Our fields in No. West Neb.were similarly rough but generally much smaller. 12’ headers were considered “good sized”! 35-40.bpa considered a good year. Interesting how far things have come.
things don't change, bigger and faster machines but you still have to pump the fuel and check the oil. I like watching you both work in the field reminds me of my Mom and Dad. lol
Thanks again for the effort to make the videos for us. We don't always comment but we have watched all your videos. In Oregon's Willamette Valley they are just starting to cut wheat.
Sure is pretty where you’re at hope I can see it some time just had another 3 inches of rain here in southeast Nebraska should be good crops here to harvest when you get back
Zeorian Harvesting is one combine, two trucks and me and Jim. We’re working with another harvester at the moment. That adds three more combines, 3 trucks and graincart.
Have you guys seen any rust in the wheat this year or has it been pretty clean I have not heard about any from any crews yet yes the draws up there are definitely a lot of fun keeps ya on ya toes lol 😂 I always remembered Montana was rock country too wow I miss the harvest so much stay safe guys
Love the footage, I started custom harvesting in new jersey in 1957 with my dad and 5' AC all crop 60 combine for $ 6.00 an acre, ended upin 2005 with JD 7720, and $22.00 curious what your acre rate is
Hi George here from Tipperary, you say that the field was very uneven do you ever encounter any rocks or banks of clay or does the header follow the ground contours well? Stay safe and I hope you get lots more acres to cut👍👍
The header is not directly on the ground. My thump gets a rather extensive workout to keep it out of the dirt. Yes, there are clayish mounds of clay but not many rocks. The next Montana stop we go to will have some rocks.
Jim tried to keep extra parts in the “job” box (part of the trailer that hauls the service truck). The less time we have to run after parts, the better. Changing that belt took him about 15 minutes.
You started this job on day 48 and now its 7 days later. You had one day of no cutting due to green wheat. So how many acres cut with your machine over 6 working days on this Hardin MT job?
The cutting isn’t as easy as Kansas flat ground. And we’ve really only had one full day without a lot of moving, etc. I haven’t looked at the acre counter but will guess 500ish acres.
Thanks for the videos, looks like fun !would like to see more of the Big Sky country, especially during wheat harvest

Yes! I agree!!

Thanks, Joe! 😊
Always good to see some fun going on!! I guess you gotta let go when the feeling his you😄👍‼️
Great job filming and operating the combine
Thanks, Timothy!
I like your proactive maintenance before you break down in harvest mode. Jerome Manhattan Ks
Jim takes good care of his equipment.

Thank you for letting me know you’re here with us!
Another great video keep up the awesome work you do.
Wow! Thank you for your comment! Made my night!

Our neighbor told me the same thing! 3” at home. Crazy!!
Glad you had another safe day.
Me too!
Just started watching videos. How many combines? How many employees?

We haven’t seen any rust. The wheat we’re cutting now appears to be really good quality. No rocks here but Jordan has plenty!

Depends on the location, crop and yield. Most harvesters are getting $25-$26 per acre. Then more per bushel and over 20 bushel average.
Is that one combine a conventional straw walker combine, I notice the back end looks narrower?
Are you guys all one crew or what’s the story there👍
Nope, we’re just part of the crew. We own one combine. The other combines belong to another harvester. We’re just helping him.
Zeorian Harvesting & Trucking Do you get paid by the bushels or by the acres🌾

Had no idea there’s Tarantulas in Montana but I’m from Massachusetts so I would have no clue
It’s probably a very large wolf spider. But it’s HUGE! Have seen more.
BWM - ohhhhhh, not me! Spiders over snakes any day.
When did newholland go yellow from blue?
Rain is part of the business and there is nothing to do. Do you always have extra straps? Can they be easily replaced on the spot?
Jim tried to keep extra parts in the “job” box (part of the trailer that hauls the service truck). The less time we have to run after parts, the better.
Changing that belt took him about 15 minutes.
What is the row spacing in that area
You got me on that one! Row spacing? For the wheat?
I am wondering how you guys know what fields to cut does the owner show you what fields ?
We have a map but, also, Lee has been cutting here for over 22 years.
Do you guys hire a truck driver as you go?
Nope. It’s just me and Jim the whole season.
How many acres have you done since leaving for the season?
You started this job on day 48 and now its 7 days later. You had one day of no cutting due to green wheat. So how many acres cut with your machine over 6 working days on this Hardin MT job?
Not nearly as much as we typically do! I hate to even say.
The cutting isn’t as easy as Kansas flat ground. And we’ve really only had one full day without a lot of moving, etc. I haven’t looked at the acre counter but will guess 500ish acres.
When they load your trucks is it only the wheat you harvested with your combine ?
No, the trucks stay in a line and are loaded one after another. Doesn’t matter which combine it came out of.
@@ZeorianHarvestingTrucking how many trucks working with the 3 combines and 1 cart?
Sixinthefield there are four. We’ll have the 4th machine in the field today.
2:35 Your kids otta be thankful you are not as CANTANKEROUS as Ole Mother Nature !!
She can certainly be a bit of a pain, for sure!
