That 2 second Fallon impression is the most accurate I've ever seen. Carvey will forever be one of the masters at impersonations. He focuses on the subtle things other people may miss.
he doesn't really do impressions, he does caricatures, but what makes them great is they are FUNNY. Lots of impressionists nail the voice and mannerisms, but they can't write funny material. Dana picks out parts of their voice or mannerisms, exaggerates it, and writes killer stuff. That is what makes him so great.
3:25 Oh, man! Lol. That "quick impression" of Fallon was so funny! Just about sums that guy up. It conjured up so many of the great things about him...poor guy.
This show was awesome for a variety of reasons. David Spade could take both the front stage and the front row seat. He introduced comedians that people hadn't heard of. He could hang out with top comedians in the business, take a little ribbing and make a show of it. He made light of daily issues that stress everyone out. He would sometimes bring his mother onboard who had a comedic vibe of her own. He was 'the little guy', or underdog, which makes people cheer for him to independently succeed. Who wouldn't tune in to current events, through a comedic perspective, a comedy variety show that stands alone and a cheering section for the underdog, all at the same time??! I LOVED his show! Bring back David Spade, comedy host extraordinaire!!!
I absolutely loved Lights Out and was surprised it didn't make its way back. I guess he's an acquired taste, I just thought enough people appreciated him the way I do to warrant his talk show. Bring back Lights Out!
Spade was saying how crushed he was and Dana re-enacted it for him and then did the bit to remind him how much better he was at it. Still burning him after 30 years, lol.
I feel like Dana didnt even realize he was doing it, he strikes me as one of those guys who are so brilliantly talented they take their own talent for granted. He just heard “impression of Ross Perot” and felt the need tk bring it to life
It's one of those weird things. He and Robin Williams came up at the same time.......one exploded, the other didn't. They were always so similar though. Oddly, I think a lot of people think Dana came onto the scene after Robin. Robin did bring in the coked up 90's in a way Dana never could. (this is not a message of hate by any stretch) Edit: I absolutely adored Robin. Dana is the only comedian I know of with an exact same ability. (likeability, impressions, ability to ramp up when encouraged, nice, etc etc)
What shows are you referring to 'comedians trying to out joke each other? Most talk shows are one on one, like, all of them. Conan, seth Meyers,Colbert, Kimmel, etc. Going back to Carson and before
Dana is another guy who is so massively Talented but they never could Figure out what to do with it. He’s amazing really. His career should’ve been blockbuster huge.
I actually love that you can slot him into any sitcom and somehow make it better, even if Spade is just Spading it up and doing the same shtick he has done for over 35 years.
About 20 years ago David Spade smiled at me as I exited the subway. I smiled back at him after exiting the train.I always wondered what would have happened if I stayed on the train. I was so flattered.
I've heard many comedians say nothing but praises about Dana. He's just so clean humor and seems so sweet but he's funny. Of course, David is always funny too.
Comedy Central canceled Tough Crowd with Colin Quinn, the Sports Show with Norm Macdonald...I knew this one wouldn’t last. Nothing I enjoy lasts too long on Comedy Central lol
That insufferable, unfunny, unwatchable yutz Noah keeps his job while Spade, who is roughly a gizzillion times funnier, loses his. Yup, that makes sense.
It's good to finally seeing these guys together after so long, I'm sure Spade held alot of resentment back in the day about Carvey getting roles originally meant for Spade, this Ross Perot thing wasn't the only instance
Idk if you watch Good Mythical Morning but I’ve been telling my girlfriend for years that Link on there looks like Dana Carvey then randomly one day on one of their videos he mentioned that a lot of people tell him he looks like Dana. I was like “see there I wasn’t imagining it” lol
Remember seeing Spade play Oklahoma State University in the mid 90s. Still miss that 90s SNL cast starting with Carvey in the late 80s, my favorite era of SNL by far.
He kind of does! Kevin Nealon has (had? I haven't checked in in a while) a TH-cam channel called Hiking with Kevin, and he hikes around the Santa Monica mountains. One episode he ran into Dana, who was dressed to stay out of the sun and was probably just trying to keep a low profile and get some exercise. So when Kevin recognizes him with his camera, Dana is in a very mellow and relaxed state.
Carvey - the king of all impersonators! Fun fact: He went to my High School: Carlmont, in Belmont CA. My English teacher who had him said he was very quiet in class. Aren't they all?..LOL.
One of the best shows ever. I feel about this show like I did about Big bang theater. It's original, so good it feels like it's over too soon. I actually laugh, without a fake laugh track. I hate that this show is gone.
@@anthonyfrombelow no kidding. these gen Z cliches need to die. I could see if they made sense when said, but it is unnessessary filler that doesn't need to be there.

