I just saw Thornhill on the Silent Planet tour. They were awesome. Jacob is super talented. He even had a pig squeal or 2 in his back pocket and was like "yeah yall didnt know!" Lol
Really loving this track. I think Thornhill have established their sound and it translates so much live. Good for them for doing something ballsy and making it work without being generic and still being huge in the scene! (cum metal) 😂

Cum metal baby. It's like a blend between Dark pool and Heroine. They still have a majority of Heroine vibes but brought a better amount of TDP in the mix and i'm all here for it. Don't know if you've ever heard them live but it's where Heroine shine, kinda agree about the prod on the album tho. By curiosity, do you know the band Artificial language? A super good prog metal band like aviations and their new single Skinwalker is really good. Don't need to react to it on youtube but i'm pretty sure you'll like it :)
For anybody non Australian, and everyone saying “oh definitely Deftones” etc. no. If you’re going to compare Thornhills sound to another band it’s INXS and if you don’t know who they are then I can’t help ya.
I like this new song, but I find that sometimes the voice is too under-mixed and it sounds a bit messy. I'll see how it sounds live on March 14th. I love this band because of this channel. Thanks

People acting like everything that has heavy riffs and crooning vocals is Deftones, or like most metalcore isn't derivative of other bands anyway. The Dark Pool was an amazing album but clearly influenced by a band like Northlane, for example.
Don't get me wrong, I'm a die hard deftones fan, but I really don't get why every time a band tries to incorporate any shoegaze or grunge elements in their music nowadays so many people say they are ripping off deftones. Like, sure, deftones might've been the first shoegaze metal band out there (I think?), but there are so many other bands you could compare this sound to. Not everything is deftones, people...

People crap on mumble-rap for every artist sounding the same....i feel modern metalcore and djent is heading towards the same outcome, every band is starting to sound the same to me. Just my opinion.
I would pretty much echo your thoughts on the last record. The vocal effects were too much and took away from the overall sound. This song is solid though. Just a better blend of what they were trying to achieve before. I dig it.
I agree that heroin was held back by that vocal effect, and I just couldn’t listen to the album, it grated on me. I really like this song. Especially if I don’t think about The Dark Pool, I can compare this to a band like Tigercub it has a great vibe and lots of subtle interesting change ups, instrumentally, structurally, and vocally. I can’t bring myself to say your silly word, I’m just not behind that term. I guess it’s not my sense of humor, but I did watch the whole video!
I know they said they were done with Metalcore after TDP and they can do whatever they want. But it still erks me that they made one of the best Metalcore albums in TDP and now are a Deftones tribute band. And i like Deftones! Cum metal
