Highly developed, intelligent, open minded human beings..they offer a framework for all of us to take inspiration from. Many thanks for this conversation.
I just want to say rickson is one of the greatest martial artist of our time a master in every sense of the word what blew me away was his speaking on his father his words on. Confidence peace of mind the universal way of love listening to him I felt I was listening to a shaman a mystic holy man his very words put me at ease this man is good heart and soul peace be with you rickson
Jean Jacques asked great questions I haven’t heard from other podcasts with Rickson. Thank you both for everything you’ve done for jiu jitsu. My new favourite jiu jitsu podcast!
Absolutely fantastic ... the wonderful and truly inspiring Jean Jacques and Rickson in an illuminating chat - and we are all invited into the conversation. Conversations like this makes me long for the invention of a time machine ... to go back and have my time again in the late 80's - I would make a few different decisions. I din't realise at the time, how lucky I was - how truly privileged I was to spend time on the mat with Jean Jacques ....
What an amazing wisdom! Such depth... the only time I heard this level of wisdom, was when a Capoeira Master was talking about Malicia... No other martial art I ever practiced other than Capoeira, has ever been so open, spiritual, filosophical and therefore so much more than just a martial art! Love, respect and gratitude! Obrigado!
2 of the biggest hearts on the planet… I’ve had the pleasure of meeting Jean Jacques for a few minutes… some people you just immediately like, and he is DEFINITELY one of those people… And though I don’t really know him or Rickson, I feel much love for them and their spirit… and also, thankful for what they shared with us. THANK YOU BOTH!
I enjoy how these men pay homage to the men before them , that were a part of each man's development. Truely a family tradition is what it took to develope this art to this level of excellence. Loyalty is a very fine characteristic. His lessons are beyond combat, are lessons to navigate life.
Great interview and Great people talking about their experiences and mindset and the kind of mindset, Rickson is talking about, which he understood at a young age and made him a great warrior that I am just beginning to understand now in the later part of my life.
Thank you for sharing so deeply in your book! I respect you and the family even more now after the book. I train under Master Royler and Professor Armando Basulto in NC.
yes rickson is hands down the best guy to do jiu jitsu so far. I want to learn invisible jiu jitsu. Henry Akins I'd love to learn from him also. He teaches how rickson fought, thats what i want to learn.
Man!!! Where are the rest of these podcasts??? I didn’t know these men had this going on!!!!! 😮 incredible!! … I need the rest of the podcasts… please @ me !!!! With more where to find these !!
So inspiring. It's like evolution personified. Even the will to have place for more sensitive persons. And the honorable vibe in the interview. Just beautiful.
I’ve continually tried to get as close to the source as possible. I trained under Pedro sauers (Rickson friend and student in Brazil) student Greg Nelson starting in 2006. I would have loved to be closer to these guys but I live in northern Wisconsin so my options are limited. There’s a Pedro Sauer school I used to train at but I switched to a different one closer to my house
Thank you JJ. You are Rickson greatest student and fan. This man is a living myth. Tell him to use the Indian mantra's to heal him. _/\_ True Samurai's.
Rickson is great, great interview by jj with great questions. I actually just bought his autobiography breathe two days ago. Its a really great book about his whole life. Really suggest it for anyone interested in rickson gracie.
Around 18-20 minutes Rickson is talking about an instructor and some type of breathing and mushin (no mind), can someone tell me who he is talking about and what he’s taking about? Tai Chi or what? I’d appreciate the help.
Have you read Ricksons autobiography Breathe? He talks a lot about Orlando and what he learned from him, and the effect he had on Rickson. Great book about Ricksons life by the way. I suggest you read it if you get a chance
Jean Jacques has the best television voice and delivery. Rickson is a legend. Great questions and answers!
i k
These were great questions by Jean! They really drew Rickson out. Very enjoyable. Rickson had high praise for Jean in his book.
Tremendous work Jean!
Rickson through his philosophy and spiritual practices make him a legend. It’s not just Jiu Jitsu.
He bailed me out of some dark times of my life.
❤

Jean Jacques and Rickson are pieces of the Foundation of Jiu Jitsu. Much knowledge held between these two men. Salud!
By far, the best interview with Rickson Gracie.

I respect both these masters and teachers of life.

Sensacional
I've read it three times. :D
Its weird how i know they are cousins but very rarely seen machados and gracies together. Maybe because the latter family is so big
I had a dream I attended a seminar with both khabib and rickson in the same room then I woke up....
Só faltou legendas para nós brasileiros.
Around 18-20 minutes Rickson is talking about an instructor and some type of breathing and mushin (no mind), can someone tell me who he is talking about and what he’s taking about? Tai Chi or what? I’d appreciate the help.
A guy name Orlando Cani. He helped Rickson a lot. He talks about it in his autobiography.
Rickson in his prime vs Gordon Ryan in his prime who wins?????
Was Rickson talking about Orlando Cani?
Yes. Min 18:00. He always speaks about his beloved Mestre.
What's the name of the movie that they spoke about?
I’m not sure what you are referencing, unless it’s like documentary, which is called “Choke”.
Who is master Orlando? And how to learn about him
Have you read Ricksons autobiography Breathe? He talks a lot about Orlando and what he learned from him, and the effect he had on Rickson. Great book about Ricksons life by the way. I suggest you read it if you get a chance
They fight iin the past rickson vs machado.
JJM and Rickson are cousins for people who didn’t know!
let's go Brandon
Jean jacq overuses the word evidently.
