Very happy for Brandon. Hope this fight goes as planned. He's rededicated, put in the work, and it shows. And no matter the record, the wins, the losses, the knock outs, the set backs, the belts....you can never take away the heart of a champion...and as much as we like to call this guy a 'punching bag' and other fucked up shit (at least shit to say to a boxer) - this guy fuckin fights for a living - and actually won world titles doing so. But at the end of the day he is a man just like the rest of us. I wish Brandon all the best, he speaks from the heart and I enjoy his presence in the boxing world...great guy and good role model

Why? He only has 3 losses, and one of them is to Manny. There are several fighters who still box with more losses and still get a good amount of attention like Rosado. Brandon Rios is a show, he tells it like it is.
+MrSirFluffy It's not about how many times Rio's has lost but how much damage he's taken in the ring over the years.
MrSirFluffy this is why boxing has weird fans. A good fighter looses once and the fans tell them to retire. In mma people like Viktor Belforte had a 1.0 win to loss ratio and nobody asked him to quite bc the fans appreciated his fight style. It's boxing fans that almost merked boxing.

In that boxers seems to live a life of celebrity . They work hard of course. But something about mma they have a lot of oriental feel like focus on discipline the form and having a clear sober mind it's more special in what you do.
In mexico they would get drunk and next day fight for money.
My coach taught me so much but a lot of the fight plan was brutal . Maybe there's another thing boxers should do, like meditation or something.

Lots of scar tissue around his eyes but it looks like he's in shape. Whether his balance and reflexes are still there, we'll see. He's taken a lot of shots during his career and that's taken a toll. I like Brandon, he's a warrior. I wish him the best.

rios has more options now that he cut the cord with top rank. hopefully he can use this last win as the foundation for his next fight, and not blow up in between fights again. he's a good banger and could be matched up with some decent top 20 names that he wouldn't have had a chance to fight, before. that van heerden guy is ranked by the ibf and has gotten a lot of attention for sparring mcgreggor and says he wants to fight on the undercard which doesn't look full, yet. van heerden can take a beating and is a good skill matchup for rios and maybe an 8-10 rounder could add excitement to the undercard. van heerden, sadam ali, and luis collazo are also coming off wins. if berto, provodnikov, or victor ortiz could step down and get a win over a journeyman, that could set up a decent crossroads matchup with a rejuvenated rios. if paq doesn't return to melbourne to fight horn, rios could be a decent name for a 1st defense for horn as well. rios could have a decent last run before hanging up the gloves if he can live like a boxer for a year straight.
It’s sad how the fans are. They love those fighters that give it all in the ring and later when they have the side effects, the fans turn and talk a whole lot. Hence the comments section here

Brandon doesn't have the style to be at the top of the sport anymore, it's too late to teach him a different style-he's talking about having more athleticism and head movement, but when the fight gets tough he's gonna go back to what he knows. It sucks too cause these are the styles that casuals like but unfortunately that's not how you last in the sport..
Nah Ricky is a lot more serious with Rios then Robert was. It's pretty easy to see. Ricky is always in this niggas ass and with Robert they'd be talking and bullshitting more then anything.
Environment in a boxing gym and who you train with and how serious you are can change a lot in a fighter.

julian poblano Nah, he’s just trying really hard to choose his words carefully. This isn’t how he normally talks-he normally curses a lot and doesn’t speak super professionally. (You can tell because when he starts to loosen up and curse he sounds much more natural.)
