it.

The big ones I've heard about are:
- FF has an awesome story, don't just skip.

I never really thought about free trials and marriage in FF14. I'd assume there's a reason behind it. But for the life of me, I can't think why!
i've been a free trial for about 4 or 5 years.
Nice.
@@DyingLegacy and in those 5 years I'm only lv 30 on all my available jobs lol and only lv 30 on cooking

Especially annoying as someone who plays from Australia that plays with American friends i have to create a character in a American data center and just follow my friends instead of adding them as a friend or invite them to a group
They are working on that to a degree, but that's not really uncommon with mmo servers
Some of these things have been changed in the free trial mode like the ability to access the market board. But you still can't join a free company. I love the game and knew Id want the subscribed version immediately but only bc I think free trial is primarily reserved for people to try the game and see if they like it. As it is the best MMO with the best theme and best story I've ever played I totally don't mind giving square enix my money to build as many more games of this quality as they can
Exactly, it's a free trial, not a free to play. Can you really use the market board now?
screw it. im gonna download it and give it a shot
You have nothing to lose!
I'm going in for a free trial on ps5! Let's go!
Fantastic! Enjoy the Journey and get lost in the story!
Well, from Xbox perspective, you can’t even join up with your friends which boggles my mind
In beta, and on the trial version, which the beta is on xbox, you can't invite people to groups or that. You have to be subbed to be able to do things of that nature.
Thanks for this
You're very welcome, anything to help!
I tried free trial this morning
I died by hitting something in pve above my item level.
@@tinycandleman That's very unfortunate

Yea...buying the game I mean buying the endwalker expansion to get everything with no restrictions
I would've been playing already if i could duo the game with my wife. Not being able to easily party together (let just free people create parties with other trial people?) makes it unappealing to even try.
The thing I hate about free trial is the gil cap. Getting 300k is so easy. I hit 300k when im just level 40 and MSQ at level 25 lol
Being capped is a pain, the bigger pain is not even having anything to spend it on, as you can't get housing or using the market board even
@@DyingLegacy yup thats true. I tried spending it base on some advice from youtube and other people but still, I always hit the 300k cap. How important is Gil anyway? The very reason I found to save Gil is the marketboard and housing. Is there anything else?

One thing maybe should be considered before creating a free trial account:
You can't use the same account for multiple platforms to play on. E.g. once you registered your free trial account for Playstation you can't use the same account to play on PC. So if someone would like to switch, they would need a new SE-Account to create a new free trial.
Also there has been a change recently regarding the character creation:
You can have more than 1 character on one server/world but you can't create more than 8 characters in total at your account.
Unfortunately you can't do any transfer like that.

@@DyingLegacy Sweet! I’ll keep all that in mind, thanks! :)

