They’re exciting. I caught my first one when I was 7 years in 1969. They were way bigger back then. Snaggers hung a lot of upper 30’s and 40’s in those days.
That is sweet! I fished the Boardman River about 7 years ago in the spring. There wasn't a thing in at that time. For your first time salmon fishing you nailed it! Nice job brother. Tight lines from Rick
Thanks Rick! This was my first time on the river, it was right below the dam by the post office. I had fished the Boardman Lake though, about 5 times and was skunked almost every time.
@@traversecityjonboatermi8487 Don't feel bad. I was skunked by the lake too. I didn't fish far from the lake the time I fished the river. Wasn't by the post office. I just remember some antique shops close by, because my wife browsed around those while I fished the river.
Man, that would have been awesome on the grill too! Great catch...I have never caught a freshwater fish that big...maybe a catfish...but sheeesh that was huge.
Nice man but check your hook size.My wifes cousin got popped by using a treble hook larger than 3/8 point to shank.Snaggers screwed that one up.He was using a flat fish with the same size treble youre using and yes he hooked it in the mouth,
Tyler Milligan it’s at the damn across the street from the post office downtown . You have to pay to park but it’s a good spot when the salmon are running .
