I had given up on this printer after getting absolutely no help from Canon troubleshooting guide. Right before I was going to toss this printer in the trash I stumbled upon your video. I didn't expect this to work because the rollers didn't appear dirty. But I cleaned both pairs of rollers (under side and rear) with alcohol and the corner of a paper towel. I was thrilled when it actually worked. Bravo!!!
Omg the bottom and the back open! Been fighting to get this printer to work. Checked those two areas and had paper stuck in both. You’re my hero. thanks!
A seriously gnarled paper jam and my printer was headed for the trash....having nothing to lose, I found your video and it was so simple to follow, my printer was saved! Thank you!
That was totally helpful man! I could see that the rollers were dusty but wasn't sure how to get to them or how to clean them. Worked within 5 min of doing this. Thank you!
I have an older Cannon MG5520 which I’ve NEVER gotten good paper run with. Usually don’t even use it. Today I challenged myself to update the software, clean it up, et and try and figure out why the paper won’t feed smoothly. I watch this video and so far the most continued printing I’ve had without and interruption! Thank you!
Rollers dried out if you leave it in the garage for a long time got it from a friend i had another problem and video I had to look up for this printer thank you so much for this video life $ saver!
This was very helpful cleared jam for good. Paper kept jamming intermittently. A tiny plastic piece that is part of the rear assembly was loose and would pop up occasionally (out of position)when pushing the paper tray back in. Removed the broken piece from the rear assembly and now it’s printing like when it was new.
Dust on the bottom rollers under the tray really made my printer think there was no paper and no cartridge. Wiped off and dried then it worked immediately. Thank you!
Thank you! I wasn’t even aware that there was a place to get to underneath the printer. I had checked the back and the front but now I’m off to check the middle and clean my rollers. I’ve had this printer since 2017 and never had one issue that I couldn’t fix just the logical way until now. Today my printer decides that I’m out of paper when I’m not. Hopefully your tips will fix my issue.
Thank you very very much ! I have looked on my on papers & my book & on the internet for a schematic of some sort, I found a spring with two ends that I kind of knew where I thought it went, but I wasn’t sure if that was even the problem ? Then I seen where you said there was another way to get to the paper jam & BAM that was it ! Found my problem. Big thanks. Betty perry
holy crap i have a brand new printer just got it for christmas and already ran out of ink but then i replaced it then i go todo a test page wouldnt work thank god i had one of those alcohol wipes and it work finally just a tiny ol wipe cleaned those heads/wheels and whalaa it worked thank you i really appreciate it...lol you saved the night.
I just bought a new TR 4520 printer and I have been checking out all the videos I can on this thing. I was wondering what those finger holes in the back were, lol thanks for the informative video.
This fixed my issue, I was having to push each piece of paper into the printer so it would pick it up! Not now--- Thanks, I never thought a dirty roller would do this and my rollers look clean before I cleaned them...
Thank you so much. Yes Canon was not helpful, I guess they want me to buy a new printer. This printer is not very old, but the pick up rollers were dusty. Alcohol swab cleaning did the trick. Thanks for showing how to open up all the rollers.
Thank you. Are the rollers spinning fine when sending a job? A problem may sometimes be that the gears are broken, which i hope is not your Printer's case, but check. Usually cleaning is what gives it the grip.
Thank you Mine was way inside. Bottom and to the back. pinch 2 arrows together bottom panel opens and Low and behold there was my paper jam,,,,, thank you sir! Peace;-))
I have a Prixma TR4500 and I have a paper jam. I turned it sideways and there's a stack of papers stuck in the rolly thing. Do you have any idea how I'd go about getting those sheets out?
My paper gets pulled in a bit skewed and thus never gets scanned straight. Also it does tend to pull multiple pages together at times for scanning. What are my options?
My printer keeps saying "Load paper" even after putting paper in. Watching your video I noticed that your paper sits in the main tray further than what mine does - mine sticks out past the end of the black plastic. Why is mine doing this? I can't print anything as I can't load paper, even though I believe I am loading it correctly. Any ideas as to what the issue might be?
Hi. There must be something in the way. Were you able to inspect with a flashlight? Also, my paper size is 8.5x11 inches. Standard letter size paper. I don't know if that may be the case. If paper isn't loaded to the end, paper will not be able to pick up paper.
My printer's top feeder (adf) is what's not working. I have cleaned rollers several times. It still isn't working. This prevents receiving and sending faxes. Any other suggestions? Thanks lb😢
You’re more helpful than the actual company. Thanks man!
😄🙂🙂Thank you! I'm glad I was able to help! Have a great day!
303 Electronics any advice on nonstop jamming? I’m ready to throw this thing out the window!
THANK YOU for keeping this online! I would have NEVER thought to turn the printer OVER to check the paper feed.

I have a Prixma TR4500 and I have a paper jam. I turned it sideways and there's a stack of papers stuck in the rolly thing. Do you have any idea how I'd go about getting those sheets out?
Hi. Open the back cover and pull tray out, then pull papers out the back door. If you need to do one sheet at a time, gently do that.
thank you my canon printer was jam and this fixed it thank you
Thank you I was losing my shit for a minute there.
I'm glad you got it fixed. Have a great day!
I have a canon TR4700 and it does pull open like you did at 2:40
My paper gets pulled in a bit skewed and thus never gets scanned straight. Also it does tend to pull multiple pages together at times for scanning. What are my options?
Hi. There must be something out of place in the ADF feeder or a piece of paper or paper clip in the way, or one of the rollers need to be cleaned.
WOW life saver, thank you.
I’ve heard that alcohol will dry things out but it shouldn’t be anything to worry about as long as you’re not doing it all the time
Can you do a video on repairing the belt that moves the ink cartridges?
I will get on that as soon as I get a similar printer. Thanks for the suggestion.
My printer keeps saying "Load paper" even after putting paper in. Watching your video I noticed that your paper sits in the main tray further than what mine does - mine sticks out past the end of the black plastic. Why is mine doing this?