Thank you for sharing your gifts and your talent!!
And now they have one of my favorite podcasts.
The laughs these two have given me over the years. I could never ever thank them enough.
Dana treats David like a little brother, which is very sweet.
All of those guys do. It's so cute
@@annawalker5569 Omg. Yes. I'm sure he was blushing. The last time I saw that was when he was with Farley. So cute.
That 2 second Fallon impression is the most accurate I've ever seen. Carvey will forever be one of the masters at impersonations. He focuses on the subtle things other people may miss.
remember after that where he made fun of people who laugh at his 2-second impressions
He invented Dr Evil
It’s based off of Lorn

Dana and Bill Hader should do something together because they're both excellent impressionists.
Carvey does a million impressions yet is totally wowed by Spade's water dripping noise ability, lol.
Cuz Danas a real one
Your real friends mock you in person and praise you behind your back.
Underrated comment.
That is an excellent observation sir!
Well said.....lovely.
Good point, well made.
Love this
lol dana just hitting that dennis miller was spot on
Yeah it was. 🤣🤣🤣
Dana is famous for his Dennis Miller impression. He nails it.
lol
Dennis is my favorite of Carvey’s impressions. Can’t get enough!
He did it on snl too right next to dennis

for sure

Wayne's World

Dana Carvey & David Spade, two of the funniest people ever

@burteriksson you mean like.....
No one:
Dana Carvey: Here's some impressions!
Not David Spade, but Carley, yes
These 2 have great chemistry...they should have a podcast or something.
I'm glad David Spade has his own show now. He's so great and hasn't gotten the opportunities he deserves. For the record, I am not David Spade.
He has that dry humor that can pull it off.
Him and Chris Farley were an epic duo
Sure David.....
something that someone who is david spade would say

SNL LEGENDS❣️ Love them🥰🤩

Whyyy lol
WTF
Jeffery Epstine is getting cancelled
Huge if true
I love Spade because he never tries too hard to be funny. That’s what makes him so funny. ❤
Spade was great on Rules of Engagement. Probably because he mostly played himself.
Dana’s Perot imitation was one of the best ever
Spade was EXCELLENT on Just Shoot Me
Dana Carvey is my favorite SNL player, and I have been watching since its inception.
No shit? 😳

David is so cool. Really down to earth.
He's an absolutely horrible person in real life!
Dana is one of the greats. Loved this interview!

I've heard many comedians say nothing but praises about Dana. He's just so clean humor and seems so sweet but he's funny. Of course, David is always funny too.
Spade is a GIANT among comedians.
Dana's Perot impersonation is dead on. Perot was that intense.
A couple of SNL legends
Ross Perot was also an incredibly successful businessman and one of the most popular third party candidates to date.
Hans Grueber I agree ! Pretty much would have done exactly what Mr. Trump is doing only 20 yrs earlier ? But the media stamped him crazy !
He single handedly made the Democrats and Republicans get together and agree to change the rules so it won't happen again.
Meh... overrated
heh I'd vote Perot; he was a legit old school tech guy with the fire to stoke those southern sensibilities
i was just turned 20 years old, and i registered just for him. have never voted since.
That was a great Samantha B impersonation; he even nailed the part where nobody laughs.
Perfect comment. Well done.
Zing.
That's not true!!!!!but that's f****** super f****** hilarious. . because it's the truth sometimes?!???!!!(and that's the only part he nailed!)
@Nathan White You forgot Lucille Ball, Phyllis Diller, Ann Meara, Lily Tomlin, Rita Rudner and Rebel Wilson

@J Wil that's a fact.
Ross Perot called it. He told us what were going through right now. Ron Paul too.
What's that, a lobotomy in the white house?
This was a fun talk show that didn't take itself too seriously, which just added to the fun. Comedy central made a mistake by canceling it.
This show gets cancelled and Lilly Singh over on NBC is still on the air. That shows how out of touch these network execs are
