5/16 x 2 on round dies 3/16 x 2 on the 90° "Horrible Fate" bender, done it for the last 15 years, no problem, just use grease or Caster cutting wax in the tube, excellent cutting metal working lub., I use my bender to do modifyed "guided bend tests" on welded coupons, when testing different filler metals and base metals.

Bending round stock will damage the machine. Depending on the diameter of your material, you can bend in a vice using a pipe. Thicker material will require heat or a shop press.
No video on round stock. I make a jig and tack weld it to the table. Won’t be making videos anymore since covid is done and it’s back to regular teaching.
Thank you for the post. What bender would one use to bend up to 90 degree angles in 1/8" flat stock that is 4" wide?? ps..I dont think the head of your square survived the making of this video!😂😂
A heavy brake, probably hydraulic. Could probably also do it with 1/4 angle iron and oxy-acetylene. It’s tough to bend thicker than 16 gauge at home without buying expensive specialized equipment.

I've got harbor freight floor bender I bend 1/4×2 and 1/4×1 1/2 all day no problem
same here as per spec. "Horrible Fate" bender here too. 5/16 on the round dies, 3/16 90°

Wonder about some indication lines on the stand to show angles as you're bending so you don't have to keep taking the work piece out to check?
That's a good idea!
thats what the holes are for on the ring around the bending arm. you can drop a pin in the hole and stop your bend at a repeatable spot.

Bending round stock with this device will damage it.
Odd, I have bent 5/8 many times, no damage.
Well you can bend round stock, but it will damage your dies. Up to you to decide if it’s worth it or not.
Wonder about heating up the stock to make it bend easier?
No need to heat up stock that is 1/8" thick or less. Definitely heat up anything 3/16" or thicker.
Don’t need to heat up 1/8 steel. I would not bend 3/16 or thicker cold with a compact bender.

Rebar would mar your dies. Not a good idea if you want to keep everything in good condition. Bending rebar in a vice with oxy-acetylene works well.
