    Love those front switchbacks! If I bought those, and a pair of LEDs for the rear, would 1 pair of resistors cover both front and back?

    • @diodedynamics
      @diodedynamics  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Brian! You would need a pair for the front and a pair for the rear.

    On your home page you state that your led bulbs are not for headlight use. Saying that as of 2007 federal law does not allow the use of the bulb for headlight use , want to make the change but at what cost? Is this a case of proceed at your own risk?

    • @diodedynamics

      Hey Gary! No, we do not recommend replacing your halogen bulbs with LEDs because it is illegal in the US.

    • @garyo408
      @garyo408 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You do not recommend it because it is illegal yet that's exactly what you do in this video. You can't have it both ways. The video contradicted everything you print and say with a tongue in cheek attitude . I know it's illegal but it seems everyone is in stalling them anyway. I'll have to think about it , you are not the only ones promoting the LED for headlight use in their videos some with no warning.

      @@diodedynamics found it on TH-cam while looking for LED Headlight bulbs and LED Bulb install. This is not the only video that installed LED as headlights , just about every site has video installing them. Here in Arizona there are so many trucks that have done the LED install. Looks like I will push the envelope and do the same using light set. Wasn't trying to give you guys a hard time , just wanted to get a clearer idea of the whole light installation thing. Thanks for all the information.

    Just watched and loved the video. I had just put new bulbs in my truck yesterday and it made no noticeable difference so I am taking them out and looking for LED. I'm just curious if the bulbs you sell are justifiably five times more expensive than those found on say Amazon?

    • @diodedynamics
      @diodedynamics  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Shawn - it really comes down to the reliability and the beam pattern. With generics you find on eBay or Amazon, you will get bulbs that do not last as long, and do not perform well optically. These bulbs were designed with that in mind, and use many genuine components, hence the higher price.

    I got a few questions here. First off, does this mean that resistors are required to have these upgrades? If so, do I need a resistor per light or only on the turn signal lights? Also, have anyone used these upgrades led lights without the resistors? Lastly, how long do they last?

    • @diodedynamics
      @diodedynamics  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Resistors are not needed for the headlight bulbs, as generally that is just turn signal applications. When installing on turn signals, you will need one resistor per bulb. If you choose not to install resistors, it will not hurt the bulb or vehicle in any way, it will just hyper-flash.

    I purchased the led switchback turn signals for my 2016 F150 and watched this video for installation. I followed the video exactly, skipping my resistor kit because I only watched as far as the bulb installation. The bulb itself does not hyperflash, but the turn signal indication in the dash does. Would installing the resistor kit resolve that issue?

    • @diodedynamics
      @diodedynamics  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Austin! Yes, resistors will be required in order to stop that hyper-flashing inside the truck. If you need anything else, just let us know!

    Or is it ok to leave dangling from the wires?

    Do you offer HID bulb upgrade for 2016-2018 Silverado? Perhaps white bright HID bulbs that work with the OEM ballast?
    The OEM color is 💩 and doesn't produce much light on dark rainy roads that have no lines or old non reflective lines. Truck is a 2018 with 39,000 miles, it seems they've never really been bright.
    My 2012 Tundra with 55,000 miles has OEM Original Halogens and they shine better on the road.

      Not at all actually with the SL1! Since it mimics the beam pattern of a stock bulb compared to just spraying light everywhere, the overall light output is great, with no glare.
