    Great video! This is the exact same wiper motor assembly as in a C4 Corvette except it does not have the pump built into it. I have a couple of suggestions for your installation that might help a little:
    You need to clean the old grease off the wheel and put in some new white lithium grease in there to make the movement easier and more fluid. That old grease has tiny shavings in it and is gritty if you feel it a little as well as it is clearly squished out of the channels in your gear set.. Don't slather it all over, but put a good coating everywhere contact is made or will occur in that gear assy... Your gear looks to be in really good shape, so I suggest opening it back up and get it lubed better.
    Second, Those electrical connectors that plug into the motor... get a tube of "bulb grease" and squirt a little in those connectors after you clean them thoroughly with alcohol, or grease cutter, and a tiny stiff brush or tiny flat screwdriver (just get it cleaned perfectly is the point)... You should be putting bulb grease in any connector on a car and making sure it is sealed up as well.
    I think bulb grease is actually called dielectric compound at parts stores possibly... All GM cars have this on their connectors and it both keeps out corrosion, and seals the electrical connections for a positive connectivity. Many times weird problems occur with modules or motors like this, and once it is disassembled and put back together, its all good because you are breaking the mechanical connection of the connectors and then grinding them back together when going back together... This is good until it oxidizes again, and you are back where you started. this is why GM (and others) started putting bulb grease in all their electrical connectors and putting the rubber seals on them. If you beak an electical seal, clean it out with a grease cleaner, and put new layer of bulb grease on it before re-connecting it back (trust me on this one, because I have had to re-do many connectors like this before learning my lesson.. LOL). Do a search for "bulb grease" or "automotive dielectric compound".
    Here is link to some bulb grease on Amazon as a reference source:
    www.amazon.com/Permatex-85184-Bulb-Grease-fl/dp/B01313JPVC/ref=sr_1_cc_5?s=aps&ie=UTF8&qid=1530094887&vehicle=1992-47-440------------5-0&sr=1-5-catcorr&ymm=1992%3Achevrolet%3Acorvette&keywords=bulb+grease+auto
    I also see it in single pack use for a buck or so... grab some... LOL

      Stan Skaggs Awesome advice! I have some dielectric grease for spark plugs so I know what you’re talking about. I didn’t think to clean out the old grease, but that’s a great idea! I just fixed a relay and I will clean and replaced the grease. Thank you so much for the info.....

    I just looked at my receipt and I got mine from Rock Auto. It is AC Delco part number AC 23039864. It's called a Wiper Motor Cover. I just looked at rock auto and it's not there. You may have to try some GM sources. Good luck.....

    Hello, beautiful car. I have the identical car, same year paint scheme and wheel. Your video was very informative. That being said, I cracked my wiper motor cover changing the pump. As you know they are not available, all the 1s I find online are trashed.
    Would you happen to have 1 of your other covers that you would be willing to sell?

      philip cusumano jr Thank you so much! Unfortunately, I don’t have any parts for sale. Take a look at (thirdgen.irg). I’m looking for parts there too. Good luck and thanks again......

      3rd gen, Ricks Camaros, or Camaro Barn are some places to find the parts. Nothing they have either is GM, they are also re-fabricated in China or Mexico, as far as I can tell anyway. A lot of GM parts now come from China, no matter what the box says!

    my problem is the windshield washer does not kick on, the the pump is good. will the board have something to do with it?

    • @jster1963
      @jster1963  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm not sure. You may have to search the thirdgen forum. It may be the board, but I really don't know. Sorry and good luck.......

    on my 92 firebird both wipers turn on fine and go through all the faster settings fine and I can even spray the fluid, but....they don't want to turn off when I click it to the off setting....could it be these motors or circuit boards is fried? I'm not sure where to even begin with this issue...turned the car off, then back on later to go somewhere and finally they "sensed" it was in the off dial and stopped. Very annoying.

      I think that happened to me. It was the board. I was told they no longer sell them. I would try to get one out of a junk yard. I was fortunate that they still sold them when I needed one. I think I got it online at Rock Auto. It was some online parts store. I would try to find a new one first and if you can't, then I would try a used one. Good luck......

  • @jster1963
    @jster1963  13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @87TA350TPI I won't help because you have a bigger engine than me! Just kidding;-) I got mine new from Rock Auto online (ACDELCO 22039684 Wiper Motor Cover $ 81.79). I got the pump there too. I'm not sure if the engine size does matter, but this part number is for a 305tpi, so check. And do yourself a HUGE favor. Make sure you do not install the metal slider in the plastic slot on the cover (like I show in the vid) or it will break! Good luck....