Only restriction is the lvl 1 clothing you start with. Plus you can't use viera or hrothgar unless you have the corresponding expansions. Hrothgar and viera don't do well with headgear though. That's it on that.
@@DyingLegacy Then there is restrictions after all. If i buy expansions but i do not subscribe i still be able to go on free trial?
@@Betonoszlop No you won't be able to. The moment you sub, you stop being a free trial. And you can't go back.
@@DyingLegacy i see, ok
Can you buy mounts on a free trial
You can earn them from quests, but not buy them
Does anyone know if there will be a free trial for console after the beta or will it only be pay to play
There will probably be a free tiral as the play station has it
and the ads says play for free
That would be the point of a free trial. yes.
I'm currently downloading it now and was wondering when the stormblood expansion is coming out for free trial players cause I cant find the date plus are they raising vl cap?
The level cap will raise to lvl 70 for free trial players, as for the release it may not be until dawn trail comes out.. so a year possibly
@@DyingLegacy thx for the quick reply I did abit of researching and its cooming out next month with patch 6.5 it seems
@juannito6318 that's perfect, only a month that's not bad at all. You're very welcome
There is alot for free just wish i could at least make a party with other free trial buds
It would be handy, but it is what it is I guess. And unfortunate.
hi im a free trial right now may i ask if i progress my character to lvl 25 then i get the complete edition do i have to start the character all over or do i have to create a new account?
No, it just switches to being a sub account and lets you continue straight from where you are
Dumb question maybe, but what happens if you have the subscription, get to lvl 60+, and then go f2p? Can you still access your account?
Once you get a sub you'll always be able to access your account. You just won't be able to play if you don't renew it
@@DyingLegacythank you so much!
@@Nancy-ff5tr you're very welcome!
Can i switch free trial account and paid account on the same pc with full game installed?
You can upgrade to paid account, but not downgrade to free trial. You can use a free trial and paid account on the same PC. As it would require a separate square enix account.
@@DyingLegacy ah so full version of the game is only tied to my account instead to my pc also. thanks for the information!
@@zettonhz yeah, it's just to the account, no worries, you're welcome!
Do you have to have for the subscription after a month?
To stay on Free trial, you can't sub at all. The moment you sub, you are locked in, to the paid version and can not become a trial account again.
But as long as you stay on the free trial and don't sub it will stay free
@@katiekaliber this^^^
a little question If ever I subscribe can I still play as free to play after the subscription or do I need to subscribe again to play?
Once you subscribe, your account can never be free to play again
Does the trial period run out?
It does not
I am downloading free trial right now, but i wanted to ask will i be able to get stormblood for free when it hit f2p trial or no? Or i had to wait it to release to free trial then download it? Thx..
Stormblood will be free and included with the trial when it's released for free trial soon
@@DyingLegacy even if i took free trial now? Wow, thx! You made my day sir!
@hrvojebockaj4522 even if you start now!
ye hear that they're adding Stormblood for Trial players this September?
I did in dees, which is great news!
So basically if you buy the base game for 14,99 you get access to the free trial which means that you don’t need a subscription?
@@DyingLegacy I’m on playstation, not pc and to me it seems like I can’t just get access to a free trial
@@DyingLegacy okay thanks man!
@@victor_734 You're very welcome!
If that's how you think, it can't be helped. Everyone has what they enjoy, no point going outside that
@@DyingLegacy Yea, it was fun until that point I just dropped it. Was hoping I stay as a free trial but sadly not.
@@RandomlyQuestionsThings It's as good a reason as any
@@DyingLegacy Yea if Square Enix stopped being greedy and just allow a one way purchase at least and just play it normally (no time limit) I’m all for it and have the sub be EXP Boost and better rewards. Or it’s F2P and again with the sub be what I said previously, I’ll still be up for it.
the start of heavens vward not all unless they changed it :)
in other words ur basically shadow banned until further notice aka buy the actual game
It's one way of looking at it actually
lol I didnt even know it has a free trial until to late so I started as a pay per month player lol
The question is though... is it worth it?
Wow thats insane, you can't even form parties as free trial wtf??????
@XxXVideoVeiwerXxX Yoi can be invited to parties though. I can see the reasoning behind it. Avoiding bot spam. But I'm sure there are better ways around it.
@@DyingLegacy I wanted to try the game with a buddy...can't do that apparently, pretty lame.
@@XxXVideoVeiwerXxX It's just one of those things unfortunately
It lasted quite a while but you were limited in story. I loved the community and online so much that it made me purchase the game.
@@toidIllorTAmI It's a free trial, stating it's just for the story makes no sense. Yeah it's a ball ache, but that tends to be how must free trials are for mmos. And the PSOU demo was plagued by message spam, the same type of spam limited communication is there to prevent. Not to mention, you can play all the way to Stormblood for free.
@@DyingLegacy everyone gives me the excuse of "oh it's because there would be spammers" okay so why do I always come across spammers trying to sell Gill at the main cities every single time? Not to mention the FC whisper spam... It's just a silly excuse when they can just give free trial players their own (probably terrible) servers or how about implementing a setting to block all free trial users? This demo isn't selling me the MMO it's selling me the RPG.
About PSOU, the OGs hung out around the last area because bots don't make it that far. Very simple fix since I rarely see lvl 90s in lvl 20- areas in ff14. I have countless fond memories on that Demo. ❤
@@toidIllorTAmI It's one thing stopping it from the free trials, more difficult stopping paid subs. There would be a larger influx from free trials. It sounds like your just looking for a phantasy star game than anything else
That means i should not waste my time in this game
Least now ya know
@DyingLegacy thanks bro your video saved me before downloading 70GB game(my country using limited internet meaning I have 250 GB only monthly)
@@silfantomhifgaming Wow, I'm glad I could help out, Really would of been a lot to use for something you wouldn't have been interested in
you mean first 2 expansions, not first, kekw.
Is a trap.
So you later not only pay for every expansion, but also a monthly fee plus store.
And the monthly fee is not cheap.
In Guild Wars 2 you only pay for the expansions. No montly fee. But there is a store.
I like Guild Wars 2 model better. As it makes more sense.
So basically for not paying subcribtion you just need to be homeless, always poor and anti-social. I get the message
A recession simulator basically.
the pvp is gone to never return to the free trial, just buy a subscription
A lot of people don't have the money, or time to warrant it. But yeah... Sub is the only way to do pvp. I quite like crystal conflict. For me the sub warrants it.
Still no PVP. Which is why ill never return.
However you can 1v1 in the training grounds.
1v1 just isn't the same though, but yeah it's a shame you can't pvp on the free trial
My son just paid 11.99 on ps5 store does this mean his not free trial and brought the game?
I don't own a ps5, check the bundle information. But I would assume so. However, I believe you have to activate the sub. It's what you need to do on steam at least
