So, I'm revisiting this video after not watching/listening to it in about six months. I'm still totally blown away. Tears in my eyes and chills down my spine...Danielle is just amazing.
Transparent and honest vocals had me crying like a baby.....what a perfect title for this song. Guitar singing with the same impact. I want to give you a hug.....can't stand to hear so much pain and not comfort you! Got to be strong and keep the fire burning....
OMG. Etta James, Christine McVie, Beth Hart, Susan Tedeschi, Warren Haynes...I thought I'd heard all the best renditions of the song; and now comes this new generation of raw TALENT! WOW. Added to my favorites!
No need to apologize. With the talent that was on that stage, it's best to sit and close your eyes to listen. When you're in to the music it's easy to tune out the background noise. Thanks for capturing this and sharing it with us!
Was at B.B.'s BBQ awhile back. Noisy, chit-chatting, etc. Much like the background noise you hear in this performance. Danielle started singing "Goodbye" and the silence that fell over the room was almost deafening. Those that don't show the respect are truly missing out on an experience to be cherished for a lifetime. You think those that were at a live performance of Janis back in the day knew what they'd reflect back upon in the years to come? Or you think they were just at "another" concert? Pay attention folks! We, here in Kansas City, have some of the most phenomenal blues talent that's ever been offered. Anywhere. Peace.
The people yakking away even at Danielle's most emotional moments really need to learn a little etiquette and consideration or, as Bob Weir said, "Shut the fuck up the band's playing". Absolutely stunning vocals, off the scale. Thanks for posting this gem!
Maybe some of these blues artists need to bail on the "blues circuit"...jaded yuppies can't shut their yaps long enough to appreciate someone bleeding all over the stage for them. I'd rather go deaf than disrespect these good women.
I agree, pity about the background noise. Danielle has made me a blues fan. Living in South Africa I will mist probably never see her in stage. I just love her Sam. Thank you.
These girls are fantastic , the only thing I can't understand is how can people go to see a band as good as this and spend all the talking instead of appreciating whats being played in front of them , go figure
Within all the social circles that I move, not one person has ever heard of these two women, which I find to be very sad. A lot of people are missing out on some quality playing and singing which is a huge shame. On a different tack, I wonder why Sam is playing "Uncle Albert's" strat.
Yeah, same here...they're only known to my blues music loving friends...they're both amazingly talented...along with our buddy, Albert Castiglia ;-). And Danielle and Samantha had just hopped off of the Legendary Rhythm and Blues Cruise, so didn't have any gear with them. Samantha played Uncle Albert's Strat while Danielle played AJ Kelly's bass UPSIDE DOWN so she could play lefty.
It's hard to see but I love when Samantha is in her bare feet it's sweet. It seems like she often comes in very high heels and then sometimes slips them off which I like very much. I would certainly love to have an outer opportunity after a concert and feed her to massage them and watch them take care of them for her. That would be like winning the lottery for me LOL
Danielle, with her fantastic vocals, reaches the bottom of a man's soul and shines on the Sun even on such a gloomy rainy day.
Amazing performance by all! Must have been incredible to be there!

When I get to heaven. I'm going to tell God of you Sam...
I never thought to mention it before, but Sam looks absolutely delicious here.

Those chicks are bad mo fo's.
Terry, I think that was either Albert's guitar or this may have been before she had her custom guitar...not sure which.
That's Albert's axe.
I notice that Samantha is playing a Strat instead of her usual special made Tele
