    This is exactly what I am trying to do, start up an electrical business. Pride in my work and quality.
    I was made redundant in September, but before then, furloughed since late March. Having time to think about my future and not wanting to work for people who don't care about their employees, it was time to stand up and start to focus on my strengths.
    So in July I decided to start to build my business, it hasn't been easy by any means. But the work goes on, training is just round the corner, van and tools in the bag.
    Covid19 pandemic has been an absolute disaster for a lot of people, for me, its been a turning point, and i feel positive about the future.
    Your work, and how you approach the tasks has been an inspiration for me.
    All the best for the future.

    Not sure if you’ll see this comment now, but I actually met Corey on the Chelmsford project! I only attended the day as I was deep into my apprenticeship so I couldn’t give more of my time. But as a qualified spark now, it’s so nice to see such a high standard of work by the both of you. Be great to see you both one day!

    Good little story, I've been doing 'small jobs' Electrician for 9 years now so now is the time to update to the 18th edition and move up to Inspection and Testing and to do bigger jobs. It's exciting and daunting at the same time, what with all the costs like registration and advertising(but there are loads of ways to do it free), but it's stories like yours help realise that it can be done, so thanks.

    I have found similar problems getting electricians who fulfil their promises, are well presented in all respects or even simply turn up on time! I now work in IT having previously worked in the entertainment industry and have had occasional requirements to get electrical contractors, many of the people I work with / for wouldn’t take kindly to contractors, at my recommendation, looking scruffy, doing a bad job with poor quality components and generally having bad presentation (especially language).

    I'm a mechanical fitter by trade. Have been for 10 years. I've had a lot of experience using machines, hand tools and power tools throughout oil & gas industries as well as nuclear and renewables, as well as studying engineering theory. 6 months ago I decided to join up to a training scheme to get my City & Guilds Diplomas to become a fully qualified electrician, including EV charging points and solar panels. I though this would be a good idea to broaden my horizon and have 2 skills under my belt by the time I get into my 30's. However, I haven't had much experience in working on electrical equipment or working with cables etc. I study every day both electrical theory and all the material necessary for city and guilds. The training centre provides practical sessions. Having been an apprentice in a different discipline I understand the importance of gaining experience, repeating tasks and being exposed to different situations in order to learn and gather knowledge. My question is, given my current situation, what route do you think would be the best for me to go down in order to get more experience in electrical work? I am worried I may not be able to get a job as an electrician if an employer see's that I haven't done an actual apprenticeship or have no experience.

    I realize there are some corporations like Walmart and Home Depot that contract out such services, but I'm talking about corporations that soley specialize in one or more of these services.
    It would be great if there were. Prices would be lower and the quality of the service better because a corporations reputation is the most important thing.

    Oh only $995 pounds or three easy payments of $350 😂🤣🤣😂🤣😂

    • @EruElectrics
      @EruElectrics 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Do you think he shouldn't charge for the full of his knowledge?
      £995 investment to get a business right and grow it is not that much if I'm honest with you. I have done 121 business coaching, was costing me £750/month for a year and would do it all over again as it transformed the way I run my company and managed to dramatically increase my profitability.
      Btw, I have no association with what Jordan does and not planning to ever sign up to his training, as I've though those things already

    • @hycron1234
      @hycron1234 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@EruElectrics - There has been an influx of TH-camrs creating online business courses recently, which makes me extremely skeptical. Also typically these types of courses don't deliver and only serve to make the author money. If he will stand behind the course that he is delivering, a longer money-back guarantee and cheaper entry cost might provide for more credibility. Also by having it this expensive it will keep it out of reach for those who could use his knowledge the most. Either way, it isn't for me.

    • @hycron1234
      @hycron1234 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@EruElectrics - I'd also like to point out, you might not be affiliated with him, but you are doing the exact same thing with your own TH-cam channel. affiliate links, ebooks, the usual drivel. "The Amazing Selling Machine!"

    • @EruElectrics
      @EruElectrics 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@hycron1234 surely it looks like that more and more business coaches popping out targeting trades with a lot of them never been on a trade to know first hand how it is.
      I think something that MAY make Jordan to struggle to grow the course is that he's hasn't built enough momentum as an expert on this type of business yet. But you never know.
      On your 2nd comment, what I do is very different for what people like Jordan do. Affiliate marketing costs nothing to the buyer, I only point towards a tool I use and am happy with it or a service I use and helped me running my business, and when someone buys I make a small commission.
      Not really interesting on starting just another course if I'm honest with you. Only looking to share my experience, and create some passive income on the way. The channel has to fund itself somehow 😎

    Very impressive CV. As are the risks you took ... selling a business to pursue your voluntary work. I salute the optimism and work ethic of youth. I am retired (from an exciting career in educational computing) now having an easy life, but doing big DIY projects. I miss the innovation I was involved with in schools, but there seems to be so much happening in electrical world, innovation, change, development and controversy. I often wonder if the educational system, in the 60s had provided advice related to interests, skills and aptitudes then I might have taken a different career, perhaps building, construction, electrical, etc. Rather than academic. At 70 years of age perhaps I shouldn’t be thinking of an exciting new career! From the videos I have been watching there seems such a huge gap in the number of competent electricians that are required. I deliberately left out the word qualified. Competent and qualified don’t see to br synonymous.
    I wish you well and expect that, as you grow Artisan Electrics, you can maintain the same high standards, that’s really a challenge. Otherwise you become “another electrical contractor”, and descend into mediocrity. I don’t think you will. Aim high, as you always seem to do.

    Has anyone got any good ideas how I can drum up work as I'm starting out in a new area of the country so literally starting from scratch also need some work before I can spend on major advertising and things life that. I'm in on the Fylde coast area if anyone can help or has any work they need a hand with.

    It’s really nice to hear about your volunteer work, but for those of us who weren’t born into a business to begin with, and don’t have the means to spend years volunteering, it’s hard to relate.

      That’s a very good question! It was for a charity organisation nobody was getting paid - this is the kind of projects I worked on: www.jw.org/finder?srcid=share&wtlocale=E&lank=pub-jwb_202003_11_VIDEO

    Well done Jordan. I had no idea about the voluntary work you & your good lady have been & continue to be involved with. Says an awful lot about you both. It is sad that the electrical industry still contains a large amount of unscrupulous people that call themselves 'electricians'. My apprenticeship took 5 years back in the 80's & it frustrates the hell out of me that folk can now do a 2 week Part P course & then flout & sell themselves as bona fide 'electricians'...utter tosh!! Keep up the excellent work pal.

    Probably a really good industry to get into given that we will be encouraged to drive electric cars and people will need charging points etc. Also solar panels and adapting our houses for more gadgets and home automation. Where do I sign up?
